  • Patent number: 6349492
Abstract: A liquid ornament having means for creating continuous liquid flow is provided. The liquid ornament includes a display chamber for containing liquids, such as water and oil, and a control chamber for accommodating the means for creating liquid flow. The means for creating liquid flow mainly include an elastically flexible material that forms a partition between the display chamber and the control chamber, a push member having a free end contacting with the flexible material, a magnet attached to the free end of the push member, and a coil mounted within a magnetic field of the magnet. When the coil is continuously supplied with an electric current, it alternately magnetically repulses or attracts the magnet and accordingly causes the free end of the push member to intermittently push or strike the flexible material, producing continuous liquid flow in the display chamber when the whole liquid ornament is in a still state.

  • Patent number: 6336680
Abstract: A height-adjusting mechanism for armrest includes a slider movably mounted in a slide way of a sleeve connected at a lower end to a seat of an armchair. A retaining block horizontally extends through a transverse hole on the slider and into one of many vertically spaced locating holes on the slide way to hold the slider at a certain height relative to the sleeve. A long plate having a top handle is attached to one side of the slider and could be pulled upward and elastically return to an original position when being released. When the long plate is pulled upward, it drives the retaining block to disengage from the locating hole and allows the slider to freely move up and down. And, when the long plate is released, the retaining block is driven to engage into another locating hole to hold the slider to a new height.

  • Patent number: 6337620
Abstract: A cipher type anti-theft system for cars using an in-car wiring to transmit a cipher mainly includes an encoder/transmitter and at least one decoder cut-off relay. The encoder/transmitter generates a cipher and converts the cipher from digits to analog signals for loading onto the in-car wiring. The at least one decoder cut-off relay may be installed at any point on any power supply circuit needed to start the car. When the at least one decoder cut-off relay receives a correct cipher, it can decode the cipher and make the power supply circuit to allow start of the car. The encoder/transmitter and the decoder cut-off relay can be installed in the car without producing additional (or direct) wiring and are therefore not easily found from outside. The encoder/transmitter may be an independent and portable unit associated with certain in-car equipment, such as a cigarette lighter, and uses the cigarette lighter holder, for example, as an interface to receive and transmit the cipher.
