Abstract: An anti-theft security system for boats on boat lifts, which also provides for stability to eliminate boat swaying on the lift during wind storms. The system includes two opposing secondary side rails configured to move laterally along an underside of the primary boat lift I-beams. The side rails are interlocked within receiving brackets mounted to the boat lift posts, using a locking device that locks one of the side rails to the post mounted brackets on the dock pier side. The opposite secondary side rail includes an attached pull bar that allows a person to place the rail in position for locking or to pull the opposite side rail away from the lift posts to lower the boat into the water. The pull bar handle is interlocked with the rail nearest the dock pier side.
Abstract: The inventive concept is directed to a leveling device to level cabinets or other appliances. The device is constructed as an elongated housing having an interior therein. The interior of the housing will receive a movable triangular adjustment lever which is mounted in the housing in such a manner that a bottom flange will protrude from the housing and contact a floor on which the cabinet is to be located. The triangular adjustment lever has an upstanding flange that is contacted by an adjustment bolt which is accessible from the outside of the housing. A leveling device is installed in each of the inside corners of the cabinet and is accessible from a wall in the toe-kick recess of the cabinet by way of a tool through the wall. The leveling devices located in the rear corners of the cabinet are accessible for adjustment by way of on elongated rod passing through the wall and will attach to the respective adjustment bolts.
Abstract: A method of controlling the instability in fluid film bearings by using a magnetic bearing in combination with a fluid film bearing (whether it is a cylindrical journal bearing, an elliptic bearing, an offset-half bearing, a multi-lobe bearing, foil bearing or a tilting-pad bearing, does not really matter), wherein the fluid film bearing serves as the primary load carrying bearing and the magnetic bearing controls the instability of the fluid film bearing. This efficient combination results in bearings that can be used at high speeds without having neither stability nor reliability problems. An alternative method of controlling the instability in fluid film bearings is to disturb the flow in the axial direction, for example, a sleeve journal) bearing can be manufactured such that the bearing axis is skewed with the shaft axis or a variable geometry bearing can be manufactured to allow for bearing angular misalignment.
Abstract: Provided are: method of producing a sulfur-containing proanthocyanidin oligomer by reducing the molecular weight of proanthocyanidin in plants so that they can be readily absorbed through the intestine of an organism; and a health food composition and a pharmaceutical composition which contain the resultant sulfur-containing proanthocyanidin oligomer as an active ingredient and which are useful for treating and preventing various lifestyle-related diseases and brain diseases caused by generation of active oxygen species as well as for preventing aging.

Abstract: A flexible, low-bulk pre-impregnated (pre-preg) towpreg, which is the resultant impregnation of a low pressure impregnation of a bundle of un-spread fiber tows arranged in a predetermined cross-sectional shape. During the low pressure impregnation process, the resin does not enter into the fiber bundle, but rather only coats the surface fibers comprising the tow, resulting in un-coated fibers in the core of the prepreg and with molten resin, partially adhering onto and around the exterior fibers of the fiber bundle such that the interior fibers remain uncoated and a thin, irregular sheath of resin is created on and around the exterior of the fiber bundle surrounding the core of dry fibers.
Abstract: An air spring is used as a resistance device in exercise equipment having a lever arm for exercising various muscle groups such as those in arms and legs. In one embodiment, the equipment can be used while standing and the resistance movements strengthen core muscles. In another, it can be adapted to be used on a table surface for exercising hands, wrists and forearms. In still another embodiment, it can incorporate a bike pedal assembly to simultaneously aerobically exercise the legs and arms. The equipment includes resistance level regulating components and a visual indicator using a gauge or similar device to monitor resistance levels. Embodiments also include interchangeability of human interface members and a hand pump integrated with the lever arm, which may also include interchangeability of the human interface members.
Abstract: A locking mechanism for a folding knife or tool with a handle having a cavity defined within the handle; a knife or tool blade having a heel-butt end with a female puzzle cavity portion cut out of a rear side of the heel-butt end, and the heel-butt end being rotationally interconnected to the front end of the handle wherein the knife or tool blade travels between an extended position and a closed position within the handle cavity; and a matching male puzzle portion at an end of a tang portion configured for engaging snugly and interconnectively with the female puzzle cavity portion at the heel-butt of the blade.
Abstract: A system and method for applying an aqueous pesticide solution comprising a motor and a pump combination wherein the pump is operable in the 1000-3000 pounds per square inch range; a reservoir for holding the solution to be dispersed; a regulator and pressure monitoring gauge; a hose and nozzle system configured to disperse the pesticide solution at a rate of about 1.5 to about 2.5 gallons per minute and to atomize the solution being dispersed into droplets of between 1 to 30 microns, wherein an adhesion property of the dispersed aqueous pesticide solution is significantly enhanced by such configuration, and wherein the solution is hydro-kinetically charged when released from its hydrostatic state as the solution flows through the dispersion nozzle assembly.
Abstract: A property and evidence bag comprising a deployable inner bag inside a pouch attached typically to the belt of an officer. The inner bag can be deployed and expands from its folded compact state inside the pouch. It is partially attached to the pouch and deploys by pulling a tab.
