  • Patent number: 4664138
Abstract: There are disclosed steam traps for use, for example, in a steam system for expelling large quantities of condensate fluid at low pressures and for self locking closed at pressures above a predetermined pressure. The traps include a chamber having an input port and an output port. A movable piston blocks fluid flow between the input port and output port at high pressures but moves to an unblocking position at low pressures to permit fluid flow through the traps.

  • Patent number: 4663595
Abstract: A subcircuit for the demodulation of SECAM color-television signals has two signal paths each including a low-pass filter (tp1, tp2) which has the transfer function H(z)=(1+ z.sup.-1).sup.5. The amount of area required by the subcircuit on an integrated-circuit chip is thus kept small.

  • Patent number: 4663561
Abstract: Hold members are used for abutting a shadow mask on the pins in the rim portion of the faceplate of a color picture tube. These hold members are of a two-part design and connected to one another with the aid of means permitting a transverse movement in relation to the axis of symmetry of the color picture tube. These means may consist either of a swivel joint or of a straight line motion device. During the first insertion of the shadow mask into the faceplate, any possible tolerances of the pins can be compensated for because the possible transverse movement of the hold members. The spacing between the shadow mask and the phosphor screen is not affected.

  • Patent number: 4660140
Abstract: There is disclosed a circuit arrangement comprising a microcomputer, wherein certain terminals of the microcomputer may be used as either input terminals or as output terminals under selective switching control so that a reasonably priced microcomputer with few terminals can be used to control complex functions such as those of a vehicle seat adjusting mechanism. The circuit arrangement also includes a program check arrangement wherein check pulses are superimposed with control signals at an output terminal. The check pulses are used by a multivibrator which resets the microcomputer when the check pulses are not periodic. The check pulses are short in duration and do not adversely affect the operation of a relay coupled to the output terminal.

  • Patent number: 4656513
Abstract: A data slicer circuit for separating and recovering digital teletext signals from a demodulated composite color signal derives the slicing level by using a framing code detector and a gating pulse having an active phase during horizontal and color sync pulses. By an adder or a multiplier, a start value is formed at the beginning of each picture line. A square wave reference signal is formed which is subtracted from the start value containing composite color signal. From the difference signal, a digital automatic control system forms the slicing level.

  • Patent number: 4652781
Abstract: A drive unit for adjusting window panes, sunroofs, and seats in a vehicle has a reversible electric motor behind which is inserted a worm gear with a worm shaft. To prevent an undesired or unauthorized adjustment of a motor vehicle part, a brake device is provided. The brake device has a mechanical, one-way brake element with which the worm shaft may be coupled by an axial displacement. In order to reduce the effect of the brake device on the worm shaft when the window pane is adjusted by the electric motor, the brake element is the rotatable part of a rotation limiting device and, in the axial direction, it is supported on a stop.

  • Patent number: 4653055
Abstract: With this correcting method, errors in bytes are corrected successively. To this end, the signal resulting from the parity check is stored into a page memory, along with the character bits of each byte. The parity check signal replaces the parity bit of each byte. Two successively received identical pages are stored together with their parity check bits into first and second segments of the page memory. The two pages are compared for equality of the character bits and parity check bits. The result of the comparison is evaluated as follows.

  • Patent number: 4648148
Abstract: The piston of a reciprocating wiper system on which a wiper arm is mounted is guided to be linearly displaceable in a capshaped bearing and has a slide which is longitudinally guided by two guide elements fixed to the housing. To achieve jam-free guidance on the guide elements without adjustment, the slide is guided with a capshaped bearing on one guide element in a closed manner. In contrast thereto there is a play between the slide and the second guide element in the plane defined by the guide elements.

  • Patent number: 4644222
Abstract: In a color picture tube, the shadow mask is suspended in a way such that the pins inserted into the rim portion of the faceplate are aligned vertically in relation to the axis of symmetry of the color picture tube. The free ends of the pins are of spherical design, and comprise a conical part. Two-piece, trapezoidal hold members for the shadow mask rest on the pins. Each of the hold members is resiliently pressed upon the pins by a locking spring.

  • Patent number: 4642675
Abstract: A superheterodyne receiver using the "Third Method" is equipped for reception of color-television programs. The oscillator frequency for the first mixer is located exactly in the middle between the picture carrier and the chrominance subcarrier, so that the picture carrier and the chrominance subcarrier coincide at the intermediate frequency. The Nyquist slope for the picture carrier is made steeper, so that one loss-pass filter slope determines the Nyquist slope for the picture carrier and the chrominance subcarrier and the adjacent-channel selectivity on both sides in the RF spectrum.

  • Patent number: 4641389
Abstract: A gearing of a reciprocating wiper system has two toothed wheels meshing with each other of which one is firmly connected with a crank. The mesh of a given tooth of one toothed wheel in a given space width of the other toothed wheel corresponds to a particular position of the crank. To facilitate assembly and to reduce the risk of assembly errors, in a particular position of the crank one toothed wheel has only one tooth which may be axially pushed into one space width of the other toothed wheel such that the meshing of the tooth in the space width corresponds to the particular position of the crank.

  • Patent number: 4635672
Abstract: There is disclosed a vent for venting air from a system of the type which conducts fluid under pressure. The vent includes a chamber, a ball valve within a top wall of the chamber, and a float within the chamber which is arranged for vertical movement therein. A lever which carries a valve ball element is arranged for pivotal movement against the inner surface of the chamber top wall for disengaging the ball element from the valve when the valve is opened. When the valve is opened, the lever and ball element fall away from the valve. When the vent closes, the float acts upon the lever for guiding the ball element into seating relation with the vent valve.
