  • Patent number: 6409059
Abstract: Single and two-sided hand and finger thimbles constructed to mount over the fingertips to provide non-slip gripping surfaces and improved protection at the fingertips and palm. Several thimbles include surfaces that contain impenetrable shields, elastomer pads or raised patterns of a coated elastomer. The coated thimbles facilitate paper separation, sorting, and counting. Plastic or metallic shields can fitted to shield and/or encase the fingertip. The shield can be exposed through an aperture and can include a pitted surface. Pull-tabs and elastic sizing members facilitate fitting the thimbles to the fingers. Alternative wrist supported, glove-like assemblies having one or more finger pieces fitted with shielding and gripping assemblies and padded palm regions are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6405477
Abstract: A molded plastic keeper having an elongated stem and from which a series of 3-dimensional projections radiate. The projections can exhibit different shapes and offsets from the stem. In various constructions, a keeper with conical ribs is molded to the shank of a bare or wire at a jig or lure to support live bait or an artificial dressing. In another construction, the keeper is molded over a wire core that can be formed and mounted to a hook eye or cast into the body of a lure. In another construction, a hollow bore extends through the keeper and permits a threaded fitting over a fish line. A longitudinal slot can be included at a hollow bore keeper and/or the keeper can be constructed of a material that shrinks. A buoyant, weighted and/or hollow headpiece having a longitudinal bore can cooperate with the keeper and may support a rattle.

  • Patent number: 6390095
Abstract: A penile constriction collar that provides a relatively constant constriction pressure to a penis between flaccid and tumescent conditions. The collar is molded from medical grade silicone rubber having a durometer of 40-50 (±5) on the Shore “A” scale and exhibits a constriction force of 1.5 Kg (±0.5 Kg) over a range of changing diameter equal to or greater than 150%. One preferred collar exhibits a torroid or O'ring shape. Collars constructed with multiple regions of differing durometer and/or selected cross section shapes, and color can also be constructed to assure user comfort in erect and flaccid states.

  • Patent number: 6340269
Abstract: A below-grade, modular cast concrete containment vault which contains one or more primary liquid storage tanks. Dispensing pumps and sundry conduits and support equipment are attached to or supported within a cast cover. The cover is secured to the tanks. The pumps can be coupled to a remote control and communications kiosk. A manhole permits access to a ventilated secondary containment and inspection space within a base unit. Spill and overflow containment assemblies surround fill and vent pipes in the cover and direct spillage to the secondary storage space. Tertiary and auxiliary containment is also provided for spillage from the dispensing pumps and backup storage for the overflow containment assemblies. Additional standpipes communicate with the base and support additional monitoring and inspection equipment.

  • Patent number: 6329890
Abstract: Modular thin film, distributed, lumped element band-pass filters. The filter circuitry is configured on a number of ceramic substrates. The component defining depositions are arranged to overlap and couple to one another with connecting vias. Alternative band-pass filter and delay line circuits are disclosed that provide desirable delay characteristics. Bordering ground conductors and covering ground planes shield lumped impedance resonator and overlapping capacitor elements and/or provide a hermetic seal between the layers. The assemblies are configured to accommodate a range of frequencies and permit pre-fabrication with subsequent laser trimming, assembly and packaging.

  • Patent number: 6301822
Abstract: Fishing lures and assemblies that include magnets having pole faces mounted to an axial support to normally repel each other. Lure movement induces axial movement of the magnets and cooperating lure pieces to induce contact and separation and thereby audible sounds. Rattle chambers and/or sound enhancing structures can be provided to amplify created sounds. Magnets of differing shapes are disclosed that are arranged in different lure constructions (e.g. snelled assemblies, crank baits, spoon baits, wire form baits—bottom bouncers and spinner baits, jig lures and bell weights).

  • Patent number: 6280363
Abstract: A pedal powered exerciser including a pair of independent reciprocating push pedal drives. A pedal at each drive operates a chain trained between an idler axle and an independent live half axle. Inertial movement is sustained with a flywheel and overrunning clutch assembly at each live axle. Kinetic resistance at each live half axle can be selectively varied with a magnetic tension control assembly. A tubular framework supports the pedal slides, chains, flywheels, and magnetic tensioners. A pneumatic piston is hinged to self-adjust the angular orientation between main and base frames. A telescoping clamp assembly includes upper and lower jaws that are adapted to mount to a recliner footrest. The clamp assembly is longitudinally adjustable and detachable from a receiver to permit transport.

  • Patent number: 6207051
Abstract: A portable hydraulic fluid handler cart capable of transporting liquid storage containers and providing filtered fluid transfer. Quick-disconnect couplers at the cart and system adapters, along with replaceable filter cartridges, maintain fluid integrity at the system and serviced equipment. An electric motor, transfer pump, retractable extension cord and power control switch mount to the cart. Forks, rails and an adjustable clamp contain a liquid drum to the cart. A pair of handles and four wheels facilitate gripping, tipping and transport of drum containers. A kickstand stabilizes the cart when used alone. The filter media at the cart and adapters is selected to simultaneously filter liquid-borne and airborne particles and water from the fluid.

  • Patent number: 6196761
Abstract: A double-walled, below-grade, modular, liquid containment vault that contains one or more primary storage tanks. Dispensing pumps and sundry conduits and support equipment are attached to or supported to a cover or top wall of the vault. The outer shell or base and primary tanks of the vaults can be constructed from concrete, steel, fiberglass or other composites. In concrete and steel vaults, the cover is secured to the primary tanks. The cover can also be bound to the walls of the outer shell. The pumps can be coupled to a remote control and communications kiosk. A manhole turret provides access to a ventilated secondary containment and inspection space within a base unit. Spill and overflow containment turret assemblies surround fill and vent pipes in the cover and direct spillage to the secondary storage space. Tertiary and auxiliary containment is also provided for spillage from the dispensing pumps and backup storage for the overflow containment assemblies.

  • Patent number: 6170920
Abstract: A blow-molded wheel including an axle retainer assembly. The retainer assembly includes a housing having transverse sleeves that support an axle and a spring biased retainer pin that mounts to an annular groove at the axle. The housing is supported in a cavity formed into a wheel spoke and a bore of a wheel hub and is retained upon the shrinkage of the plastic around the housing. An aperture of the pin sleeve facilitates retraction of the pin and release of the wheel from the axle.

  • Patent number: 6135046
Abstract: A sea anchor having a leading edge that is outfitted with a flexible, resilient hoop member that biases the leading edge to self-expand. The hoop member is constructed from a material having no shape retaining memory and in a presently preferred form comprises a looped length of a coated spiral spring. A relatively substantial float extends along a substantial portion of the leading edge circumference and is mounted between a pair of short tether lines. Weights are mounted to the leading edge diametrically opposite the float and between a pair of longer tether lines. Vents mounted between the float and trailing edge release trapped air as the anchor inflates with collected water. A retrieval line is secured to guides along the length of the anchor and a storage strap is secured to the anchor.
