  • Patent number: 7580682
Abstract: Embodiments of a link assessment and frequency monitoring system for use in wireless sensor networks are described. In one embodiment, each frequency utilized by links coupling two or more nodes in the network is sampled to determine a noise measure for each frequency. A correlation measure based on the distance between the noise measures for each pair of frequencies is determined. The frequencies are then clustered into a number of groups of frequencies based on the correlation measure between each pair of frequencies, such that the number of groups is less than the total number of frequencies. A representative frequency for each group of frequencies is selected, and a link quality assessment for each pair of nodes in the network is performed for the representative frequency of each group of frequencies.

  • Patent number: 7564737
Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided a method for controlling data output by a memory device. The method may include receiving a first clock signal having a first frequency. Moreover, a second and third clock signals may be produced from the first clock signal. The second and third clock signals may have second and third frequencies, respectively, that are about equal to the first frequency. The second and third frequencies may be out of phase relative to each other. A controller may output a first data in response to a rising edge of the second clock signal and output a second data in response to another rising edge of the third clock signal.

  • Patent number: 7516451
Abstract: A mobile device is provided that includes a first processor coupled among at least one additional processor and a communication device for use in maintaining electronic files of the device. The mobile device can, for example, be a cellular telephone. The mobile device further includes an upgrade engine coupled to the first processor. The upgrade engine receives maintenance files from remote servers via the communication device, where the maintenance files include difference files. The upgrade engine uses information of the difference files to update software of the first processor. In addition to the upgrade engine, the mobile device includes an emulator that is coupled to the upgrade engine. The emulator transfers pre-specified ones of the difference files to the additional processor(s) where a rewrite engine uses the difference files to upgrade software of the additional processor(s).

  • Patent number: 7509515
Abstract: A system and method for transmitting client phase information to a host device over a bidirectional data link is described. Embodiments include detecting a phase of a clock signal relative to a data signal transmitted between a host device and a client device over a bidirectional data link. The data link includes one or more data lines each configured to transmit a corresponding bit of the data signal. The phase is encoded as client phase information and transmitted between the host and client device over the one or more data lines. The client phase information is transmitted during an electrical turnaround time period of the bidirectional data link between a read and write operation over the data link.

  • Patent number: 7505937
Abstract: A withdrawal of assets is initiated from a first account at a first financial institution. A deposit of the assets withdrawn from the first account is initiated to a second account at a second financial institution. The first account and the second account have a common account holder. The withdrawal and deposit of assets may be initiated after analyzing multiple accounts of the account holder and determining whether an adjustment of funds among the multiple accounts would benefit the account holder. A debit instruction is used to initiate the withdrawal of assets and a credit instruction is used to initiate the deposit of the withdrawn assets. The withdrawal and deposit of assets can be implemented using one or more payment networks, debit networks, or a wire transfer between the two financial institutions.

  • Patent number: 7502119
Abstract: Reflectance systems and methods are described that use information of an intermediate reference signal to continuously monitor, detect and/or compensate for drift in a metrology system. The intermediate reference signal is present regardless of whether a sample is being measured. The reflectance system comprises components including a transmission element coupled to a sample area and a receiver. The transmission element is configured to route signals between components of the system. The signals include an illumination signal, and a sample signal resulting from interaction of the illumination signal with a sample when the sample is present in the sample area. The signals also include the reference signal that results from interaction of the illumination signal with one or more components of the system.

  • Patent number: 7487378
Abstract: An asymmetrical IO method and system are described. In one embodiment, a host device includes shared resources for data synchronization of the host device and a client device. The shared resources include a shared phase interpolator. In an embodiment, data lines between the host and client are also used to transmit phase information from the client device to the host device, obviating the need for additional, dedicated lines or pins.

  • Patent number: 7447869
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fragment processing in a virtual memory system are described. Embodiments of the invention include a coprocessor comprising a virtual memory system for accessing a physical memory. Page table logic and fragment processing logic scan a page table having a fixed, relatively small page size. The page table is broken into fragments made up of pages that are contiguous in physical address space and logical address space and have similar attributes. Fragments in logical address space begin on known boundaries such that the boundary indicates both a starting address of a fragment and the size of the fragment. Corresponding fragments in physical address space can begin anywhere, thus making the process transparent to physical memory. A fragment field in a page table entry conveys both fragment size and boundary information.
