  • Patent number: 7824425
Abstract: An ambidextrous locking clamp system for providing a user the ability to alter the configuration of a hand operated device allowing a right or left handed user to operate the device. The device has a hingedly connected first and second elongated member each with a finger engaging member, a working head, and an indicator for identifying if the clamp is setup for left or right handed operation. At least two inter-engaging latching members are removably attachable to the first and the second elongated members. The latching members are symmetrical, interchangeable, and reversible, allowing a user to change the configuration of the ambidextrous device. The latching members can be retained to the elongated members by a rotatably lever, a removable retaining cap, or a removable retaining pin. Additionally, the latching members can be incorporated into removable finger engaging members, thereby allowing the entire finger engaging member and latching member to be removed, interchanged or reversed.

  • Patent number: 7810338
Abstract: A control method for the air-conditioning treatment of products cyclically measures, at definable time intervals, the product temperature and, according thereto, automatically adjusts several environmental parameters inside the treatment chamber. In order to provide a process that is automatic and gentle and to save energy and time in comparison to conventional methods, actual values for a characteristic temperature of the product, the temperature of the air inside the treatment chamber and the temperature of the incoming air are measured in each cycle. At least at the beginning of the treatment process, the desired final state of the product is defined based on characteristic parameters, and set values for the measured parameters for the next cycle are automatically determined from the measured and defined parameters and, in the next measuring cycle, are compared with the respective actual values.

  • Patent number: 7806778
Abstract: The invention relates to a putter head for a golf putter and to a golf putter that includes the putter head and a putter shaft secured to the putter head. The putter head includes a first head part, that defines the striking face of the putter, and a second head part that is located operatively rearwardly of the first head part and that is displaceable on guide rods with respect to the first head part along a line extending substantially perpendicularly to the striking face defined by the first head part. Securing screws displaceable within the second head part can engage the respective guide rods for securing the location of the head parts with respect to one another. A shaft securing formation is associated with the first head part and permits securing of a putter shaft to the putter head in different angular configurations with respect thereto.

  • Patent number: 7778455
Abstract: According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a system of and method for processing a digitized image derived from detector instrumentation (11) to form a reconstructed image. In a typical image processing system (9), ?-rays (10) impinge upon a gamma camera unit (11), defining detector instrumentation, and then pass through a lead collimator (12) to cause a scintillator (14) to emit light in the visible electromagnetic spectrum at given locations above an array of analogue photomultiplier tubes (16). With appropriate circuitry (18) these analogue signals may then be digitized, by means of processor (20), and then stored in memory (22). The present invention aims to more accurately reconstruct these digital images, with, in broad terms, the raw data stored in memory (22) being sent to a processor (24), which processes the data in terms of algorithms that form part of the invention.

  • Patent number: 7703332
Abstract: The invention provides a tensile tester, for characterising the extension properties of a fabric, comprising: a plurality of dual-mode fabric-engaging units located at a plurality of points. The fabric-engaging units are operable in a first fabric-gripping mode to releasably grip a fabric to be tested, and in a second fabric-tensioning mode to impart tension to a fabric to be tested, between gripped points, by displacing the fabric. The tester also has force measurement means to measure the tension so imparted and displacement measuring means to measure the displacement of the fabric. The fabric-engaging units are arranged and controlled so as to measure displacement-force characteristics along two or more axes of the fabric to be tested. Embodiments of the invention allow for determination of stretch characteristics in the Course, Wale, and two Bias directions of a fabric, as well as the characterisation of tension decay.
