Abstract: A method of producing passivated Ti or Ti alloy particles with oxygen concentrations of less than about 900 parts per million (ppm), which includes introducing a halide vapor of Ti or the metal constituents of the alloy at sonic velocity or greater into a stream of liquid alkali or liquid alkaline earth metal or mixtures thereof forming a reaction zone in which the halide is reduced by the liquid metal present in sufficient excess of stoichiometric such that Ti or Ti alloy powder from the reduction of the halide by the liquid metal is friable. After filtration and distillation excess liquid metal is removed from the Ti or Ti alloy powder that is then maintained at elevated temperature for a time sufficient to grow the particles to average diameters calculated from BET surface area measurement greater than about one micron. After cooling the Ti or Ti alloy powder to temperature of about 80° C.
Abstract: A shelf bracket having a ledge and a plurality of side members, the shelf bracket being formed from a blank. The blank has a plurality of side portions, which can be bent downwardly to create the side members. The blank also has a ledge portion which forms the ledge of the shelf bracket. The side portions and the ledge portion of the blank are separated by a plurality of bend lines, to facilitate bending for the formation of the shelf bracket. The blank desirably has a lip portion which can be bent upwardly to form a lip of the shelf bracket. The blank can also have a plurality of stiffener portions which can be bent to create stiffeners in the shelf bracket, and one or more ribs in the side portions to provide strength to the shelf bracket.
Abstract: A reconfigurable processor including a plurality of reconfigurable execution units, a memory, an instruction queue, a configuration selection unit, and a configuration loader. The memory stores a plurality of steering vector processing hardware configurations for configuring the reconfigurable execution units. The instruction queue stores a plurality of instructions to be executed by at least one of the reconfigurable execution units. The configuration selection unit analyzes the instructions stored in the instruction queue and chooses one of the steering vector processing hardware configurations. The configuration loader determines whether one of the reconfigurable slots is available and reconfigures at least one of the reconfigurable slots with at least a part of the chosen steering vector processing hardware configuration responsive to at least one of the reconfigurable slots being available.

Abstract: A jet pump assembly and method for removing fluid from a well bore extending into a formation is disclosed. The jet pump assembly includes a jet pump interposed between a tubing string and a packer. The jet pump includes a body having an outer surface, a lower tubular end, an upper tubular end connected to a lower end of the tubing string, and a central axial bore intersecting the upper tubular end at a discharge end and extending partially through the pump body toward the lower tubular end. The pump body further has a plurality of radial inlet ports intersecting the central axial bore and a plurality of production ports extending from the lower tubular end to the upper tubular end in a non-intersecting relation to the injection ports. The central axial bore is shaped to provide a non-restricted flow path from the point the injection ports intersect the central axial bore to the discharge end of the central axial bore.

Abstract: The Automated Data Delivery Systems (ADDS) are two delivery systems designed to either deliver specific data to customer computers over a network such as the Internet or from one application program to another application program. In both cases the user computer requesting data delivery can either have an automatic data reception capability or receive the data without screening the incoming data. In particular, ADDS are systems that allow data delivery services to be offered on the Internet or an Intranet between two Internet/Intranet sites (I2I) or a data delivery service to be offered between an Internet site and a User Computer (I2U). In addition the ADDS invention includes a modification to existing or future application programs that allow the program to deliver 1) specified data 2) in the format specified by the user 3) to the location specified by the user, and 4) at a schedule specified by the user.
Abstract: The present invention relates to methodology for polymer grafting by a polysaccharide synthase and, more particularly, polymer grafting using the hyaluronate or chondroitin or heparin/heparosan synthases from Pasteurella multocida, in order to create a variety of glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides having a natural or chimeric or hybrid sugar structure.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for producing a coated analytic substrate using a compact and portable automated instrument located in the laboratory setting at the point of use which can consistently produce one or a plurality of coated analytic substrates “on demand” for using the analytic substrate immediately after coating, preferably without a step of rinsing the coated analytic substrate before use. The apparatus preferably uses applicator cartridges having a reservoir containing the coating compositions used to form the coatings. Preferably the cartridges are removable and interchangeable to facilitate the production of individual analytic substrates having different coatings or different coating patterns. These coated analytic substrates have superior specimen adhesion characteristics due to the improved quality of the coatings applied by the coating apparatus and due to the quickness with which the coated analytic substrates can be used in the lab after production.
