Abstract: A charge-coupled-device image sensor includes first, second and third linear array imagers, first, second and third horizontal charge-coupled-devices, first, second and third transfer gates and first and second vertically arranged charge-coupled-devices. The first transfer gate is operated so as to transfer electrons from the first linear array imager to the first horizontal charge-coupled-device. The third transfer gate, the first and second vertically arranged charge-coupled-devices and the second horizontal charge-coupled-device are operated so as to transfer electrons from the third linear array imager to the third horizontal charge-coupled-device. The second and third transfer gates and the first vertically arranged charge-coupled-device are operated after electrons from the third linear array imager have been transferred to the third horizontal charge-coupled-device so as to transfer electrons from the second linear array imager to the second horizontal charge-coupled-device.
Abstract: A door accessory, such as a door hinge or a door check, includes a hydraulic retarding device for cushioning the closing action of a door. The hydraulic retarding device has a cylinder body which confines a fluid receiving space to receive hydraulic fluid therein. One end of a piston rod extends into the fluid receiving space and has a valve unit provided thereon. The valve unit includes a piston which is formed with perforations and which forms a clearance with the cylinder body and a valve ring which is loosely sleeved on the piston rod.
Abstract: A door hinge includes a hydraulic retarding device for cushioning the closing action of a door. The hydraulic retarding device has a cylinder body which confines a fluid operating space to receive hydraulic fluid therein. The fluid operating space includes a pair of longitudinally extending cylindrical spaces and an intermediate longitudinal passage provided between and communicating the cylindrical spaces. A vane unit is provided in each of the cylindrical spaces and has a blade which defines a longitudinal clearance with an inner surface of the cylinder body. A baffle extends longitudinally into each of the cylindrical spaces and is disposed between the passage and a respective one of the vane units. The baffles are substantially arc-shaped in cross-section and face away from each other. A gate valve is provided in the passage between the baffles.
Abstract: In apparatus for supplying ink and or water to a plate cylinder through fountain roller, swinging roller and a transfer roller, the transfer roller is supported by a swinging lever and the motion thereof is allowed or prevented by a spring biased control member. Such allowance and prevention is selected by an operating handle.
Abstract: Noble metal or diamond values are recovered from ore slurries by contact with pellets of oil, coal and bitumen as a secondary binder. The pellets are of a size above 0.75 mm and contain 2% bitumen and 18% lighter oil fractions. The pellets do not disintegrate and size range remains constant.
Abstract: A luminaire for high intensity indirect lighting providing a horizontally symmetrical light distribution with peak candle power at low angles is disclosed. The luminaire includes an inner light directing member nested in spaced relation within a generally dome-shaped outer translucent member. The inner light directing member includes means for directing the majority of light emitted by an axially located vertical light source out of the upwardly facing open end of the light directing member after no more than one reflection, and means for illuminating the outer translucent member to a substantially homogenious brightness level comparable to that of the surrounding ceiling.
Abstract: A stationary board adapted to support a metal die and a frame adapted to support an injection cylinder are formed as an integral hollow structure. A sleeve teemed with molten metal extends through the board coaxially with the injection cylinder, and the molten metal in the cylinder is injected into the die by a plunger operated by the injection cylinder. With this construction, the weight of the apparatus is decreased and the rigidity can be increased. Further, not only centering of the injection cylinder is facilitated but also the length of the sleeve can be decreased.

A top and bottom plate are separated by an adjustable distance determined by the position of an intermediate wedge. Abstract: A high contrast and brightness fluorescent screen of a color picture tube has a light absorbing layer in the form of fine dots or stripes provided for the inner surface of a panel of the tube on which the phosphor layer is formed, and a light reflection layer provided at an interface between the light absorbing layer and the phosphor layer. To manufacture the fluorescent screen, a photosensitive resin layer coated on an inner surface of the panel is exposed to light through a photomask mounted on outside of the panel to form a pattern. Nonluminous light absorbing substance is applied on the pattern to form the light absorbing layers.
Abstract: An electron gun for a color picture tube has at least a cathode, a control grid, an accelerating grid, a focus grid and an anode, each of which has three apertures aligned in line. The focus grid and the anode made of elongated plates serves as main lens electrodes, and the apertures of the focus grid and the anode constitute a main lens assembly. The three apertures of each of the elongated plates has a central aperture defined by two first curves arcuated outward, two side apertures each of which is defined by a second curve as an inner half arcuated inward and a third curve as an outer half arcuated outward, the first and second curves being less arcuated than the third curve. The three apertures are aligned such that the major axes thereof are parallel to a shorter axis of the elongated plate and are located at equal intervals. The three apertures are spaced apart from each other through corresponding bridge portions.
Abstract: The present invention provides a brightness equalizing light filter system which can be utilized as the bottom panel or as one of a set of bottom panels in an indirect fluorescent light fixture to evenly illuminate the fixture to approximately the same degree of brightness as the surrounding area which it lights. The brightness equalizing light filter system comprises a translucent diffuser panel with an opaque, electrically-connected pattern of thin metal film deposited thereon, wherein the density of the opaque pattern for each point on the panel is proportional to (or the linear function of) the intensity of light impinging on that point from the light source. The metal film serves both as the required electrical ground to act as a starting aid for the lamps and as a reflecting surface to increase the photometric efficiency of the fixture.
Abstract: An abnormal-paper sensing apparatus in a printing machine which senses the presence of a front folded corner of a sheet of printing paper. The sheet of paper hits against front lays provided at a front end of an insertion guide plate and stops. The insertion guide plate has a pair of recesses provided in a front end portion thereof so as to extend thereacross at positions where the recesses can face the front corners of the sheet of paper which passes over the recesses. The recess have a triangular cross section with a longer side positioned on the side of the front end of the insertion guide plate and with a shorter side positioned on the side of the rear end of the insertion guide plate.

The slide base is supported to be movable in a direction substantially perpendicular to an extension direction of the tension side of the chain. A slide base driving apparatus is arranged on a press frame. A tension sprocket which is biased in a tension direction of the chain by compression coil springs so as to be in contact with a slack side of the chain.
Abstract: In a shield machine, there are provided an electromagnetic wave transmitting and receiving unit mounted on the top of the shield machine for radiating electromagnetic impulse wave toward an underground and for receiving the electromagnetic wave reflected from the underground, and a position sensor for collecting an information regarding the position of the electromagnetic wave transmitter and receiver unit. Data processing unit is provided for processing the signals from transmitter/receiver and the position sensor and sent through a transmission line. The data processing unit continuously displays the condition of the underground at the cutting face.

The increased kinetic energy of the particles enables the particle to give up more electrical energy to the target electrode (10) than was initially given to it. A constant focusing voltage is applied to the first grid electrode, and a dynamic focusing voltage gradually increasing or decreasing from the constant focusing voltage as the degree of beam deflection increases is applied to the second grid electrode.
Abstract: In an electronic musical instrument of digital processing type, key codes are stored in a memory channel by channel for respective tone productions. The stored key codes are utilized for determining pitches of respective tones to be produced. Upon depression of new keys, the formerly stored key codes are automatically added or subtracted channel by channel with the value for a certain note step toward the new key codes at a certain clock rate defining a glissando speed. Thus automatic glissando performances are easily realized.
