Abstract: A disc has an axial bore therethrough. A semiannular slot having a diameter smaller than that of the disc is formed through the disc with its ends on a diameter of the disc. One end of the slot is adjacent the circumference of the disc and the other end thereof is adjacent the axial bore between the bore and a point diametrically opposite that adjacent the one end of the slot. A plurality of spaced accommodation slots extend radially in mutually spaced relation in the area of approximately half the circumference of the disc. The disc is rotatably mounted for rotation via a stud passing through the slot of the chain bar of a chain saw and affixed to the housing casting of the saw. A bar pin passes through the slot of the disc and is affixed to the chain bar in a manner whereby when the disc is rotated by a tool in the accommodation slots in a manner whereby when the bar pin is given a forward thrust, the bar pin is moved thereby moving the chain bar to tighten the chain of the saw.

Abstract: A relay system maintains an emergency door opening device circuit open so that a door of a structure remains closed as long as an electrically energized ventilation system of the structure is supplied with electrical energy from a commercial power source. When the power fails, the relay system closes the emergency door opening device circuit, which includes its own power source, to operate a door opening device which opens a door to the structure to provide emergency ventilation for the structure.

Abstract: A plurality of wheels are rotatably mounted on the surface of a plate type member in a manner whereby the member is movable on different types of terrain. The member supports a rider on its top surface.

Abstract: A receptacle is affixable to an end of an electric cord. The receptacle has a housing in which the end of the electric cord is inserted. The housing has a hinged cover which may be pressed to a closed position to place cutting contacts in electrical contact with the conductors of the electric cord. The cutting contacts extend from contact strips which are electrically connectible to female plug ferrules. The ferrules accommodate terminal prongs of a utensil. The plug ferrules may be of equal diameter for use with non-polarized utensils. The diameter of one of the ferrules may be larger than the other for use with polarized utensils.

Abstract: A housing has an open-topped hemispherical recess in its top to accommodate a spherical ball. The ball is attached to one end of a cable which is itself secured to a spring loaded reel inside the housing. When ejector means are operated by the user's foot, the ball is ejected upwardly out of the recess, so as to enable the ball to be hit by a bat. As the ball travels after being hit, the cable reels off the reel, winding up the spring on the reel. The spring on the reel then retracts the cable to bring the ball back for a subsequent use.

Abstract: A plate is affixable to the body of an automotive vehicle over a hole in the trunk of the vehicle for replacing the trunk lock of the vehicle. The plate has a central aperture formed therethrough and a protrusion therearound. The protrusion has a slotted hole formed through a base end thereof with a plurality of keyway slots formed therearound to accommodate a trunk lock replacement.

Abstract: A rack mountable on the bumper of an automotive vehicle comprises a first frame for clamping onto the bumper of the vehicle. The first frame includes two vertical members interconnected by two horizontal members. Part of the vertical members is formed to conform to the bumper. Hook bolts and associated fasteners are provided to secure the first frame to the bumper. A separate second frame is slidably mounted on the first frame and extends upwardly therefrom. The second frame is adapted to carry a bicycle. The second frame comprises a pair of parallel U-shaped frames, having adjacent open ends with one frame overlapping the other. The U-shaped frames are connected to each other with a distance therebetween. One of the U-shaped frames has a closed end provided with more than one member extending therefrom transversly to the plane of the frame. The member has bumps formed therein for retaining a bicycle thereon.

Abstract: An upright housing has a transparent side. A plurality of compartments are positioned in rows and columns in upright arrangement in the housing next-adjacent the transparent side. Each column represents a day of the week and each row represents a week of a month. Each compartment is adapted to store a day's medication. A calendar marking indication on the transparent side of the housing labels each compartment as a different day of the month. An opening is formed through the bottom of the transparent side of the housing. A chute device in the housing extends in common from each of the compartments to the opening. A key-operated control device maintains medication in each compartment and releases medication from a selection compartment to the opening upon operation.

Abstract: A cutter for cutting wood is adjustably mounted in a handle and extends beyond the handle at a first end of the handle. A cutter positioning device in the handle is coupled to the cutter in the handle and has a manually operable part extending from a second opposite end of the handle for selectively positioning the cutter relative to the first end of the handle. A gage for maintaining a selected space between the cutter and a workpiece is adjustably mounted in the handle at the first end thereof. A diverting device in the handle diverts wood particles cut from a workpiece by the cutter to a side of the handle.

Abstract: An elongated cylindrical handle has a diametrical bore formed therethrough intermediate the ends thereof. A shower arm wrench body of hollow cylindrical configuration has an inner diameter equal to the diameter of the handle and an outer diameter greater than the diameter of the handle and is internally threaded and extends coaxially with a first end of the handle. A plurality of planar strips are equiangularly spaced from each other and taper downward to a second, opposite, end of the handle from an area spaced from the second end. The second end is insertable into a gas log lighter flange for tightening such flange. An axial bore formed in the handle from the second end accommodates the stem of a log lighter valve and has a plurality of equiangularly spaced grooves formed therein at the second end of the handle. A torque handle of shaft-like configuration is releasably accommodated in the diametrical bore of the handle for applying a torque thereto.

