  • Patent number: 4172406
Abstract: A pair of headphones has a right speaker for the right ear and a left speaker for the left ear of the user. The speakers are electrically connected to each other and to a sound input source whereby the speakers reproduce sound from the sound input source. A pair of goggles is coupled to the headphones and covers the eyes of the user. A plurality of lamps are provided in the goggles, visible to the user. A microphone is electrically connected in circuit with a source of electrical energy and the lamps whereby sound reproduced by the speakers is picked up by the microphone, converted into electrical energy which varies in intensity with variations in the sound, and varies the energization of the lamps to provide a light pattern which varies in accordance with variations in the sound.

  • Patent number: 4172610
Abstract: A plurality of ice cube grappling members are equiangularly pivotally mounted via pivot pins at the bottom of a tubular member for movement to a closed position in which they come into close proximity with each other at an area beyond the tubular member and to an open position in which they spread apart from each other at the area to encompass and grapple an ice cube. A rod extends through the tubular member and is movable in axial directions therein. A disc is affixed to the rod at an end thereof outside the tubular member and the grappling members are coupled to the disc. A spring in the chamber urges the disc in a direction which maintains the grappling members in closed position. The rod is manually movable against the action of the spring to move the grappling members to open position.

  • Patent number: 4169593
Abstract: An inflated balloon is positioned in a chamber having a top with a hole formed therethrough. An elastic partition is supported above the chamber and has a plurality of needles affixed thereto and extending perpendicularly therefrom into the hole. A partition with a plurality of mutually spaced holes formed therethrough is positioned above the elastic partition. A plurality of marbles are dropped by the players through the holes of the partition having the holes therethrough so that when a sufficient number of marbles rest on the elastic partition, the weight thereon stretches the center area of the elastic partition downward sufficiently to force a needle thereof through the hole in the top of the chamber into the balloon thereby bursting the balloon.

  • Patent number: 4165553
Abstract: A support device pivotally supports a resilient body on the leading surface of a sliding door frame in a manner whereby the gravitational force on the body moves the body between a sliding door and the frame. The body is manually movable away from the door and the frame, so that the body is positioned by gravitational force in abutment with the leading surface of the door when the door is closed. This permits the door to be securely closed with its leading edge in abutment with the frame. The body is interposed by gravitational force between the leading edge of the door and the frame when the door is open thereby preventing the door from closing fully by preventing the leading edge of the door from abutting the frame and thus protecting hands from being crushed between the door and the frame.

  • Patent number: 4161310
Abstract: An elongated bar is pivotally affixed at one end thereof to one end of a shaft-like support member for rotation in the plane of the bar and the support member in directions toward and away from the support member. A base plate affixed to the opposite end of the support member supports it in upright position adjacent a metal fence post. A rod-like cross member is affixed to the bar at the pivoted end thereof and extends perpendicularly thereto. A coupling device couples the bar to the fence post so that when the coupling device is positioned astraddle the fence post and in contact with a projection of the fence post and with the cross member of the bar, manual force applied downward in the area of the second end of the bar exerts a much greater force upward on the fence post.

  • Patent number: 4153183
Abstract: A funnel type container is mounted above a bar with its axis vertical. A stop member is mounted on a cross member in the container at the open top thereof and extends coaxially toward the bottom in spaced relation therewtih. A plurality of tubular members are telescopically slidably coupled to each other. One of the tubular members is slidable coupled to the open bottom of the container and extends therethrough whereby in extended position the tubular members extend a maximum distance from the container and direct ice cubes stored in the container to glasses on the bar. In a withdrawn position, the one of the tubular members extends into the container and abuts the stop member thereby blocking the bottom of the container and preventing ice cubes from leaving the container.
