Abstract: N-cycloalkyldithio-N'-fluorophenyl ureas are useful for eliminating grassy and broadleaf weeds selectively from crop plants such as corn, sorghum and potatoes. The ureas are prepared by reacting an N-clorothio-N'-fluorophenyl urea with a cycloalkyl mercaptan in the presence of an acid acceptor.
Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##EQU1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are independently alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or alkenyl of 2 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sub.4 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkenyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, aryl of 6 to 15 carbon atoms optionally substituted with halogen atoms or alkyl groups of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an acyl group of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, with the proviso that R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 may be joined to form an alkylene radical of 2 to 5 carbon atoms. The compounds possess insecticidal and herbicidal activity.
Abstract: 2-Alkylthio- and 2-alkylthio-4-substituted-1,2,4-oxadiazolidine-3,5-diones, which have fungicidal activity, are prepared by reacting an alkyl or haloalkyl sulfenyl chloride with the alkali metal salt of a 4-substituted-1,2,4-oxadiazolidine-3,5-dione.
Abstract: The caking tendency of ammonium salt compositions during storage is reduced by coating the compositions with a minor amount of a hydroxy-aluminum polymer.

Abstract: Novel 3,5-dimethyl-2-thienylcarboxanilides and 3,5-dimethyl-2-thienyl-(N-haloalkylthiocarboxanilides) are active pre- and post-emergent herbicides.
Abstract: Herbicidal 2-chlorocycloalkylthio urea compounds are produced by the 1,2-addition of an N-chlorothio urea to cycloalkenes. The N-chlorothio urea reactant is produced by the reaction of a urea and sulfur dichloride.
Abstract: N-(N'alkynylcarbamylmethyl)-2,6-dialkyl-.alpha.-haloacetanilides have herbicidal activity, particularly in pre-emergent applications against grassy weeds.
