  • Patent number: 6478336
Abstract: A shallow box binder cover is provided for a binder containing a plurality of pages. The cover has a stiff, opaque core through which a plurality of display openings are defined. These display openings are surrounded by the structure of the cover core. A separate transparent plastic blister or box is located in each of the display openings. Each transparent box has a raised interior bubble surrounded by a base having mounting flanges projecting laterally from opposite sides of the periphery of the base. These mounting flanges are held against the inside surface of the front cover core so that the raised interior bubbles project into the display openings and into close proximity to the outer surface of the cover core. A front cover liner is disposed across the bases of the boxes to define separate, hollow enclosed cavities within the interior portions of each of the bubbles. Selected three-dimensional objects are placed within the bubbles before the front cover liner is disposed across the bases of the boxes.

  • Patent number: 6470913
Abstract: A rotory servovalve is constructed with a cylindrical annular housing and a cylindrical valve element rotatable therewithin. The valve housing has at least two inlet orifices, at least two outlet orifices, at least two first fluid transfer control orifices, and at least two second fluid transfer control orifices. At least two orifices of each type are located on opposite sides of the valve housing from each other. Preferably there is a first end orifice, a central orifice, and a second end orifice of each type. The end orifices of each type are angularly and longitudinally aligned with each other and are angularly offset 180 degrees from a central orifice of the same type. The end orifices of each type have an area equal to one-half the area of the central orifice of the same type and are equally spaced in opposite longitudinal directions from the central orifice of the same type.

  • Patent number: 6450903
Abstract: At least one, and preferably a pair, of golf ball markers with magnets incorporated therein are employed in combination with a golf putter as a putting training aid. The golf ball markers may be placed a short distance apart on the ball-impact impact face of the putter for a golfer to practice putting. If the golfer correctly brings the putter face into contact with the ball, the ball will be impacted by the center of the face directly between the two magnetized ball markers. If the golfer's putting stroke is not correct, one or the other of the ball markers will strike the ball, thereby creating a tactile sensation transmitted through the putter shaft that informs the golfer of the error in execution of the putting stroke. Magnetic golf ball markers may also be used in combination with a putter in other ways to develop a putting stroke that is consistently correct. The golfer places two of the golf ball markers with magnets incorporated therein on a golf putting practice surface.

  • Patent number: 6450358
Abstract: A hygienic beverage can attachment is formed as a cap for a metal pop-top beverage can. The cap attachment is formed of a liquid-impervious, elastically resilient material that has a skirt with a radially inwardly directed lip at its outer periphery and with a drinking port defined completely through its structure. The drinking port is spaced radially inwardly from the periphery of the cap attachment for alignment with the drinking opening in the pop-top beverage can. A collar having a radially outwardly directed flange is located on the underside of the cap coaxially about the drinking port. The cap fits onto the beverage can so that the lip of the skirt engages the bead at the top of the beverage can and so that the lower extremity of the collar projects through the drinking aperture in the top of the can. The flange at the lower extremity of the collar engages the underside of the top of the beverage can at the drinking opening therethrough.

  • Patent number: 6447117
Abstract: A pair of rimless eyeglasses are formed with lenses having mounting apertures defined through their structures near both their mutually proximate and mutually remote edges. The mounting wires and mounting apertures are of uniform cross section throughout between the inner and outer surfaces of the lenses. The ends of coupling wires at the bridge and temple pieces are bent back upon themselves to form mounting loops. The ends of the coupling wires at the mounting loops are inserted into the apertures in the lenses. The mounting wires are thereby secured in the apertures by the force of friction. Preferably each mounting aperture is lined with a resilient grommet that conforms to the shape of the aperture and at least partially conforms to the shape of the wire inserted therewithin. The grommets grip the wires and the structure of the lenses at the apertures to stabilize the bridge and temple pieces relative to be lenses.

  • Patent number: 6443309
Abstract: A fully collapsible shipping container is comprised of it least one sheet of a flexible, thermally insulating material. The sheet or sheets of material have mutually parallel linear side edge fastening margins. The sheet or sheets are folded to form a rectangular floor and four walls projecting from the floor in orthogonal relationship relative thereto to define an enclosure. The linear side edge fastening margins meet at and are heat sealed throughout interfaces of mutual contact. The side edge margins are directed outwardly from the interior of the enclosure. The heat seals formed by the two layers of material at the edge fastening margins are leak proof so that moisture cannot escape from perishable food products shipped within the container. A container can be formed from a single sheet of plastic bubble packing material or from material lined with a plastic film and shaped so that the container will fit within an outer corrugated paper board box.
