  • Patent number: 6805242
Abstract: The specification describes one or more embodiments of the present invention, which relates to a method of reducing phosphate ore losses in a desliming process. A phosphate ore preparation slurry is directed to a desliming unit; surfactants and/or an organic polymers are added to the slurry and mixed into the slurry to reduce the viscosity of the slurry and to settle out the fine phosphate ore particles for recovery. These particles are collected and directed to a beneficiation process for recovering the phosphate ore product. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope of meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Patent number: 6778061
Abstract: A fuse that can be made small while improving its breaking performance. An element 3 is securely held between the two lengthwise ends of a tubular fuse casing 2 and a pair of metal plates 4 having a melting point of more than 1000° C. The ends of the fuse casing 5 are respectively pushed into caps 5 so that the caps are fitted to the fuse casing 2 in such a manner as to cover the metal plates 4. The metal plates 4 protect the caps 5 from direct exposure to an arc discharge, which occurs when the element 3 fuses due to an overcurrent. Even if the fuse casing is made small, the metal plates 4 reliably interrupt overcurrent by absorbing the energy of an arc discharge.

  • Patent number: 6772519
Abstract: The invention is a system and associated connection fitting for connecting a refrigerated line or air conditioning hose to the compressor unit or component on one end and the evaporator unit or component on the other end of a residential or commercial air conditioning or refrigeration system. The hose will be of a construction, which as well as having a relatively high bursting strength, will also not allow the refrigerant to permeate through the hose and escape into the outside environment. The associated connecting fitting allows the hose to be connected to the compressor/evaporator unit. The mounting surface of the fitting will allow it to either slide over or fit into the corresponding fitting on the compressor and/or evaporator unit. The opposite end, which shall connect to the hose assembly, will have flanges and “O” rings which when clamped will provide a secure connection as well as prevent loss of refrigeration.

  • Patent number: 6764656
Abstract: A sports figure shaped fan for ventilation grills comprising a caricature formed in the shape of a sports figure. The sports figure shaped fan is attached to a ventilation grill and the arms are extended and rotate when subjected to a back draft from the air flow of the ventilation system. The rotation mimics a throwing action of the sports figure. The sports figure shaped fan also includes a reservoir and access to the reservoir for inserting one of a scenting agent, a deodorizing agent and a combination thereof, in the reservoir located in a designated portion of the caricature. The designated portion of the sports figure caricature is sufficiently permeable on either side of the reservoir so that when the air flow passes by the sports figure, a vapor is dispersed by the movement of the air flow emanating from the ventilation grill.

  • Patent number: 6749080
Abstract: An adjustable underground utility housing with a lid for access from above ground is disclosed and comprises a housing formed with upstanding wall portions defining a cavity having an upper opening to support a lid and a bottom opening. The housing has utility piping inlet and outlet openings through which the piping enters and exits the housing for servicing a facility. The openings each have flexible closures for preventing dirt from entering the openings into the cavity of the housing. The closures are sufficiently flexible for sliding down over the utility piping yet sufficiently resilient to prevent the dirt from entering the housing cavity. The closures can be formed with overlapping horizontally oriented bristles, with a sheet of rubberized material having a centrally located vertical slit, or with this same sheet of rubberized material with the addition of horizontal slits to form reinforced stiffened fingers.

  • Patent number: 6743861
Abstract: An ESCAP type polymer which has a controlled structure wherein the groups protecting phenolic hydroxyl groups have been selectively or partly eliminated or decomposed with an acid and no carboxylic acid residues are contained and which is a narrow-disperse polymer and is suitable for use as a material for a chemical amplification type resist for excimer lasers which has excellent resolution. The process is characterized by subjecting either an alkenylphenol in which the phenolic hydroxyl group has been protected or the alkenylphenol and a vinylaromatic compound to anionic polymerization together with a (meth)acrylic ester to give a block copolymer and eliminating only a given proportion of the groups protecting the phenolic hydroxyl groups from the block copolymer with an acid reagent. Thus, an alkenylphenol copolymer is synthesized which has a ratio of the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) to the number-average molecular weight (Mn), (Mw/Mn), of 1.00 to 1.50 and has no carboxylic acid residues.
