  • Patent number: 6331332
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a process for depositing diamond-like carbon (DLC) films by cathodic arc evaporation (CAE), wherein the high energy of CAE metal ions causes the cracking reaction of the hydrocarbon gases fed into the vacuum reaction chamber and then results in the deposition of DLC films having high hardness and lubrication. Due to the metallic constituents doped in the DLC films, the films also have good toughness. Moreover, prior to the feeding of hydrocarbon gases for the DLC deposition, the same metal arc source may deposits one or more interlayers of metal, metal nitride, or metal carbide on the substrate so as to further enhance the adhesion of the DLC films to be deposited.

  • Patent number: 6329631
Abstract: A transparent plastic solder strip being provided with a plurality of solder holes for each accommodating an amount of solder paste therein. These solder holes have a very small diameter and are uniformly and densely distributed throughout the solder strip in a specific pattern, such that a proper density of the solder hole on the solder strip is obtained to always allow sufficient number of solder holes to be covered in an applied area for sufficient amount of solder paste to be melted by laser beams and transferred from the solder strip to islands on a BGA carrier for bonding the carrier to a semiconductor device. It is no longer necessary to register the solder holes with the islands on the carrier to complete the solder transfer.

  • Patent number: 6326214
Abstract: An immunity testing device formed of a thin sheet of material folded to three portions, and the two end portions; named “front cover”0 and “back cover”; fold back to different sides of the center part; named base seat; to provide protection on both sides of the base seat. Two absorbent sheets bridged with a test paper are fixed on the side of base seat that's facing the front cover. A hole is present at the position of the first absorbent sheet on base seat for specimen application. The front cover is disposed with observation cover plates at the position corresponding to the test paper and/or water-absorbing sheets for observation of test result as well as for preventing pollution before, and after use. The test paper is pre-embedded with antibodies/antigens to capture the corresponding antigens/antibodies in the test specimen as in Immunity method. The used testing device can be burned down to ensure environmental protection.

  • Patent number: 6325412
Abstract: A fasten-on air bag device comprises an air bag housing which is attachable to the seat restraints and can be fastened-on by occupant; a crash sensing system for sensing and evaluating the crash data; an inflator installed inside the air bag housing, a plug-in signal-transmission receptacle and a detachable plug affixed to the air bag housing. By coupling with the plug-in signal transmission receptacle, the fasten-on air bag device can be utilized not only on the front seats but also the rear seats, and can be applied on all kinds of vehicles such as cars, buses, trains and airplanes. The direction of explosion is guided by the guiding core to assure the deployment of the air bag go outward and forward away from the occupant's body instead of aiming toward the occupant's body. In addition, the protective shield lining and the spread plastic lobes further protect the occupant's body. Therefore, the explosive expansion of the air bag would less likely cause harm to the occupant.

  • Patent number: 6325746
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cushioning mechanism for an exercise apparatus disposed between a turning shaft under the main body of the exercise apparatus and a supporting element. The clamping cushioning mechanism includes two clamping bodies corresponding in form each of which contains a clamping element between which a receiving part is formed for fastening a cushioning soft pad. Thereafter, a rolling shaft is disposed at the relatively external side of each of the two clamping bodies so that, when a frame is loaded and pressed down, the stress will be transmitted from the turning shaft to two clamping bodies while the clamping bodies sink because pivoting holes at the relative center are loaded, however, the rolling shaft at two side thereof create an upward reactive force by means of their contact with the supporting element so that the clamping elements of the clamping bodies are enable to be clamped inwardly in order to achieve an expected cushioning effect.
