Abstract: An improved paint edger is provided having a laterally elongated edger head supported by a perpendicularly affixed handle. The blade itself is formed integrally to the frame, but demarcated by a joint aligning the tapered upper surface. Opposite the tapered upper surface, a flat lower surface is recessed by an offset of a specific dimension to receive an absorbent tape. The tape is affixed to the flat lower surface by an adhesive, and provides an absorbent material to provide a wicking action for paint that may pass the outer edge. Finally, the tape is provided with a non-porous barrier film that prevents passage of fluid (paint) and allows the paint to be retained within the tape.
Abstract: A ski boot sole for cooperating with a ski binding to releasably hold the sole in the binding, the sole having a forward toe sole extending rearwardly from the front of the sole to a forward gap, a toe exterior insert in the forward gap which is located over a forward depression in the base of the ski boot, a central sole extending rearwardly from the front gap, a heel exterior insert located in a rearward gap over a rearward depression in the boot base and a heel sole extending from the rearward end of the rearward gap at least to the end of the boot. The foregoing boot sole is in combination with the base of the boot, and the base has forward and rearward recesses for receiving toe holders rotating about longitudinally extending axes and heel holders rotating about a transverse axis for releasably locking the respective toe exterior insert and heel exterior insert to the binding.

Abstract: A chair with a tilting seat and a back piece carried by a back support, wherein a bearing block is provided, in which an eccentric cam can rotate, a rod passes eccentrically through the eccentric cam and is connected to it without the ability to rotate, and at one end it is connected to a handle by which it can be turned. An arm is provided in which the rod is mounted such that it can turn. The tilting of the seat can be adjusted in more than just two positions and the adjustments are secured against unintentional change. The bearing block is provided on the back support and the arm on the bottom side of the seat, a detent sleeve is joined to the aforementioned end of the rod, unable to rotate, but able to slide along the rod between a first and a second position.
Abstract: Compounds of formula wherein R1 and R1? are hydrogen or deuterium, R2, R3 and R4 are hydrogen or deuterium, R5 is the residue of an amino acid, X is S or N-ALK, is piperidinyl or tetrahydropyridinyl, ALK is (C1-4)alkyl, and R6 is hydrogen, hydroxy or (C2-12)acyloxy, and their use as antimicrobials.
Abstract: A method for measuring the velocity of a multiphase fluid flowing in a pipe. The method comprises directing at least two collimated beams of light from an illuminator through the multiphase fluid by transparent portions of the pipe. The at least two collimated beams are spaced apart in a direction of flow of the multiphase fluid by a predetermined distance. The method also includes detecting scattered, deflected and attenuated light with at least two photodetectors to produce at least two signals. The at least two photodetectors are associated with the at least two collimated beams. The method also includes calculating a cross-correlation function between the at least two signals to determine a time delay between the signals and calculating the average velocity of the multiphase fluid by taking the ratio of the predetermined distance to the time delay.
