  • Patent number: 7326908
Abstract: The present invention relates to the emission of light which occurs in proportion with an electrical signal, an optical signal, or the combination of both. The emission of light may occur due to the passage of current through a light-emitting polymer, or due to energy transfer of excitons from this polymer to light-emitting quantum dots. Optical sensitivity is achieved through the inclusion of another species of quantum dots whose absorption is generally at longer wavelengths relative to the light-emitting material. Light incident upon the device results in an enhanced current flow in the presence of an applied bias, and thus enhanced excitation of the light-emitting moity is achieved in proportion with the optical power absorbed by the light-absorbing moity. Two device architectures are presented, one based on a mutilayer structure in which the functions of light absorption and light emission are separated, and the other in which these functions are integrated within a single active region.

  • Patent number: 7321875
Abstract: A withdrawal of assets is initiated from a first account at a first financial institution. A deposit of the assets withdrawn from the first account is initiated to a second account at a second financial institution. The first account and the second account have a common account holder. The withdrawal and deposit of assets may be initiated after analyzing multiple accounts of the account holder and determining whether an adjustment of funds among the multiple accounts would benefit the account holder. A debit instruction is used to initiate the withdrawal of assets and a credit instruction is used to initiate the deposit of the withdrawn assets. The withdrawal and deposit of assets can be implemented using one or more payment networks, debit networks, or a wire transfer between the two financial institutions.

  • Patent number: 7320010
Abstract: In controlling electronic file updates, an upgrade system identifies host device models that include an original electronic file upon receipt of a new file, when the new file is an updated version of the original file. Using the identified model list, the upgrade system automatically generates a target list of subscribers that use the identified models. The upgrade system filters the target list using data of pre-defined user groups and generates subgroups of the target list. The pre-defined groups can include groupings made according to any criteria. The upgrade system selects an upgrade control policy for each user according to the subgroup to which the user is a member. The upgrade control policy controls device update parameters. The upgrade system transmits upgrades and/or upgrade notifications to the appropriate host devices in accordance with the selected upgrade control policies.

  • Patent number: 7313577
Abstract: In generating difference information between different file versions, a software component distributor (SCD) receives new files and corresponding original files. The SCD generates a new map file, hex file, and device memory map (DMM) for the new file. Module information is read from the new file using information of the new map file and hex file. The SCD, using the module information, compares the new DMM with the DMM of the original file, identifying inserted and deleted modules of the new file in response to the comparison. The SCD identifies remaining modules of the new file in which the contents remain the same as corresponding modules of the original file, where the remaining modules are modules of the new file not identified as inserted modules. The SCD generates difference information representative of the inserted modules, deleted modules, and remaining modules in which the contents remain the same.

  • Patent number: 7246058
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting voiced and unvoiced speech in acoustic signals having varying levels of background noise. The systems receive acoustic signals at two microphones, and generate difference parameters between the acoustic signals received at each of the two microphones. The difference parameters are representative of the relative difference in signal gain between portions of the received acoustic signals. The systems identify information of the acoustic signals as unvoiced speech when the difference parameters exceed a first threshold, and identify information of the acoustic signals as voiced speech when the difference parameters exceed a second threshold. Further, embodiments of the systems include non-acoustic sensors that receive physiological information to aid in identifying voiced speech.

  • Patent number: 7243320
Abstract: An Integrated Circuit Design tool incorporating a Stochastic Analysis Process (“SAP”) is described. The SAP can be applied on many levels of circuit components including transistor devices, logic gate devices, and System-on-Chip or chip designs. The SAP replaces a large number of traditional Monte Carlo simulations with operations using a small number of sampling points or corners. The SAP is a hierarchical approach using a model fitting process to generate a model that can be used with any number of performance memos to generate performance variation predictions along with corresponding statistical information (e.g., mean, three-sigma probability, etc.). The SAP provides an efficient way of modeling the circuit or system variation due to global parameters such as device dimensions, interconnect wiring variations, economic variations, and manufacturing variations.

  • Patent number: 7216320
Abstract: Systems and methods for timing-driven shape closure in integrated circuit (“IC”) fabrication are provided. These Integrated Design-Manufacturing Processes (“IDMP”) include a delta flow that integrates information of the IC fabrication timing and geometry verification processes into the IC design. The delta flow is an incremental flow that includes delta-geometry timing prediction processes and/or delta-timing shape prediction processes for processing difference information associated with circuit characterization parameters. The delta flow independently re-characterizes an IC design using the difference or delta information corresponding to the circuit characterization parameters. The delta flow provides delta outputs (incremental) that enhance or re-characterize corresponding parameters of the devices and interconnect structures without the need to generate new circuit characterization parameters and without the need to re-process all information of the IC design.
