  • Patent number: 4158257
Abstract: A pantograph which is integrally molded of plastic material and as an integral unit comprises a plurality of links, with certain of said links having an integrally formed leg, pin and bearings, with one of the links having means for receiving and supporting a writing instrument. The integral unit is such that the various links and parts may be disconnected from their integrally formed unit and assembled and connected so the links pivot with respect to each other and same is operated as a pantograph. The parts being pivotally connected by their own means without the use of extraneous fastening means. Two alternate embodiments are shown both having a clip to secure the stationary end of the pantograph to a writing surface with one being provided with a movable pointer thereby allowing the pantograph to be used for two to one reproductions or one-half to one reproductions.

  • Patent number: 4149573
Abstract: A liquid soap dispensing system includes a closed soap container having a manually actuated dispensing pump carried therebeneath and being mounted on a bracket which has support fingers engageable with a lip on the container bottom for supporting it and a flexible retaining finger engageable with a groove in the top of the container for releasably holding it immovably against the bracket. A bottom wall extends from the bracket beneath the container and cooperates therewith to enclose the dispensing pump and is provided with an aperture to accommodate dispensing of soap therethrough. Refill of the container is by a plastic refill squeeze-bottle with a neck closed by a membrane. The neck is inserted in a wall in the top of the container, and a piercing member at the bottom of the well ruptures the membrane, whereupon soap may be squeezed from the bottle and through apertures in the well bottom, which apertures are too small to permit ready flow of soap therethrough by gravity at ambient pressure.

  • Patent number: 4148284
Abstract: A two-part variable compression ratio cylinder is provided having inner and outer sleeves wherein relative movement between the sleeves varies the volume of the combustion chamber and hence varies the compression ratio of the engine. Hydraulic means responsive to the pressure in the combustion chamber automatically varies the position of the inner and outer sleeves to regulate the combustion chamber volume. The hydraulic controls are located entirely in the cylinder head facilitating the conversion of any internal combustion engine without altering the piston size.

  • Patent number: 4143491
Abstract: A vibratory polishing machine for minerals, gem stones and the like in which a carriage is resiliently mounted to a base and is provided with a motor fixedly mounted to the carriage. The motor output shaft is eccentrically connected via a crank to a drum supported on the carriage. Activation of the motor vibrates one end of the drum while the other end of the drum pivotally mounted on the carriage remains relatively stationary. The drum vibration causes materials inside the drum to rotate continuously in a circular path providing a polishing action.

  • Patent number: 4142624
Abstract: An apparatus for accumulating into a group a series of spaced-apart loaves of bread in a bakery conveying line comprises an entry conveyor and an exit conveyor each including a driven belt of interconnected free rollers. Upon the arrival of the first loaf at the exit end of the exit conveyor, the exit conveyor is stopped, with succeeding loaves accumulating behind the first loaf under the continued action of the entry conveyor to form a contiguous group which fills first the exit conveyor and then successive zones of the entry conveyor. As each zone is filled, a corresponding shoe is moved into engagement with the rollers passing through that zone for rotating them to counteract the movement of the entry conveyor belt and relieve pressure on the accumulated loaves.

  • Patent number: 4134227
Abstract: A toy parachute kit having a toy parachute comprising a frame member which includes a central base and a plurality of spaced, radially extending flexible arms with the arms having canopy attaching means at their outer ends. The entire frame member is integrally formed as a single unit of plastic material in an injection molding machine. A canopy is attachable to said canopy attaching means so that the frame and the canopy form a toy parachute. The parachute is collapsed by bending the arms towards each other and folding the canopy. The parachute in this collapsed position is inserted in a tubular member from which it is manually blown outwardly. The diameter of the central member or base is greater than the diameter of the tubular member so that the parachute cannot accidentally or otherwise be sucked into the mouth of the user.
