The force sensor (30) is mounted at the periphery of the external body (8) between, on the one hand, a bearing element (38) secured to a first peripheral region of the external body (8) and, on the other hand, a second peripheral region (24) of the external body (8). The second peripheral region (24) of the external body (8) is further away from the crimping region (18) than the first peripheral region. The bearing element (38) is prestressed against the force sensor (30).
Abstract: A personal radiation protection garment that substantially contours to an operator's body is suspended from a suspension means. The garment is operable to protect the operator from radiation. The suspension means is operable to apply constant force. The suspension means allows operator wearing protective radiation garment to move freely in the X, Y, and Z spatial planes simultaneously, such that the protective radiation garment is substantially weightless to operator. A radiation protection face shield and flap can also be suspended from suspension means, such that face shield and flap are substantially weightless to operator. The suspension means can be mounted to a ceiling.

Abstract: An ultrasonic welding tool fabricated of powder metal material includes a body and a welding tip extending axially from the body to a working end. The powder metal material can be ferrous-based and admixed with additives, such as alumina, carbide, ferro-molybdenum, ferro-nickel, chrome or tribaloy. An exposed surface of the welding tip can comprise Fe3O4 oxides. The tool is compacted to the desired shape and sintered. The body can include a different second material compacted separately from the welding tip and then joined to the tip and sintered.
Abstract: Provided is a radio communication base station device which can obtain a maximum frequency diversity effect of a downstream line control channel. Thereafter, an altitude limit curve which comprises an intersection with the altitude profile upon the engagement of a terrain avoidance maneuver is determined. As soon as there is no longer any intersection of the limit curve with the altitude profile, the terrain avoidance maneuver is interrupted.
Abstract: A wireless communication system is provided for rapidly establishing the QoS resource on different communication networks. In this system, the NAP evaluates a network resource used by the MT, and generates the QoS history information unit indicating the evaluation result. The AAA authenticates the QoS history information unit generated by the NAP. The NAP transmits the authenticated QoS history information unit to the MT. The MT request for a resource establishment to the NAP when switching the communicating party from the NAP to the NAP, and transmits the QoS history information unit. The NAP verifies the authenticity of the QoS history information unit to the AAA when receiving the request for resource establishment from the MT and allocates the network resource to the MT based on the QoS history information unit.

Abstract: A method and device of dynamically reducing the buffeting of an airplane. The method is carried out by detecting a risk of buffeting of the airplane in flight by a monitor. At least one control surface is turned by an actuator arranged at a trailing edge of each wing of the airplane. The control surface is turned, at a predetermined respective rate of turn, into a predetermined respective position to modify lift profile of the wing along a wingspan length to reduce lift in at least one buffeting-generating region of each wing.

Abstract: A transportable container for flowable bulk goods is formed by vertically spacing a slip frame former from a bottom support. An outer wrap is disposed around the bottom support and a portion of at least one former wall to initially form the transportable container prior to the addition of the bulk goods into the transportable container. At least one of the slip frame former and the bottom support moves vertically relative to other in response to the fill level of the bulk goods. As the fill level increases in the transportable container, previously disposed portions of outer wrap are disengaged from the slip frame former to squeeze the filled portions of the transportable container and lock together the bulk goods disposed in the transportable container.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device for detecting lateral dissymmetry of an aircraft. A control parameter determination unit is used to determine a current value of a control parameter representative of all roll control surfaces of the aircraft, and a control parameter comparison unit is used to compare the determined current value with a predetermined reference value. A current deflection angle of a lateral stick of the aircraft is also determined, and the determined current deflection angle is compared with a predetermined angle value. A visual alarm signal is output, when the current value of the roll control surfaces of the aircraft is greater than a predetermined reference value and the lateral stick is at a deflection angle that is greater than a predetermined angle value.
Abstract: A method and device for detecting a risk of collision of an aircraft, having a profile unit having knowledge of the terrain profile, a determination unit for determining effective values of particular flight parameters, a checking unit for verifying whether a flight path determined by the effective values is compatible with the terrain profile, and a transmitting unit for emitting a warning signal in case of incompatibility. The checking unit includes at least one element for calculating a height variation due to an energy transfer and a total slope variation generated by a speed reduction, during an evasive action, an element deter mining an evasive course using the height variation, and an element verifying whether the evasive course determined is compatible with the terrain profile.
Abstract: A communication system includes communication protocols that allow a single network or multiple neighboring networks to increase resource sharing and reduce mutual interference and increase their overall throughput. Various protocols apply to homogenous networks in which all power line communication (PLC) devices of multiple networks are interoperable with respect to full power line communication in a common PHY (specifications, signaling capabilities, modulation scheme, coding scheme, bandwidth, etc.) and to heterogeneous networks in which devices of some PLC networks are not interoperable with PLC devices of other PLC networks with respect to full power line communication given that the devices of the different networks do not employ a common PHY. With respect to heterogeneous networks, a protocol is provided to enable coexistence via a signaling scheme common to all of the devices of the network that allows resource sharing between the devices of the multiple heterogeneous networks.
