  • Patent number: 7874353
Abstract: A well drilling head housing comprises a sidewall structure, a ram and selective displacement means. The sidewall structure defines a central bore configured for having a bearing assembly removably seated therein. The ram is slideably mounted on the side wall structure and is disposed within a passage extending through the sidewall structure. The selective displacement means is coupled between the ram and the sidewall structure. The selective displacement means, is configured for moving the ram to an engaged position in which the ram is engaged with the bearing assembly for securing the bearing assembly in a seated position within the central bore and a disengaged position in which the ram is disengaged from the bearing assembly thereby allowing the bearing assembly to be removed from within the central bore.

  • Patent number: 7866382
Abstract: A top drive apparatus for a well drilling head comprises a top drive structure, a seal body and a plurality of resilient members. The top drive structure is configured for being fixedly attached to an upper end portion of a bearing assembly and having a seal-carrying portion. The seal body has a mounting portion and a wiper portion extending from the mounting portion. The mounting portion is slideably disposed within a groove of the seal-carrying portion of the top drive structure. The plurality of resilient members are disposed within the groove between the mounting portion of the seal body and the top drive structure such that the entire seal body is resiliently displaceable with respect to the top drive structure.

  • Patent number: 7862490
Abstract: An exercise machine has a reactant force generating mechanism and a force application device. The force application device is coupled to the force input structure of the reactant force generating mechanism and is configured for transmitting force generated by a user to the force input structure. At least a portion of the force application device protrudes from within an opening in the force input structure. The force application device includes a non-compliant base portion, a compliant outer shell coupled to the base portion and pressure displaceable material contained within an interior space of the compliant outer shell. The force application device allows the user-generate force to be transmitted through the pressure displaceable material and exerted on the reactant force generating mechanism of the exercise machine so as to cause the force input structure to exert a proportional reactant force on the force application device.

  • Patent number: 7798250
Abstract: A well drilling head comprises a housing having a sidewall structure defining a central bore and a bearing assembly removably seated within the central bore of the housing. The bearing assembly includes an outer barrel having a central bore, an inner barrel at least partially disposed within the central bore of the outer barrel and bearing units coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween. The inner barrel includes a central bore and a plurality of cooling structures protruding from a surface thereof within the central bore.

  • Patent number: 7789172
Abstract: A bearing assembly for a well drilling head has an outer barrel, an inner barrel, bearing units and a cover plate. The outer barrel has an upper end portion, a lower end portion and a central bore extending therebetween. The inner barrel is at least partially disposed within the central bore of the outer barrel. The bearing units are coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween. The cover plate is non-rotatably attached to the upper end portion of the outer barrel. An upper end portion of the inner barrel is exposed within a central opening of the cover plate. An outside edge portion of an upper surface of the cover plate encompassing the central opening is downwardly angled with respect to a central axis of the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 7789132
Abstract: An adapter comprises a generally cylindrical adapter, engagement member bores, retention member bores, and an attachment structure configured for allowing the adapter to be fixedly attached to a mating portion of the drilling head equipment. The engagement member bores extend effectively parallel to the central bore. The retention member bores are each adjacent a respective one of the engagement member bores. The retention member bores are positioned such that the engagement pin bores and retention member bores intersect. The retention member bore is configured for having a retention member engaged therein in a manner allowing the retention member to be selectively displaced along a length of the retention member bore. The adapter includes a central bore to accommodate a down hole tubular. The attachment structure includes a surface adjacent the central bore comprising fastener bores substantially parallel to the central bore for facilitating connection of the adapter to the drilling head equipment.

  • Patent number: 7766100
Abstract: A well drilling head comprises a housing and a bearing assembly. The housing has a sidewall structure defining a central bore. A tapered bearing assembly seating surface is provided within the central bore of the housing. The bearing assembly includes an outer barrel having a central bore, an inner barrel at least partially disposed within the central bore of the outer barrel and bearing units coupled between the barrels for providing concentric alignment of the barrels and allowing rotation therebetween. The outer barrel is removably seated within the central bore of the housing. A tapered exterior surface of the outer barrel is engaged with the tapered bearing assembly seating surface of the housing whereby engagement of the tapered surfaces align the outer barrel with respect to the central bore of the housing.

  • Patent number: 7767082
Abstract: A molecular arrangement magnetic treatment apparatus and method includes an apparatus including a material passageway configured for having material flow therethrough and at least one pair of magnets oriented such that material in the material passageway passes through a magnetic field effect produced by the at least one pair of magnets. Further, each magnet of the at least one pair of magnets is allowed to move independent of each other such that the magnetic field effect at least partially influences relative placement of each magnet of the at least one pair of magnets.
