  • Patent number: 7663635
Abstract: A system and method for memory mapping in a multiple video processor (multi VPU) system is described. In various embodiments, rendering tasks are shared among multiple VPUs in parallel to provide improved performance and capability with minimal increased cost. In various embodiments, multiple VPUs in a system access each other's local memories to facilitate cooperative video processing. In one embodiment, each VPU in the system has the local memories of each other VPU mapped to its own graphics aperture relocation table (GART) table to facilitate access via a virtual addressing scheme. Each VPU uses the same virtual addresses for this mapping to other VPU local memories. This allows the driver to send exactly the same write commands to each VPU, including the numeric value of the destination address for operations such as writing rendered data. Thus, unique addresses need not be generated for each VPU.

  • Patent number: 7657594
Abstract: A system for determining directed media for a user is provided. The exemplary system comprises a media selection optimizer which is configured to determine a directed media component based on a user profile associated, via a device identifier, with a network access device. The media selection optimizer may also utilize access point information, historic information, and access point location-centric information in its determination of the directed media component. The directed media component may then be forward to a media server which provides the corresponding directed media to the user. The directed media may comprise advertisement, coupons, video, music, or any other media which is customizable to the user.

  • Patent number: 7649537
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for processing data. The systems and methods include multiple processors that each couple to receive commands and data, where the commands and/or data correspond to frames of video that include multiple pixels. An interlink module is coupled to receive processed data corresponding to the frames from each of the processors. The interlink module divides a first frame into multiple frame portions by dividing pixels of the first frame using at least one balance point. The interlink module dynamically determines a position for the balance point that minimizes differences between the workload of the processors during processing of commands and/or data of one or more subsequent frames.

  • Patent number: 7639545
Abstract: Embodiments of a random access memory word line driver circuit that reduces consumption of standby power are described. The word line driver is based on NOR-gate logic in which, for memory array consisting of a plurality of memory cells and word line drivers, given two inputs selected one word line goes high and the rest remain zero. The decoder circuit comprises two PMOS transistors in series with an NMOS-based inverter circuit. This arrangement reduces the leakage current through the NMOS transistor when the word line is not selected. An array of word line drivers incorporating a NOR-based decoder includes a shared pull up PMOS transistor for one of two address lines. The shared pull-up PMOS transistor is manufactured to a size on the order of at least two times the width of the remaining transistors of each word line stage.

  • Patent number: 7630981
Abstract: Embodiments of an ontological determination method for use in natural language processing applications are described. In one embodiment, shallow lexico-syntactic patterns are applied to identify relations by extracting term features to distinguish relation terms from non-relation terms, identifying coordinate relations for every adjacent terms; identifying short-distance ontological (e.g., hypernym or part-whole relations) for other adjacent terms based on term features and lexico-syntactic patterns; and then inferring long-distance hypernym and part-whole relations based on the identified coordinate relations and the short-distance relations.

  • Patent number: 7619944
Abstract: Devices allow a system using a memory array, or the memory itself, to more efficiently control refresh intervals. This reduces standby current and the overhead associated with refresh operations. The device includes a variable analog refresh signal generation circuit that initiates a refresh operation on one or more memory cells of a memory array. The circuit integrates a refresh timer element with an event signal generator such that a refresh interval as defined by the refresh timer element is changed when events are detected that may change the data retention time of one or more memory cells. One or more of the circuits is placed to monitor an entire memory array, different sub-arrays, or different portions of different sub-arrays. This allows additional refresh operations to be closely tied to actual events, thus increasing overall efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7620597
Abstract: Embodiments of an online credit application system are described. The online credit application system displays a solicitation page requesting user credit score information and a selection of desired loan products. The user credit score information comprises a user's characterization of their own credit score. The system can be configured to obtaining the credit score for the user if the user does not provide the credit score in response to the solicitation. In response to the user's inquiry and information, the system displays a list of available loans based on the credit score and the selection of desired loan products. The user then selects a loan from the selection of desired loan products, after which the system requests user identification information to verify user qualification for the selected loan. Upon provisional qualification of the user for the loan product, the system obtains an actual credit score for the user based on detailed personal information of the user.

  • Patent number: 7619686
Abstract: A combination camcorder handset device in a clam-shell form factor that has at least two operational modes-one of which is a phone mode wherein the device is used by holding the device to the ear and talking, and another of which is a camera mode wherein the device is rotated on its side so the screen is pointed horizontally and the device is held in one hand just like a traditional camcorder. The angle of the device's clam-shell hinge determines the operational mode. The camera points in a direction perpendicular to the axis along which the keys on the keyboard keys move when pressed. The camera may be contained in a removable camera module. Straps on the keyboard half hold the device in place when the device is held with one hand during camera mode. Buttons along the side of the keyboard half perform functions such as shutter release, zoom-in, and zoom-out, and are within immediate access of the fingers of the hand that is holding the device.

  • Patent number: 7610409
Abstract: A Universal Serial Bus data transport method and its device is disclosed. Data transport is performed through a high-speed transport technique based on a Universal Serial Bus, which consists of Universal Serial Bus protocol for communication between the device and the host, and SCSI protocol for interaction between the device and the upper driver layer. A data transport device using the Universal Serial Bus thus uses the embedded driver inside the operating system, which may be self-loaded/self-initialized, and have high data transport speed, and convenient to use.

  • Patent number: 7598942
Abstract: The system provides a gestural interface to various visually presented elements, presented on a display screen or screens. A gestural vocabulary includes ‘instantaneous’ commands, in which forming one or both hands into the appropriate ‘pose’ results in an immediate, one-time action; and ‘spatial’ commands, in which the operator either refers directly to elements on the screen by way of literal ‘pointing’ gestures or performs navigational maneuvers by way of relative or “offset” gestures. The system contemplates the ability to identify the users hands in the form of a glove or gloves with certain indicia provided thereon, or any suitable means for providing recognizable indicia on a user's hands or body parts. A system of cameras can detect the position, orientation, and movement of the user's hands and translate that information into executable commands.
