  • Patent number: 4326757
Abstract: A bearing device having a sleeve bearing for small-sized dynamic electric machines, comprising a bearing support member of a rotary shaft supporting end bracket, and an inside annular projection which has a plurality of groove type inside oil reservoirs in the inner circumferential surface thereof and which is formed integrally with the bearing support member by a die casting mold. These inside oil reservoirs are provided in the same circumferential positions as oil returning bores in the bearing support member so as to be linearly communicated therewith. Owing to this construction, inner caps on the bearing support member, which are essential to a conventional bearing device of this kind, can be omitted. This allows the number of parts and the number of manufacturing steps to be reduced, and oil leak from inside caps as in a conventional bearing device can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4326666
Abstract: A centrifugal type counterflow contact apparatus having a rotary body or drum intergrally mounted on a rotary shaft, and a plurality of ring members disposed within the rotary body such that circumferential slits are defined between the adjacent ring members in the axial direction of the rotary drum. The ring members have a cross sectional configuration inclined with respect to the axis of the rotary body. A light liquid is introduced into the periphery of the rotary body while a heavy liquid is introduced in the center portion of the rotary body. The heavy and light liquids flow countercurrently through the slits between the ring members under the centrifugal force produced by the rotation of the rotary body, whereby extractability can be improved and accumulation of solids entrained in the feed can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 4326606
Abstract: The operation control section of an elevator system is constituted of two computers one of which shares the processing function with the other. One of the computers has a means for detecting an abnormality occurring in the other computer and stores therein a program for bringing the elevator cage to the nearest floor when the cage is stopped in an intermediate position between floors. If one of the computers falls in a fault, the cage is immediately stopped for assuring the safety of passengers. If the cage is stopped in the position between floors, the other computer causes the cage to be moved to the nearest floor for the rescue of the passengers.

  • Patent number: 4327282
Abstract: An electrical resistance heating element comprises at least one heating conductor of positive-temperature-coefficient material having contact means on opposite surfaces; if more than one, they may be arranged in a row or in a stack. Electrical connection is made to the heating conductor or the row or stack through two substantially plane contact plates adapted to the layout of the heating conductor, row or stack and placed loosely upon opposite contact surfaces thereof. The components are held together elastically by securing means holding the edges of the contact plates. Two alternative forms of securing means are described, one consisting of a series of U-shaped clips of elastic material distributed along the edges of the element, the other consisting of strips of U-shaped cross-section which are made of material with soft elastic properties and extend along respective opposite edges of the heating element.

  • Patent number: 4326391
Abstract: In a Rankine-cycle-engine-driven cooling-and-heating system comprising a power generating cycle including at least an expander, an oil separator, a condenser and a generator and a cooling-and-heating cycle including at least a compressor, an oil separator, a condenser, an expansion means and an evaporator, the housings of the expander and the compressor are so securely joined that a hermetically sealed space may be defined between them. This space is used as an oil separator which is common to both the cycles and is communicated with the outlet port of the expander and the discharge port of the compressor. As a result, the system can be made considerably compact in size as compared with the prior art systems in which the oil separator is disposed outside of the expander and the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4327436
Abstract: A supervisory and control system for a time division switching system supervising and controlling signals transferring to and from all or some of line interface equipment such as a digital trunk, analog trunk equipment, the intra-office line concentrators or remote line concentrator through a signal path. In the signal control, the signal is classified into two kinds of signals: one for cyclically controlling a state and the other for randomly controlling the same. Those signals are multiplexed in a single time slot to control the various line interfaces. Signal time slots having different multiframes and signal time slots with a plurality of periods are supervised depending on a signal path class thereby to reduce the number of laying cables among interframes.

  • Patent number: 4326838
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor for use in an air-conditioning system for vehicles. The compressor has a pair of cylindrical cylinder blocks which are disposed in axial alignment and contact with each other, cylinder bores formed in the cylinder blocks and pistons reciprocatably received by respective cylinder bores. A rotary shaft extends through the cylinder blocks coaxially with the latter, and carries a swash plate fixed thereto. The pistons are slidingly engageable with the swash plate such that they make reciprocating movement in respective cylinder bores as the swash plate is rotated. The swash plate is accommodated by a crank chamber defined in the pair of cylinder blocks. A lubrication oil is supplied to the sliding parts in the crank chamber. A pair of side plates are attached to respective ends of the cylinder blocks which are axially disposed and contacted by each other, through medium of valve plates.
