  • Patent number: 5754044
Abstract: A magnetooptic device to be used in industrial applications to investigate articles for flaws or defects. The magnetooptic device is capable of revealing defects in articles of nonmagnetic and magnetic conducting material. These results are achieved by designing a magnetooptic device having a magnetooptic transformer element on its bottom surface and incorporating a front electrical contact and a rear electrical contact on the bottom surface of the MO device. The respective electrical contacts are connected by wire conductors to the respective positive and negative terminals of a source of electrical current. The defect pattern of an article can be either visually viewed or the defect pattern can be recorded on a tape or magnetic rubber sheet placed between the bottom surface of the MO device and the top surface of the article being analyzed.

  • Patent number: 5643173
Abstract: A stress relief apparatus having a square wave generator that is powered by a 9 volt d.c. battery. It has two separate closed circuits for transmitting an electrical square wave from the square wave generator. Each of these circuits have a light emitting diode that radiates a light in the 400-800 nanometer range. The structure for supporting the respective LED's would be a predetermined length of flex tubing having sufficient rigidity so that it can be bent to direct the light at preselected acupuncture points on either the triple warmer, small intestine or large intestine meridians. A first human body ground member is electrically connected to the square wave generator and a second human body ground member is connected to a ground. In one embodiment the human body ground members are a pair of metal cylinders one of which is gripped in each hand of the user.

Abstract: An elongated panel configured in the shape of a visor has its respective left and right rear edges pivotally secured to the respective left and right ends of a band-shaped support member whose rear surface has a concave curvature to mate with the front of a person's forehead. The vertical orientation of the visor can be adjusted with respect to the band-shaped support member. An elongated strap is secured to the rear surface of the band-shaped support member and it has a plurality of loops secured to its rear surface. A bandanna is threaded through the respective loops and tied at the rear of the wearer's head. A display panel is formed below the visor adjacent its front end and it may have a mirror, a pager, a clock and a battery mounted therein. An audio speaker ear piece may be pivotally mounted adjacent either the left or right edge of the visor. An audio microphone may be pivotally mounted adjacent one of the edges of the visor.

  • Patent number: 5628115
Abstract: A cutting tool designed for hand cutting/harvesting of grapes and trimming shrubs and flowers. It has two elongated members pivotally secured together at a locus axis passing perpendicularly through their respective head portions. The surfaces of the respective head portions that mate against each other have annular grooves that removably receive a coiled spring between them. The coiled spring functions to keep the cutting edges of the tool separated when there isn't any hand pressure squeezing the respective hand portions toward each other to perform a cutting operation. A brass washer under the head of the bolt holding the respective head portions together assures smooth pivotal movement of the head portions when the respective hand portions are squeezed toward each other.

  • Patent number: 5623898
Abstract: Variable duration hydraulic lifters having either the conventional flat bottom surface or a roller mounted in their bottom end for engagement with a cam. The unique plungers have an upper portion and a lower portion whose outer cylindrical surfaces have grooves extending from their top edges to their bottom. The width of these grooves at their top end is less than their width at their bottom edges. Also these grooves may have a depth at their top edges that increases as it approaches their bottom edges. The benefits resulting from the unique grooves in the outer surface of the plunger includes reduced emissions, increased gas mileage, and an increase in the engines horsepower and torque.

  • Patent number: 5624291
Abstract: A lightweight wake board binding having a thin bottom support plate. A heel receptacle and a top-of-the-foot retainer strap are secured to the top surface of the bottom support plate by a left and a right side plate stiffener member that substantially eliminates the flex in the bottom support plate produced by the person riding the wake board. The plate stiffeners have upstanding flanges adjacent their inner edges having elongated slots therein that receive a fastening strap for tightly securing the binding to the wearer's foot.

  • Patent number: 5616272
Abstract: A re-bar alignment and support clip for re-bar members that need to extend vertically upwardly from a concrete foundation. The re-bar alignment support clip is detachably secured on the horizontal 2.times.4 whose bottom surface is generally flush with the top surface of the concrete foundation. The re-bar alignment and support clip has a pair of vertically spaced spring arm portions each having an intermediate curved recess that passes around the re-bar and keeps it vertically oriented.

  • Patent number: 5607066
Abstract: A pants rack assembly to be mounted on the wall of a room. It has a block shaped body member having a front surface from which extends an elongated right side gripping arm, an elongated left side gripping arm and an elongated middle spring support arm. This structure is integrally formed of plastic material. An elongated floating gripping arm is positioned between the middle spring support arm and each of the respective left and right side gripping arms. A pair of coiled springs pass through longitudinally spaced apertures in the middle spring support arm and their opposite ends are seated in recesses in the respective floating gripping arms. The rear end of the block shaped member is telescopically received in a U-shaped channel member that would be secured to the wall.

  • Patent number: 5606264
Abstract: Seepage of water and other impurities into hermetically sealed on plastic encapsulated modules leads to eventual device failure, as conductor material corrodes and opens, or electromigrates to establish conductive trails across a substrate, shorting the conductors. To forewarn of such failure, a sensing device defined as a separate chip is packaged in the same module with the circuit to be checked, with pinouts that can be tested with a circuit that is usually external. The sensor makes use of the moisture-induced migratory behavior that causes the problem, using a highly migratory metal or alloy to define paired electrodes spaced as closely as 2 micrometers apart. The metal of the electrodes undergoes rapid ionization and migration in the presence of trace amounts of moisture, dissolved ionic contaminants, and a small potential difference across the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5603336
Abstract: A footbox for medical patient's that is placed at the foot of their bed. It has a horizontal base having a rear wall extending up from its rear end. Two pairs of laterally spaced walls form a left foot receptacle and a right foot receptacle and they extend from the rear wall. The three walls forming each of the respective foot receptacles have foam pads lining their inner surfaces to provide cushioning for the patient's feet. A cushioned pad extends across the width of the base in front of the respective left and right foot receptacles and is of such a height that the patient's heel will not contact the top surface of the base inside the respective foot receptacle.

  • Patent number: 5600083
Abstract: A magazine filled with ammunition that can be quickly and easily attached to and detached from a firearm. It has a snail-shaped housing with a laterally offset chimney section that has an outlet port at its top end for feeding the ammunition into the firearm. The magazine is capable of being attached to the firearm at two 180 degree separated positions to accommodate a left or right handed person. There is an annular chamber in the housing of the magazine and it contains a spring-loaded drum. A pair of laterally spaced cog gears are mounted on the drum for capturing ammunition shells and transporting them along a circular axis until they reach the vertical linear axis of the chimney section. A follower assembly pushes the ammunition shells up through the chimney section. A shell retainer unit is mounted in the chimney section for preventing shells from exiting its outlet port when the magazine is detached from the firearm.
