  • Patent number: 6435976
Abstract: A golf putter providing an adjustable angle between the shaft the putter head, which angle can be adjusted to accommodate individual golfers. The putter head has a slot which extends vertically from a lower surface thereof and a cylindrical recess which extends from a rear surface of the putter head forming a vertical wall therebetween, with a pair of arcuate-shaped slots. The putter further includes a hosel assembly having a cylindrical joint member affixed to the lower portion of the shaft. The joint member closely fits within the cylindrical recess forming a pivot which is lockable in the desired angular position by a pair of hex head screws which extend through the joint member and opposite portions of the arcuate-shaped slots into threaded holes of the lock member.

  • Patent number: 6427609
Abstract: A portable, collapsible voting booth forming a plurality of individual voting compartments on a table top to screen voters from observation of their votes from other persons present at the polling place. The voting booth includes a rectangular center panel having hooks which connect centrally to mating slots in a pair of end panels at a right angle to form an H-shape when viewed from above the table. Respective individual voting compartments are formed on opposite sides of the center panel between the end panels. The panels each include a centrally disposed, rectangular handle cutout adjacent an upper edge of each panel for carrying multiple panels in-hand. An additional center panel and connected end panel can be attached to each end panel using the second slot of the pair to produce additional pairs of side-by-side voting compartments.

  • Patent number: 6408739
Abstract: A pneumatic cylinder having internal hydraulic dampening device for cushioning the motion of a pneumatic piston (44) at its end of stroke. The hydraulic device includes a pair of hydraulic pistons (50, 52) cooperating with a pair of hydraulic cylinders to form a pair of hydraulic chambers (58, 64), which communicate with each other by a restricted flow passage (74). When the pneumatic piston nears its end of stroke, one of the hydraulic pistons is moved to compress the corresponding hydraulic chamber, forcing hydraulic fluid through the restricted flow passage, to the other hydraulic chamber. The flow of hydraulic fluid through the restricted flow passage slows the pneumatic piston, thereby cushioning the end of stroke motion. The restricted flow passage can include a plurality of flow passages which are sequentially closed by pins (136, 138, 140, 142) connected to one of the hydraulic pistons, as the hydraulic piston moves, to vary the restriction in the flow passage.

  • Patent number: 6375396
Abstract: A rotary cutting tool has an axially moveable drill pilot supported in the forward end of an arbor. A first set screw connects the arbor to an annular hole cutter. A second set screw connects the arbor to the drill pilot. The drill pilot has an integral collar that engages the inner end of the hole cutter to prevent the drill pilot from being ejected from the arbor in the event that the second set screw is disengaged from the drill pilot.

  • Patent number: 6301977
Abstract: Apparatus for suppressing the operation of a vehicle restraint system when a child's seat is mounted in a vehicle car seat. The seat belt is connected by two plates to a vehicle anchor. One plate is stretchable, the other non-stretchable. A low seat belt load does not stretch either plate. A higher load stretches the stretchable plate until the belt load is transferred to the non-stretchable plate.

  • Patent number: 6299394
Abstract: A milling tool holder comprising an elongated body adapted to be supported on a milling tool base. The body has a shank-receiving bore. A tool head supports a pair of indexable inserts, and has a shank received in the shank receiving bore to a position in which an annular face on the head faces a similar face on the body. A pair of projections on the face of the body is received in a pair of openings in the tool head to prevent the tool head from rotating with respect to the body.

  • Patent number: 6244949
Abstract: The internal organs of a slain deer are removed from the animal cavity by sealing the rectum passage prior to forming an access slit along the deer belly. An annular (tubular) cutter is rotated on the deer rump to severe a plug of flesh containing the anus, after which the cutter is drawn away from the deer carcass to expose the rectum. A cord is tied around the exposed rectum so that the rectum is sealed against the escape of waste material when the deer belly is cut to gain access to the internal organs.

  • Patent number: 6241632
Abstract: A hand-held, hand-manipulated catch ball game comprising a ball used with an assembly of two opposing receptacles, one above the other, each having ball exit openings positioned to direct the ball along an open ended track. A handle is located at the track side midway between the receptacles and the track ends. The assembly handle is held by the player's hand with the thumb of the hand toward the open end of the track. The ball is placed on the receptacle end of the track and the assembly is tilted to roll the ball down the track. As the ball nears the track end, the player manipulates the assembly to throw the ball a short distance upward into the air. The player then quickly rotates the assembly approximately one hundred eighty degrees to catch the ball in the previously downward facing receptacle.

  • Patent number: 6237756
Abstract: Conventional keys can be stored in a flat panel for carrying in a person's pants pocket or purse. Each key is stored in a flat slot extending from one edge of the panel. A push-button on the panel can be moved along the panel surface to push the key out of the panel or to pull the key into the panel. The push-button is attached to the key by a flexible connector that has a lost motion connection to the push-button. The lost motion connection allows the key to be spaced from the panel so as to be manipulatable without interference from the panel.

  • Patent number: 6200316
Abstract: A targeting device for aligning a viewing device between a radiation source and a radiation receiver along an axis that passes through the fastener-receiving hole in an intramedullary nail or rod. The targeting device is aligned such that the viewing axis coincides with the radiation axis, which in turn coincides with an axis that passes through the fastener-receiving hole, to prepare to insert a fastener for attaching the nail to a bone in which the nail is implanted. The apparatus and method reduces the procedural time associated with the accurate placement of screws or pins into orthopedic hardware, such as the distal locking holes of intramedullary nails/rods in long bone fractures.

  • Patent number: 6182547
Abstract: A steel blank can be removed from the space between a lower stationary die and an upper movable die by employing a belt conveyor in a cavity in the upper die. The frame for the conveyor belt mounts an array of permanent magnets that exert a magnetic pick-up force through the lower run of the belt into the steel blank. The conveyor frame is floatably suspended to follow the upper die, while being downwardly deflected by the action of a stripper pad carried by the upper die, such that the blank is dislodged from the upper die and then transported out of the space between the two dies.