Abstract: A waste receptacle is provided at the bottom of a mobile, wheeled, open topped vessel. A suction pipe in the vessel is coupled to, and extends from, a water supply pipe into the vessel. A drain pipe extends from the vessel at the bottom thereof for draining water from the vessel. A motor driven pump and a plurality of valves mounted on the outside of the vessel selectively apply the pump to the pipes whereby in one valve operation the pump supplies water via the water supply pipe under pressure and the output of the nozzle cleans the surface of an item onto which it is directed in the vessel so that material removed from the item is collected in the waste receptacle, and in another valve operation, the pump draws water or water mixtures from the vessel through the suction pipe and discharges under pressure via a high pressure hose and nozzle. In another valve operation, the pump draws water from the water supply and discharges it under high pressure via a high pressure hose for external cleaning.

Abstract: An AND gate has a first input biased ON and a second input normally biased OFF. A switch selectively biases the second input ON. The output of the AND gate is fed back to the second input to bias the second input ON when the output is ON. A transistor connected in a common collector configuration has its base electrode connected to the output of the gate. A light-emitting diode is connected in the emitter circuit of the transistor.

Abstract: A toilet paper holder constitutes a free-standing portable cabinet with half disc-shaped projections extending from the front edges of the sides. A roll of toilet paper is rotatably mounted between the projections. The cabinet stores spare rolls of toilet paper and is closed by a hinged door.

Abstract: A sound transmitting system has a large speaker mounted in a chamber formed in an article of furniture under the thorax area of a person resting on the article of furniture. A pair of arcuate members are mounted on the article of furniture at the person's head and have four distinct loudspeaker chambers enclosed therein for directing multichannel or single channel sound into the ears of the person. Each semicircular arcuate portion has a pair of speakers separated by an internal bulkhead mounted in the chambers thereof.

Abstract: Electric heating elements are provided on thermal insulation at the bottom of a housing. A flat pan type water container has a bottom resting on the electric heating elements and a top in spaced parallel relation with the bottom and has perforations formed through the top for releasing steam produced by heating water in the container. A plurality of U-shaped support members are removably mounted in the housing in spaced parallel relation extending perpendicularly from the bottom of the housing and extending beyond the housing. Each of the support members has pan supporting devices for supporting a plurality of baking pans within the support members in spaced parallel relation with the bottom of the housing. A cover of transparent material is provided over the support members.

Abstract: A hand auger comprises a frustoconical sheet of material split along a lateral strip to form a pair of lateral edges in spaced relation radially and circumferentially. One of the edges is an inner edge of predetermined length and the other of the edges is an outer edge having a length longer than the predetermined length and extending beyond the inner edge at the bottom edge of the sheet. The bottom edge of the sheet is of spiral configuration from the bottom of the inner edge to the bottom of the outer edge. The base edge is of split circular configuration.

Abstract: A device for securing an object such as a wallet in a pocket of a pair of pants has a body member and a clip attached to an upper portion of the body member. A wedge extends from a side of the body member. The wedge abuts the object in the pocket when the clip is on a belt of the pair of pants to secure the object in the pocket.

Abstract: A pair of C-type open hook members extend from a first surface of a plank-type member in spaced parallel relation with each other at intermediate points between the ends of the member. The hook members releasably support a rifle at points thereof between the barrel and stock. A pair of bands of soft material are mounted on the first surface of the member at the opposite ends thereof. A fastening device affixes the member to the roof of a vehicle in the cab of the vehicle parallel to the upper edge of the windshield with the opposite surface of the member abutting the roof whereby the member releasably supports a rifle in the hook members thereof with the bands preventing scratching of the stock and barrel.

Abstract: An endless belt is mounted on, and extends between, a pair of elongated rollers rotatably mounted in a housing in spaced parallel relation parallel to, and in proximity with, the top and bottom of the housing. A plurality of shelf members are affixed to the belt and extend perpendicularly from the belt in spaced parallel relation for releasably storing files between next-adjacent shelf members. A motor coupled to one of the rollers rotates the rollers and the belt to move the shelf members cyclically from top to bottom to top inside the housing. An opening is formed in the front of the housing and covered by a selectively openable door to provide access to the shelf members for inserting and removing files.

Abstract: A plurality of rolls of flexible fence cable are wound on a shaft in a drum. The free ends of the cables outside the drum are affixed to a cross bar in spaced parallel relation with each other. The fence cables are unwound through side holes formed in the drum and via a guide member in the drum and are extended via the cross bar to the next-adjacent fence post.
