  • Patent number: 7403238
Abstract: An AMLCD having high fineness and high contrast is realized. First, an interlayer film is provided on an element electrode, and an opening portion is formed in the interlayer film. Next, after a first metal layer is formed, an embedded insulating layer is formed. The embedded insulating layer is retreated by a means, such as an etch back method, to realize a state in which only the opening portion is filled with the embedded insulating layer. By this, electric connection between the element electrode and a second metal layer becomes possible while keeping the flatness.

  • Patent number: 7402945
Abstract: Although an ink jet method known as a method of selectively forming a film of a high molecular species organic compound, can coat to divide an organic compound for emitting three kinds (R, G, B) of light in one step, film forming accuracy is poor, it is difficult to control the method and therefore, uniformity is not achieved and the constitution is liable to disperse. In contrast thereto, according to the invention, a film comprising a high molecular species material is formed over an entire face of a lower electrode connected to a thin film transistor by a coating method and thereafter, the film comprising the high molecular species material is etched by etching by plasma to thereby enable to selectively form a high molecular species material layer. Further, the organic compound layer is constituted by a material for carrying out luminescence of white color or luminescence of single color and combined with a color changing layer or a coloring layer to thereby realize full color formation.

  • Patent number: 7402948
Abstract: Not all of light generated in the light emitting layer comprising the organic material are taken out in the desirable direction. For example, light emitted in the lateral direction (the direction parallel to the substrate face) is not taken out and therefore is a loss. An object of the present invention is to provide a light emitting device structured so as to increase the amount of light which is taken out in a certain direction after emitted from a light emitting element, as well as a method of manufacturing this light emitting device. In the present invention, an upper end portion of an insulating material 19 that covers an end portion of a first electrode 18 is formed to have a curved surface having a radius of curvature, a second electrode 23a is formed to have a slant face as going from its center portion toward its end portion along the curved surface.

  • Patent number: 7397683
Abstract: When one or more storage data are coincident with single search data (12), an associative memory (1) carries out logical sum for all of storage data with a valid state for storage data as true. The result of logical sum is used as matched data logical-OR information. In a primary searching operation, the associative memory (1) is supplied with the search data (12) to provide the matched data logical-OR information on matched data logical-OR lines. Then, the associative memory (1) carries out a secondary searching operation supplied as search data with the matched data logical-OR information obtained by all of storage data coincident upon the primary searching operation. Only a match line (5) coincident with the matched data logical-OR information is selected as the secondary search result. The associative memory is used in a network router to calculate an optimum memory address signal (403) by encoding the selected match line (5).

The i-th primary associative memory 20-i carries out the search operation, produces the primary match line 17-1-1 through 17-m-r, and maintains the state of logical AND operation by every word of the primary match line 17-j-1 through 17-j-r, the secondary match line 18-j-1 through 18-j-r, and memory means m-j when primary search enabling signal 10-i is in a valid state. Supplied with the states maintained in the stored information in each word and memory means 43, the primary associative memory 20-i provides the intermediate data 93-i. The secondary associative memory 21-i with words, m in number, searches for the intermediate data 93-i and produces the secondary match line 18-i-1 through 18-i-m when secondary search enabling signal 11-I is in a valid state.
