Abstract: A collapsible shipping container for perishable goods is comprised of an inner, stiff, corrugated paperboard box having interior surfaces forming an enclosure of defined shape and opposing exterior surfaces. A surrounding skin of thermally insulating material is adhesively secured to the exterior surfaces of the corrugated paperboard box. The thermally insulating skin envelopes the box therewithin. Unlike conventional systems, the thermally insulating skin is located on the outside surfaces of the box, and not within the box. A collapsible shipping container according to the invention to a large extent prevents heat from ever entering the box.
Abstract: Modular storage units are formed for small, household articles so that the units can be stacked vertically one atop another. Each unit is formed with a box supported from beneath by a stand for rotation relative to the stand about a central, vertical axis of rotation. The stand has a base that covers a horizontal stand base area and supports the flat bottom of the box. The top of the box is flat and has a concave, upwardly facing recess at its center that has a shape configured to snugly received the stand of a unit stacked directly above. Any number of modular storage units can be stacked one atop another with the stand of each unit being centered and laterally confined by the stand receiving recess in the top of the box located immediately below. In this way all of the boxes are rotatable independently of each other about a common, vertical axis of rotation. The contents of the boxes may be accessed either by forming the box with an open side, or by forming each top of the box as a removable lid.
Abstract: An injection molding system for molding a hollow plastic article employs a hollow mold core having a longitudinal axis and a core runner cavity that has a uniform cross section throughout and which extends to the open end of the mold core. The mold core includes at least one core ejection gate and at least one core inlet gate leading from the outer surface of the core wall to the core runner cavity. When molding is performed in stages, there is it least one core ejection gate for each stage of molding. The core is clamped in between separate sets of molding blocks for each stage of molding. A core end closure cap having a core extension cavity aligned with the core runner cavity is used to close the open end of the mold core. A molten plastic is injected into the outer molding blocks and is confined to travel through the core inlet gate of the core without entering the mold cavity directly so that the molten plastic is forced to pass through the core runner cavity in order to reach the core ejection gates.
Abstract: A wrench socket rack is formed of an elongated support defining a track with a pair of bearing surfaces overhanging the track from opposite sides. A plurality of socket pegs are provided. Each peg has a base with laterally projecting lugs that fit into the track. Each socket peg is sized to receive a wrench socket thereon. A bore with internal threads is defined from top to bottom in each of the socket pegs. A track-engaging clamp formed as a set screw that is threadably engaged in the socket peg at the bottom end of the bore. A hollow spring clamping screw is threadably engaged in the top end of the bore. The track-engaging set screw may be manipulated using a tool that is inserted through the cylindrical opening in the spring clamping screw.
