Abstract: A counter electrode structure of a transition metal electrochromic compound for use in an electro-optical device, which is useful in control of visible and infrared absorption by windows, in data display devices and the like, typically comprising in sandwich arrangement a pair of electrodes, and disposed therebetween, a layer of transition metal electrochromic compounds and a semi-solid highly conductive sulfuric acid gel electrolyte, one of the electrodes being said counter electrode. The gel exhibits good conductivity, stability and compatibility with the electrochromic layers. The present counter electrode is more efficient and has a longer lifetime.

Abstract: A shampoo, creme rinse composition is provided comprising an anionic or amphoteric detergent, or combinations thereof and a substituted quaternary ammonium compound represented by the formula: ##EQU1## where R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are lower alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is a benzyl radical which may be further substituted by a C.sub.1 or C.sub.2 alkyl radical;R.sub.4 is a long chain alkyl radical of 16 to 22 carbon atoms; andX is an organic anion selected from the group consisting of saccharinate, cyclamate and phthalimidate radicals.Generally stated the subject matter of the present invention relates to an improved aqueous shampoo composition. More particularly the invention relates to an aqueous shampoo composition which both cleans the hair and scalp and additionally imparts a conditioning effect to the hair so that further treatment is unnecessary.
Abstract: Novel, high light capacity chemiluminescent systems are disclosed. The high capacity is produced by adding a small amount of a polymer selected from the class consisting of: (1) homopolymers and copolymers of poly(alkylene oxides); (2) homopolymers and copolymers of poly(vinyl alkyl esters) and poly(vinyl alkyl ethers) with the optional inclusion of minor amounts of alkylenes and styrenes in said copolymers; (3) 1:1 alternating copolymers of maleic anhydride with alkylenes and styrenes; (4) cellulose esters and mixed cellulose esters of 2-, 3- and 4-carbon acids and mixtures of said esters with the poly(alkylene oxides), to a chemiluminescent system containing a bisaryloxylate, an organic fluorescer a peroxide, and an organic solvent.
Abstract: A vulcanizable rubber composition is provided which comprises rubber, a filler material, an N-(substituted oxymethyl)melamine and 1,3-dimethylolurea.
Abstract: Hair shampoo composition which provides both cleansing properties and conditioning properties which makes it unnecessary to use a separate cream rinse. The composition is a combination of natural soaps, a syndet and an alginate salt.
Abstract: A vulcanizable elastomer composition is provided which comprises a copolymer represented by the formula:H -- -- OG -- --.sub.x OHwherein -- -- OG -- -- comprises randomly alternating structural units (I), (II), and optionally, (III)-- -- oc.sub.2 h.sub.4 sc.sub.2 h.sub.
Abstract: A fabricated packed pipe coupling gland suitable for a connection where there is at least one brittle pipe, the coupling forming a pressure tight, leak proof coupling which is semi-rigid. The coupling is particularly useful for coupling glass pipe to metal pipe for conveying highly corrosive vapors at high temperature, for example heated titanium tetrachloride vapors to a reactor for forming titanium dioxide.

Abstract: Method for forming a counter-electrode or imaging area in an electro-optical data display and imaging device, and the electrode and imaging areas formed. An electrochromic data display and imaging device may be formed by sandwich arrangement of the imaging area, the counter-electrode area with a suitable layer between. The device exhibits superior electrochromic reversability and improved speed and cell life over prolonged coloration and erase cycles.
