  • Patent number: 4600471
Abstract: Method of transporting and processing substrates with developing agent within a confined passage. Pressurized fluid medium is supplied and discharged on both sides of the substrate via sequentially located fluid medium supply and discharge channels intersecting the top and bottom of the passage, such that the moving fluid medium cushions the substrate and both sides of the substrate remain free of the passage. Developing agent is introduced via a developing agent supply channel intersecting the passage.

  • Patent number: 4599679
Abstract: Fuse panel or bus bar assemblies for supporting a plurality of fuses within an automotive electrical system. The bus bar assembly is characterized by its rugged simplicity, enabling the simultaneous support of as many as 20 fuses. A non-conductive housing is provided for support of a pair of metallic bus bars, each bus bar having a plurality of downwardly bent tangs defined in its sides. The bus bars are mated 180.degree. out-of-phase and fitted together, such that in the individual pairs the downwardly bent tangs define a seat for the fuse blades. Adjacent electrical terminal receptacles are provided within the housing such that the fuse blades may contact the appliance terminal simultaneously with contact of the pairs of downwardly bent tangs.

  • Patent number: 4596189
Abstract: An improved lithographic printing plate which comprises (a) a substrate with (b) a substantially planar porous metal coating on at least one surface of the substrate and (c) a light-sensitive coating on the porous metal coating on the substrate. The substrate (a) can be made by a process for forming a substantially planar porous metal coating on a substrate which comprises thermal spraying of the metal on the substrate to form a porous metal coating on the substrate, rolling the sprayed coating to render it substantially planar and in the process close the pores, and the removing part of the surface to improve planarity and to reopen the surface-connected pores. The metal to be sprayed may be in the form of a wire, powder or molten metal mass and be selected from the group consisting of aluminum, zinc, tin, copper, nickel, or their alloys. Preferably, the substrate is selected from the gorup consisting of steel, aluminum, aluminized or galvanized steel, tin plate, and plastic.

  • Patent number: 4594129
Abstract: Improved process installation (10) for double floating transport and processing of substrates (30), consisting of successive transporters (18) with process slots (28) positioned in between and tape (80) as transporting means for said substrates (30) and whereby tensioning means (24), (96) and (104) prevent an unallowable deformation of the transporters (18) and tape (80) during the processing with accompanying heat development.

  • Patent number: 4576109
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a coating, particularly for coating and advancing a substrate within a longitudinal passage having a plurality of transversely arrayed gaseous medium supply channels and a plurality of vacuum discharge channels intersecting the passage. A plurality of transversely arrayed coating medium supply channels intersect a processing side of the passage adjacent the vacuum discharge channels. Also, a restriction gap is defined in the passage intermediate the coating material supply channels and the vacuum discharge channels so as to insure filling of a first coating passage with coating material.

  • Patent number: 4573503
Abstract: An improved bottle closure having a dropper, wherein the rubber suction element of the dropper has a posterior end, extending through the closure element, and an anterior end defined by a conventional suction tube. An annular bearing element of the suction element is adapted to seal against the top of the container, so that as the closure element is tightened onto the container, a section of the suction element is axially shortened between the bearing element and a point of connection with the closure element. Hence, as the closure element is removed, a predetermined amount of fluid will aspirate into the anterior end of the suction tube of the dropper.

  • Patent number: 4563847
Abstract: An improvement to a universal flashing for roof top and vent pipe geometries characterized by differing pipe diameters and roof slope angles. The present improvement relates to a ring collar assembly which comprises a plurality of stepped sealing portions, each portion adapted to engage a different vent pipe diameter and frangibly be separated from the wall of said body member, wherein for a given pipe diameter a sealing portion further comprises a set of first and second projections disposed generally perpendicular to the flashing body centerline, each extending from a proximate end to a distal end which defines a circular flange surface spaced first and second dimensions about the centerline. The first dimension is less than the second dimension and both first and second dimensions are less than the outer diameter of the given pipe diameter for which sealing engagement is desired, and the projections are of a uniform thickness less than the wall thicknesses of the body member.
