Abstract: A multi-filament lure dressing having an elastomer core piece which attaches to a fishing lure and supports one or more rattle chambers. A longitudinal bore extends through the core and bored appendages and/or additional filaments radially project from the core. Plastic rattles having flanged heads mount to the appendage bores. One or more multi-filamented silicone rubber skirts, which can include transverse projections, are wrapped and adhesively bonded to the core to obscure supported rattles. During construction, the primary bore of the core is fitted to a mandrel and a peripheral band of a skirt having spaced apertures, which is pre-coated with an adhesive, is wrapped about the core and supported to a pin retainer fitted to the mandrel. An elastomer band clamp contains the wrapped skirt through adhesive curing. Once set, the wrapped skirt is cut from the mandrel and trimmed to prepare the skirt for mounting to a lure.
Abstract: A jigging lure having a weighted body molded to a fish hook and including a beaded trailer hook. A flapper piece oscillates with lure movement about a projecting extension of the hook shank to strike the body and produce audible sound. The flapper is secured to the body with a split ring at aligned apertures and from a slot which mounts about the hook extension. The eye of the trailer hook is secured to the shank of the primary hook and a bead is molded to the trailer hook. A variety of dressings mount to the bead including multi-filament skirts and molded plastic tails.
Abstract: Molding apparatus including a thermally transmissive mold liner and a packing nub having a spring biased positioning pin for uniformly forming and molding grinding wheels. A locating pin at a bottom mold plate secures the liner to the bottom plate and indexes a threaded arbor and the nub to the pin. The positioning pin positions the nub to the arbor. Upon leveling a charge of a mixture of resin adhesive and abrasive material, a top plate is concentrically fitted to the nub and liner. The pressing of the top plate and nub with the bottom of the nub aligning with the bottom of the positioning pin provides uniform compaction. The liner supports the molded green wheel during curing and after which the wheel is removed.
Abstract: A trailered, short stroke reduction grinder including a telescoping, multi-stage push ram and hydraulic grinding head which are operable from seat mounted joy sticks in an enclosed operator cabin. Collected reduction materials are pushed to a grinding channel defined between multiple arcuate, sizing screens and the rotating grinding head. A hydraulic shear bar controls the entry of the material to the grinding channel. The grates of the sizing screen are arranged to provide a plurality of reduction apertures of progressively increasing size and differing geometric shape. A single hydraulic motor and belt drive linkage control the grinding head and permit forward and reverse operation. High density plastic slide bearings at cross supports of a discharge conveyor support a ribbed belt.
Abstract: Portable apparatus for inducing an alternating electrical gradient into an impounded liquid media and including, directionally sensitive, sensing apparatus for monitoring gradients established in the liquid to detect leaks at a liquid impermeable membrane. A conductive electrode floated on the liquid directs an amplified square wave signal into the liquid at a 5 to 15 hertz frequency relative to a ground reference established outside the membrane. First and second recessed sensors in a portable, hollow tubular probe are manipulated within the liquid. A portable signal processor monitors a changing signal between the sensors as the probe is moved in the liquid. The sensed and source signals are snychronously sampled, integrated, subtracted in a positive correlation arrangement, and amplified to reject common mode signals within the liquid.
Abstract: A modular fastener system for securing conductive cabling to a variety of surfaces and wiring devices. In a strap configuration, a base support includes a pair of standoffs and a connecting bridge piece that define a conductor support channel. The base standoffs include wall fasteners and a plurality of bores having serrated surfaces. A plurality of ribbed protrusions project from exposed surfaces of each base and retainer bridge. A retainer strap includes a pair of standoffs having serrated bores and a connecting bridge. A plurality of serrated prongs extend from the retainer standoffs and align to provided bores at the base and other retainer straps to define further conductor support channels, upon vertically stacking a number of retainer straps to the base and/or each other. In various wiring devices, the base may include a spanner bracket, a fixed or gangeable junction box or a bushing collar.
Abstract: A modular endless track assembly which bolts to the wheel of a wheeled vehicle (e.g. pickup truck or ATV). The assembly includes a wheel retainer plate, drive drum, track frame and plurality of idler wheels, track tension adjuster, and vehicle support bracket. The drive drum and idler wheels cooperate with lugs and channels at the track. The support bracket includes an anti-torque coupler mounted between the vehicle and track frame. The coupler centers the track to an equilibrium position and prevents over rotation. The mounting position of the coupler and mounting brackets is varied at the track frame to accommodate front and rear wheel track assemblies. A recurring, W-shaped groove pattern at the track cooperates with the idler wheels to self-clean the track and maintain controlled vehicle steering.
Abstract: An internal, self-supporting, tent suppot framework. The collapsible framework includes a number of side and ridge support poles which mount to radially adjustable pole couplers. The couplers retain the support poles at preferred angular orientations in multiple wall planes as a support skeleton for an overlying fabric cover. Each coupler includes a pair of cast sleeves wherein a body piece includes a longitudinal bore, a projecting wing arm and a pair of hinge arms having transverse bores. A horizontal pole couples the hinge arms together in one plane, as a pair of other poles are supported to the longitudinal bores in a second plane at a splay angle established by the wing arms. The wing arms overlap and are retained with a fastener fitted between the arms.
Abstract: A tapered wedge for coupling a hollow tubular hockey stick handle to a solid blade. A tapered surface of a multi-surface, wedge is shaped to mate to a complimentary surface of a mounting tang at the stick. A threaded screw follower is fitted to the wedge and is accessible at a slot in the blade. Threads at the follower mate to a bore at the blade and upon rotating the screw follower, the wedge and tang are drawn into compression with the handle.
Abstract: A multi-season, reversible tent adapted to accommodate prevailing solar conditions. Selected walls are constructed to include insulated liners and solar reflective and absorptive surfaces which cooperate with a longitudinal access opening. The walls assemble to an irregular triangular shape and can be reversed to optimally collect and reflect solar and thermal radiation in relation to one or more occupants and the prevailing conditions. Zippered reliefs at the door control the solar exposure of the wall surfaces and facilitate entry and egress. Multi-section, shock corded, end support frames are permanently contained at hemmed edges of the end walls. Adjoining pole ends are hinged to one another and longitudinal poles extend between eyelets at the hinge joints. Removeable cover, screen and window panels are supported to the door periphery. Rotating vents with overlapping apertures control interior temperature.
Abstract: Liquid containment apparatus comprising a metal storage tank mounted within a liquid impermeable, cast concrete vault. An open-topped, reinforced cast concrete vault base includes an internal thermal liner, liquid impermeable membrane, vault seal, tank cradles and support legs. Sloped interior walls, a sump and siphon facilitate liquid and/or condensate removal from the base. A vault cover is integrally cast with the tank and supports a number of projecting fill, vent, gauge, inspection, and siphon standpipes. Chamfered edges at the cover and lift hooks facilitate cover removal, alignment and tank inspection.
