Abstract: A goalie training apparatus has a first plurality of semi-circular wedge-shaped barriers attached to an upper glide surface of a slide board along an arc and at least one other barrier attached to the upper glide surface separated from the first plurality of barriers leaving a portion of the glide surface unobstructed. The arcuate faces of the barriers present multi-angular push-off points important for goalie training, as goalies must move in various directions within the goal crease. The barriers are preferably attached to the glide surface with high strength hook and loop fasteners, possibly in combination with bolts, screws or rivets. Wearing a foot covering with a low coefficient of friction in relation to the glide surface, a goalie stands atop the unobstructed glide surface and pushes a foot against one barrier and glides or shuffles along the glide surface to another barrier/push point. The second barrier may be a plurality of barriers and represents the goal or goal posts.

Abstract: The invention provides a pillow to support a user's head and neck and a portion of his upper body during sleep or resting. The pillow has a generally planar lower support surface and an upper support surface. A rear lobe and a front lobe are separated by a trough on the support surface. A wedge portion depends downwardly from the front lobe toward the front edge of the pillow. The wedge portion and front lobe together function to support the neck and a portion of the user's upper body when his head is held within and is supported by the trough.
Abstract: A precision high-pressure control assembly for supercritical fluids comprises a continuous flow system having a pressure control loop which includes a source of fluid communicating with a pump. A pressure sensor monitors the pressure of the supercritical fluid in the outlet line of the pump. A pressure controller has an input for receiving a signal relating to the pressure sent by the pressure sensor and the pressure controller yields an electronic output signal to an electropneumatic regulator. A source of air communicates with the electropneumatic regulator to provide pressurized regulated driver air directed to the pump. The electropneumatic regulator controls the regulated driver air pressure of the pump in accordance with the signal received from the pressure controller.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the automatic characterization of mechanical and/or geometric properties of stable fiber sample comprises presenting stable fiber samples in a magazine. The stable fiber samples are clamped in place for analysis by the apparatus which characterizes the mechanical and/or geometric properties of the fiber samples.

Abstract: Process for preparing a poly-1-olefinBy means of a highly active spherical Ziegler catalyst based on a dialkylmagnesium, spherical polymers can be obtained in the polymerization of alpha-olefins. A further advantage of the catalyst of the invention lies in the high catalyst activity, so that only very small amounts of the catalyst are required for the polymerization. The residual titanium and/or zirconium content in the polymers prepared according to the invention is less than 10 ppm. Owing to its good responsiveness to hydrogen, the catalyst is particularly suited to two-stage processes for preparing polymers having a broad bimodal molecular weight distribution. The replacement of sulfur-containing electron donors such as diethyl sulfite by alcohols such as ethanol leads to less odor problems and broadened opportunities for use of the polymer.

Abstract: A roof mounting assembly includes rows of pans mounted to the understructure of a roof by hooking the pans around support tracks. Rows of roofing panels are mounted over the respective rows of pans with adjacent roofing panels generally abutting each other to create a joint located above the central area of an underlying pan so that the pan acts as a barrier to prevent rain water and the like from flowing through the joint and directly to the understructure. By using underlying pans to prevent leakage, it is possible to minimize the amount of panel overlapping. The panels are preferably mounted to the tracks by separate hook members. The upper end of each panel is between and against an overlying panel and an underlying track.
