  • Patent number: 4596941
Abstract: An electric motor includes an end wall having a collector mounted therein. The brushes of the motor are affixed to spring levers resiliently mounted on the end wall. The end wall includes a diaphragm-like portion having a release pin extending radially inward. The spring lever with the affixed motor brush is maintained in a mounting position by contact with a holding pin. After the assembly of the collector between the brushes, the diaphragm is compressed to push the release pin into the lever. The lever is freed from contact with the holding pin and is released to allow the brush to contact the collector.

  • Patent number: 4597000
Abstract: A memory cell includes a selection transistor and a memory transistor formed as insulated gate field effect transistors. The transistors are formed on a substrate with a channel for the selection transistor coupled to a channel for the memory transistor. A layer of oxide overlies both transistors. The channels are formed between a programming line and a reading line formed in the substrate. A thin film window in the oxide overlies a region of the programming line. An insulated, floating gate is formed overlying the window and the channel of the memory transistor. A gate electrode overlies the floating gate and the channel of the selection transistor.

  • Patent number: 4597011
Abstract: A digital filter for the digital luminance channel of a color-television set contains an even number of cascaded delay elements whose junctions as well as the input and the output of the cascade serve as taps. Each of the taps of the half on the input side is connected to an input of a first switch, and each of the taps of the half on the output side is connected to an input of a second switch, such that the two switches are simultaneously set to two taps which are symmetrical with respect to a center tap. The center tap is connected to the first input of a single multiplier, whose second input is fed with a signal corresponding to a constant, and whose output is coupled to the first input of an adder. The output of the first switch and that of the second switch are connected, respectively, to the second and third inputs of the adder, whose output is the output of the subnetwork. Digital filters with at least one such subnetwork can be used as peaking filters in the luminance channel of color-television sets.

  • Patent number: 4593882
Abstract: A zone valve of the type using a heat motor includes a biasing spring that operates on a lever, the lever operating on a valve. The spring includes arms that slidingly engage the lever. The arms each include a bent portion adjacent the point of contact with the lever. • Patent number: 4591755
Abstract: A cathode-ray tube 10 with a deflection system 15 and an electron gun 14 having a magnetic ring 19 attached thereto is designed so that the magnetic ring 19 is not covered by the deflection system 15. To achieve this, the magnetic ring 19 is placed further to the back of the color-picture tube 10 than in conventional tubes, and/or the deflection system 15 is made shorter at the back. On an adjusting apparatus comprising both a magnetizing device and a deflection-system-positioning device, the magnetization of the magnetic ring and the positioning of the deflection system of such a tube 10 can be performed simultaneously and independent of each other. The measure can be taken on all tubes having a deflection system 15 and a magnetic ring 19 for adjusting the positions of at least two electron beams; in the case of color-picture tubes, color purity and static convergence are adjusted with such a ring.

  • Patent number: 4585980
Abstract: A windshield wiper assembly comprising two windshield wipers each driven by a separate motor is described in which a control provides switching signals for switching on and off the wiper motors so as to achieve relatively smooth running of the wipers. In particular wiping areas one motor is continuously switched on and only the other motor, in dependence on the difference of the angular positions of the two wipers, is controlled such that collision of the wipers is prevented when the wiping areas overlap.

  • Patent number: 4584600
Abstract: A digital filter serves to compensate for the reduction in the amplitude of the chrominance-subcarrier reference (fc) caused by the passband of the intermediate frequency stages, and thus to achieve a flat response in the filter's passband within the chrominance-channel bandwidth. The transfer function of the digital filter isY(z)/X(z)=T(z)=1/a+z.sup.-1 +z.sup.-2 /a,where a is a number presettable by the manufacturer of the color-television set but constant in operation.
