Abstract: A system and method for processing and reusing graywater. At least two vertical flow wetland units are provided, each of which comprises a container filled with at least one granular substrate and at least one species of a hygrophilous plant, and an outlet. At least one of the wetland units is set to an inactive state during a predetermined period of time such that influx of graywater to each of the inactive units is prevented, to regenerate each inactive wetland units. At least one of the wetland units is set to an active state to allow introduced graywater to be purified. Purified graywater is discharged from the outlet of each active unit to a sink. At least a portion of the purified graywater is recirculated to each active wetland units so that a portion of the purified graywater, when desired, is discharged to a domestic site for reuse.
Abstract: A multi-layer bag assembly is used with a housing for collecting particles from air flowing through the multi-layer bag assembly. Multi-layer bag assembly includes at least two bags arranged one inside the other. Each of the bags includes an air permeable filtering material for collecting particles carried by air flowing through the material. The air permeable filtering material being may be the same or different for the at least two bags. The multi-layer bag assembly includes structure for holding the at least two bags in a wide open position. The structure may be a cooperating bag structure incorporated in the at least two bags for cooperating with the housing for selectively holding the respective bags in their respective open conditions. The structure may also be a removable collar attached to at the open portion of the at least two bags, where the removable collar is part of an integral collar of the multi-layer bag assembly.
Abstract: A man overboard rescue device for use on a boat has a net with means of attaching a first end thereof to a boat and with a second opposed end thereof adapted for attaching to a hoisting means. The device further comprising a sinking means, a foreguy and an extendable pole, so as to provide a partially submerged scoop for the man overboard.
Abstract: A safe of the swing and slide type has a closing stile which has a landing surface for the safe door and a pocket for housing the closing edge of the door. That edge is outwardly turned to prevent the insertion of a pry bar between the door and the hook of the closing stile. The pocket has a ramp face which guides the closing edge of the door during the slide open and slide closed phases. In different variants, a ramp face is provided on the door also; a second ramp face is provided on the hook of the closing stile; a door seat is incorporated into ramp.
Abstract: A continuous method for making a thermoset resin matrix, which is reinforced with predominantly continuous fibers, and the product made from that method. The product can be produced at a thickness below about 0.060?, or even below a thickness of about 0.035?, and incorporated as a material to combine with or attach to other products for providing an increased strength to those other products, such as wood support beams (gluelam), wood laminates, truck floors and trusses. The product can also be used to strengthen composite thermoplastic lumber, other thermoplastic extrusions and moldings, and aluminum extruded products, as well as for being added to pultruded or molded thermoset plastic products to allow for specific areas of increased strength while maintaining a low reinforcement level in other areas and for providing a resin rich surface.
Abstract: The invention relates to an ultrasound measuring device for a container. A coupling device supporting an ultrasound transducer serves for coupling and asymmetric alignment of the ultrasound transducer with respect to the container. This causes a sound field of the interfering signal in an ultrasound measurement to propagate within the container in an asymmetric fashion with respect to planes of symmetry of the container, whereby the interfering signal that is received at the site of injection is attenuated relative to a useful signal.
Abstract: A medical drilling device for drilling of human or animal tissue carries a drill (7) that is electrically contacted by a bore electrode (9) and a backing electrode (10). Both electrodes (9, 10) are charged by a resistance-measuring device (11) in a way, that electrical resistance of tissue (2, 3, 4), preferably impedance, as measured between the drill (7) and the backing electrode (10) becomes measurable. By means of a monitoring device (13), the surgeon is provides with information about the type of the respective tissue and the depth of drilling.
Abstract: A method of preventing or treating diseases caused by Mycobacterium, comprising administering to a subject in need of such treatment an effective amount of a pleuromutilin.
Abstract: A portable tool kit comprising a self-releasing clasp such that the clasp is released as a main body is rotated about a handle axle from a closed position to an open position with reference to a handle assembly. The main body and handle assembly cooperate to wholly enclose a set of tools when in the closed position. When in an open position, the tools of the main body are exposed to selection and rotation about a rivet of the main body cooperating with a biasing device of a biasing rivet of the main body to hold the tool in place. When fully extended, the main body and handle assembly permit the selection of a plurality of tools such as Phillips head and flat head screwdrivers of different sizes for extension from within the main body for use. Moreover, lamps may be provided on either end of the handle assembly for illuminating a work area.
Abstract: A package for flat, pliable objects, such as for wafer-shaped or film-shaped drug forms. The package has a carrier layer, a cover layer which is detachably connected to the carrier layer, and a first surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer and is completely surrounded by a margin area. A cavity, enclosed on all sides, is formed for accommodating an object. The package has a second surface region wherein the carrier layer is not connected to the cover layer. At least one perforation line extends at least partially within the second surface region, and is provided both in the carrier layer and in the cover layer. Severing the perforation line forms a free edge of the cover layer which serves as a gripping aid and enables manual removal of the cover layer from the carrier layer. The disclosure further covers a process for packaging flat, pliable objects by forming the above-described package.

Abstract: A stretch film comprising a base film made of a stretchable plastic film material, a multiplicity of holes in the base film arranged in several columns along a main direction, at least one reinforcement strip made of a stretchable plastic film material. The reinforcement strip is arranged and fixed on the base film in an area between two adjacent columns of holes. The thickness of the base film is greater than or equal to the thickness of the reinforcement strip and the width (w) of the reinforcement strip is as great as possible, but is such that the reinforcement strip does not contact or overlap the holes in the adjacent columns of holes. The reinforcement strip may be fixed to the base film so as to be inseparable and indistinguishable from the base film.
