  • Patent number: 7025561
Abstract: Mass-produced fuel pumps having a stable pump efficiency comprising a circumferential groove 20 is formed within a pump body 15 and the groove 20 is divided into a first region having a constant cross-sectional area L, a second region having a cross sectional area that gradually becomes smaller toward the downstream side, and a third region having a constant cross-sectional area M. A suction hole 22 is formed within the pump body 15 and is inclined toward the rotational direction of the impeller. The suction hole 22 is communicated with the groove 20 in the first region. Even if the inclination angle of the suction hole 22 varies among mass-produced fuel pumps, the cross-sectional area L of the groove 20 is constant at the location where the suction hole 22 is communicated with the groove 20. Therefore, variations in the amount of fuel sucked into the fuel pump can be reduced. Accordingly, pump efficiency of the mass-produced fuel pumps can be stabilized.

  • Patent number: 7020840
Abstract: A apparatus and method are provided which assist the use of electronic documents in both a word processor (17) and Braille environment (16). The apparatus and methods facilitate conversion of electronic documents between various formats for subsequent use on word processor equipment (15) and Braille equipment (10) as required. The translation utilizes a temporary file (90, 91) in an intermediary format which retains formatting information relating the manner in which the document should be rendered in each environment (16,17). The transfer of electronic documents is transparent to the user in a manner that it appears only one document is being worked with.

  • Patent number: 7015618
Abstract: The invention concerns an arrangement for supplying power to an electric motor having a commutator, comprising at least two carbon brushes (12, 14), as well as flat springs (16, 18) that subject said brushes to force in the direction of the commutator and proceed from a mounting and are connected to electric terminals. In order to enable a defined transfer of force from the flat springs to the carbon brushes, while at the same time ensuring that an unambiguous fixing of the flat springs into position and a secure current supply takes place, it is proposed that the flat springs (16, 18) have a U-shape with legs (38, 40) of unequal length, that a carbon brush (12, 14) be fastened to each longer leg, and that the shorter leg be connected electrically conductive to an at least partially encapsulated conductor path or printed circuit, which is at least a section of the mounting.

  • Patent number: 7015130
Abstract: A method for making UBM (Under Bump Metallurgy) pads and bumps on a wafer is disclosed. Openings are formed in a photoresist layer for forming bumps, a positive liquid photoresist is provided into the openings of the photoresist layer for forming bumps. The positive liquid photoresist is exposed and developed to modify the openings of the photoresist layer. Thus, bumps formed in the modified openings have precise bonding areas on the UBM layer. Using the bumps as a mask, UBM pads under the bumps are formed by etching the UBM layer, so that the reflowed bumps have a uniform height.

  • Patent number: 7011074
Abstract: A sensor for a throttle control device. The throttle control device includes a throttle body. A throttle valve is disposed within an intake air channel defined within the throttle body. A speed or gear reduction mechanism is coupled between a motor and the throttle valve. A sensor detects the rotational position, i.e., the rotational angle, of the motor and has a movable section and a fixed sensing section. The movable section is attached to a rotary shaft of the motor, so that the movable section rotates as the rotary shaft rotates. The fixed sensing section is mounted to the throttle body and is disposed within the movable section. By detecting the rotation of the motor a computing section can accurately determine the degree of opening of the throttle valve. The sensor outputs the degree of opening of the throttle valve.
