Abstract: Solar heat energy collectors of the gaseous heat exchange type where the absorber is in the form of a duct completely out of thermal contact with the collector housing and extending between openings in opposite sides of the housing. Resilient seals are provided about the housing openings and compressively engaged with each other to prevent egress of heated gas or ingress of ambient air.
Abstract: A treatment chamber for a portion of a human body specially adapted for use with a pulsed or hyperbaric oxygen supply, the chamber comprising upper and lower sections adapted to be sealingly clamped together and provided at both ends with demountable annular sleeves fitting sealingly against the adjacent body surfaces, such as thighs and midriff, respectively.
Abstract: A self-joined interlocking container that functions both as a shipping container and a display container. The top portion of the container is removable. The sides decline toward the front to facilitate display of the contents of the package. The container is formed so that the raw edges along the front or sides are hidden.
Abstract: This specification discloses a wire banding method and machine, which comprises a base member, a circular guideway and wire feeding and tensioning means. Wire is fed across the base and past an article to be bound and then around the guideway until the leading edge thereof strikes a stop. At this time, clamping means on a first member on the base clamps and holds the leading end of the wire. Then the feeding means is reversed to tension the wire about the article. At the end of the tensioning step a second member on the base clamps the wire and the wire is severed prior to welding, then during the welding operation means are provided to prevent the welding current from damaging the articles being banded, then after welding the ends of the wire band, the weld is tensioned to check the integrity thereof.
Abstract: A terminal clip for attachment to a contact pad on a substrate having one or two individual masses of solder mechanically engaged with the clip in a position to be melted for bonding the clip to one or two surfaces of the contact pad.
Abstract: A box-type kite constructed of unitary polygonal end frames having interior corners and with passages in the interior corners subtending more than 180.degree.. Struts carrying sails thereon and equal in number to the corners, having a cross-sectional dimension greater than the openings to the passages are received in the passages to provide a polygonal box-type kite which requires no cross bracing for rigidity.
Abstract: Apparatus for receiving a transmission including message signals each preceded by a recording device selection component and recording each message signal on a recording device identified by the selection component. The apparatus includes a plurality of recording devices, means for identifying the recording device selected by the selection component and for actuating the recording device to record the next succeeding message signal.
Abstract: A heat flow monitoring system comprising a heat flow sensor and a meter which is powered by the current from the sensor. The sensor includes a multiplicity of thermoelectric elements in series, mounted to have a hot side and a cool side, such that heat flux in either direction will create an emf sufficient to drive the meter and indicate heat flux values in terms of BTU/ft..sup.2 -hr. and/or watts/cm.sup.2. The meter circuit may include resistances for adjustment to different ranges of heat flux values.
Abstract: A surface bolt which is latched against retraction when in a latching position and requires movement transverse to its length in order to unlatch the bolt for retraction.
Abstract: Combustion air for an internal combustion engine is treated to activate the oxygen molecules prior to mixing with the fuel. The oxygen is photochemically activated by ultraviolet radiation.

Abstract: A self-emulsifiable liquid pesticidal concentrate comprising: (a) from 65 to 95 percent by weight of a liquid pesticide compound or a liquid mixture of a liquid pesticide compound and a solid pesticide compound, (b) an emulsifier, and (c) 0% to 10% by weight of a solvent for the pesticide compound. In the method of application the pesticide concentrate is mixed with water so that a pesticidal emulsion dip is formed, having a total pesticide compound content of from 0.005 to 0.5 parts by weight per 100 parts by volume of emulsion. An animal infested with arthropod ectoparasites is treated with the pesticidal emulsion dip to eliminate and protect the animal from these parasites.

Abstract: Potentially explosive mixtures which can form as a result of accidental contact between a concentrated aqueous solution of ammoniacal silver salt and a concentrated solution of a strong alkali are inhibited in an improved multi-part system for electroless deposition of silver on an activated surface by simultaneous admixture of the diluted parts thereupon. Accordingly, an improved method for inhibiting formation of explosive conditions and compounds in a mixture formed by contacting concentrated aqueous ammoniacal silver salt and a concentrated solution of alkali is provided, whereby an effective amount of an explosion inhibitor is provided either in combination with the ammoniacal silver salt, in which case sufficient extraneous ammonium ions are provided to stabilize the explosion inhibitor, or in the strong alkali, or a portion of the explosion inhibitor is provided in each of said ammoniacal silver salt and strong alkali.
Abstract: The invention provides a novel preparation for treatment of Herpes zoster and other Herpes infections, comprising active principle pox and/or parapox virus of the family: poxviridae, the nucleic acids of which have been selectively damaged and a suitable carrier of said virus. A method for manufacture of the novel preparation of the invention and for treatment of Herpes zoster therewith is also provided.
