  • Patent number: 4460305
Abstract: A strip stacker for stacking in parallel planes, plate like strips of electronic components. The machine has a trap door onto which the plate like strips are placed in succession. Each time a strip is placed on the trap door its position is sensed by an electronic eye which actuates a motor to swing the trap door down allowing the strip to fall down a slide with its lower edge into a tray. A compacter bar is slideably supported in the tray and two locating pins project into the tray to hold the strips already stacked in position as the compacter bar retracts. Each time a strip falls from the trap door the compacter bar is retracted, the pins retract, and the compacter bar extends forcing the strip against the end until the fallen strip is in position behind the locating pins and pushing the tray down the slides. The locating pins extend holding the last strip against its predecessors. When the tray is full it will be at its lower extreme position and will be removed.

  • Patent number: 4452671
Abstract: A recycle water treatment system for separating oil vapor from steam recovering the oil and heat from the steam and destroys microorganisms and exotoxins which incorporates an inclined duct connected to a barometric condenser with a container for oil at the lower end of the condenser. Oil entrained in the steam is carried up the duct and over the barometric condenser. The steam heats the condenser water that is recovered while the entrained oil flows back down the duct into a recovery container. The condenser water-steam condensate mixture is maintained at about 180.degree. F. for a period of time sufficient to destroy microorganisms and exotoxins.

  • Patent number: 4441719
Abstract: A balloon game having a target made up of two laterally spaced frame members held in spaced relation to each other, a balloon, and a paddle for each player. The frame members have an operative to permit the passage of the balloon and are spaced sufficiently to narrow the effective target area through which the balloon may pass. The balloon is a conventional type of inflated spherical child's balloon, blown to a size that allows it to float, and fall slowly. The paddles are of a conventional type presenting a flat area to impact the balloon and a handle area to be grasped by the player. The target has a knock-down construction for easy storage and quick assembly.

  • Patent number: 4438059
Abstract: This application discloses a process of making electrically conductive fiber glass articles whereby carbon black is mixed with the resin to provide the desired value of electrical conductivity. A large amount of titanium dioxide is added to counteract the black color resulting from the carbon black addition. The resulting paste is added to fiber glass and the resin is cured thus resulting in a light gray or other gray tones. It is important that the carbon black, titanium and resin be thoroughly mixed to disperse the carbon and other pigments, and the mixing may be accomplished by means of a high intensity mixer or ball mill.

  • Patent number: 4435091
Abstract: An integrated circuit device is disclosed for sensing dew point which uses integrated circuit techniques supported on a suitable substrate. Four semi-conductor junctions are used which are a Peltier junction or a junction capable of emitting or absorbing heat, a light-emitting junction, a junction that generates electrical current when exposed to light and a temperature sensing junction. The circuit cooperates to control time and switch the current through the Peltier junction to heat and cool it. The light-emitting junction emits light onto the reflecting surface. The light sensing means senses the reflected light, and the Peltier junction selectively heats and cools the reflecting surface causing moisture to condense on the surface which changes the reflecting properties of the surface and changes the amount of light to the light sensing junction. Current through the Peltier junction is then switched causing the Peltier junction to heat the reflecting surface evaporating the moisture.

  • Patent number: 4424468
Abstract: An inverter ballast for fluorescent lamps utilizing a resonant circuit coupled to the lamp and operated from a source of DC power through transistors. The transistors are controlled by a sensing means in the resonant loop which insures that the transistor switch at zero current. Furthermore, the coupling means for the load controls a source of heater voltage to the anodes of the fluorescent light which operate at very low current, an antisaturation circuit made up of separate windings are on the current transformer and connected to the switching transistor bases and through diodes to the power supply to prevent "shoot through" current in the transistors. An autotransformer is used as a high leakage reactance transformer; and a circuit is provided to prevent overload of the resonant circuit in case of lamp failure. Shoot through currents are prevented, and overload of the resonant circuit is prevented, and an autotransformer coupling of the resonant circuit to the load is used.
