Abstract: An electronic message unit adapted for use with an existing telephone and a public communication link for receiving incoming messages (machine interpretable messages and voice messages) over the communication link and for receiving incoming call signals indicating an incoming message being receivble over the communication link including a telephone control assembly and a message controller. The telephone control assembly is connectable to the communication link and to the existing telephone for receiving call incoming signals and for connecting to the communication link in response to receiving a call incoming signal, the telephone control assembly receiving the incoming messages over the communication link when connected to the communication link and outputting the received incoming messages. The message controller receives the incoming messages outputted by the telephone control assembly and determines the incoming message to be either a machine interpretable message or a voice message.

Abstract: A swing check valve where the opposite end portions of the hinge pin of the disc are held in hinge pin recesses by an annular wall in the valve body. The wall in the valve body is sufficiently sized that the valve disc can swing through the wall through an arc of substantially 90.degree. between in its open and closed positions. The wall may be formed as a part of the valve body or as a separate retainer ring secured in the valve.

Abstract: Fishing apparatus adapted for use with fishing accessories comprising a tackle box with an opening extending through an upper end and forming an inside wall. A first attachment means is disposed generally on a portion of the inside wall in the tackle box. The apparatus includes a container having outside walls generally surrounding a container opening with the container opening intersecting the upper end and being sized for receiving fishing accessories. A second attachment means includes a portion connected to the outside wall of the container. The second attachment means and the first attachment means each are adapted so that the second attachment means is removeably connectable to the first attachment means for removeably connecting the container to the inside of the tackle box.

Abstract: A system for transporting a structure to a site of use via a towing truck and a wheeled dolly that support opposite ends of the structure during transport. Two coupling members, one mounted on the dolly and the other mountable on the truck, each have fixed connectors that mate with fixed connectors on the ends of the structure. Such mating is facilitated by providing each of the coupling members with hooks that engage a bar on the end of the structure and a positioning assembly that moves the hooks vertically, longitudinally and laterally. The positioning assembly has an outer frame that is moved vertically on the coupling member by hydraulic actuating cylinders and contains an inner frame that is moved longitudinally on the outer frame by a hydraulic actuating cylinder connected between the frame. The hooks are supported on a plate that is moved laterally in the inner frame by a double-ended hydraulic actuating cylinder on the plate.

Abstract: A storage tank battery connectable between a towing frame and a dolly for transport via clevises on the tank battery and apertured plates extending from connecting frames mounted on the towing frame and the dolly. The connecting frame on the towing frame slides vertically on depending legs of the towing frame and the connecting frame on the dolly pivots on one end of the dolly so that the connecting frames can be raised and lowered by hydraulic jacks mounted on the connecting frames. The tank battery includes a rectangular container partitioned into separate tanks and internal and external bolsters, with corrugations of the partitions between tanks and laterally extending rods connected to the walls of the tanks, support the walls of the tanks against hydrostatic pressure of liquids in the battery.

Abstract: A ski carrier apparatus for carrying elongate skiing equipment such as snow skis and ski poles. The apparatus comprises a load-carrying element which is formed from a rod-like structural member, and which is characterized by a concave hook section disposed adjacent one end, and an equipment attachment section disposed adjacent its other end. The load-carrying element is sized to be fitted at its hook section over a single shoulder of a wearer, so that the equipment attachment section may extend diagonally across the wearer's back. Elongate skiing equipment to be carried is secured to the equipment attachment section of the load-carrying element apparatus by an attachment assembly. The elongate skiing equipment may thereupon be carried on the back of a wearer of the apparatus. The apparatus is held in a stable position on the wearer by means of a waist belt engaged with the load-carrying element, and by a shoulder belt engaged at its opposite ends to the waist belt.

Abstract: A method for assessing nutritional status and treating a nutritional disorder in a subject. The subject's intracellular status is monitored by measuring selected intracellular amino acids and at least one intracellular metabolic process. Primary intracellular amino acids are identified for the metabolic process and the level of each is compared to normal. Treatment includes administration of a composition comprising the normal plasma concentrations of certain secondary amino acids identified for each of the abnormal primary amino acids. The cellular assessment is preferably performed on leukocytes obtained from a blood sample.

Abstract: A remote indicator for use with an existing radar detector wherein a remote unit is located near the existing radar detector for sensing output indications from the radar detector and for providing output signals in response to and indicative of the radar detector output indications, and a console remotely located from the existing radar detector for receiving the remote unit output signals and for providing output indications indicative thereof and in response thereto.

Abstract: A system for repairing breaks in laminated and plate glass utilizing a glass replacement chemical wherein glass replacement chemical is disposed in a dispenser having a dispensing end. The apparatus includes a base and an injector tube supported on the base. A tube opening is formed in a portion of the injector tube with a portion of the tube opening intersecting the lower end of the injector tube and an access opening is formed in a portion of the injector tube with the access opening intersecting an outer peripheral surface of the injector tube and extending a distance through the injector tube and intersecting the tube opening. A seal assembly is supported in the injector tube for sealing the lower end portion of the injector tube to the glass to be repaired with the tube opening being disposed generally over a portion of the break in the glass.

Abstract: A replaceable cartridge for a swing check valve which includes the valve seat, disc and hinge pin retainer, wherein the hinge pin retainer is secured in position by deforming a portion of the cartridge.

Abstract: A doweling tool for drilling a dowel hole in concrete to facilitate the insertion of dowels, the doweling tool having a guide bar, a support frame for supporting the guide bar, a carriage movingly connected to the guide bar, a pneumatically operated drilling tool having a drill bit connected to the carriage and a pneumatic cylinder having a portion connected to the support frame and another portion connected to the carriage. The pneumatic cylinder is operable to move the carriage and the drilling tool connected thereto in a forward direction for drilling the dowel hole and for moving the carriage and the drilling tool connected thereto in a reverse direction for withdrawing the drilling tool from the dowel hole. The carriage is rollingly supported on the guide bar by a roller assemblies for rolling movement in the forward and reverse direction.

Abstract: A spa having a base with an upper and a lower surface and a plurality of base air holes formed through predetermined portions of the base, and an air channel connected to the lower surface of the base for channeling air through the base air holes. The air channel consists of a tube having a tube opening extending therethrough and a plurality of tube air holes. The tube is disposed on the base so that each of the tube air holes is aligned with one of the base air holes. The tube is connected to the base and a seal is formed generally about each of the base air holes and aligned tube air holes between the tube and the lower surface of the base. A blower is connected to the tube in communication with the tube opening for blowing air through the tube opening and through the tube air holes and the aligned base air holes.

Abstract: A valve seat having a tubular valve seat wall portion that extends about a frusto-conical valve member that moves longitudinally into the valve seat to close a valve in which the seat and valve member are included. Coaxial openings are formed through the valve seat wall portion to provide for passage of fluids through the valve and at least one longitudinally extending groove is formed in the inner surface of the valve seat wall portion, to extend the length thereof, between the openings. A second groove can be formed in the inner surface of the wall portion opposite the first groove or, alternatively, a cut can be formed through the wall portion opposite the first groove. The valve seat can be locked against rotation by making the wall portion thereof square or providing the wall portion with an anti-rotation tab at one end of the wall portion or a notch formed through a flange at one end of the wall portion.

Abstract: A swing check valve having a readily replaceable valve seat and having a cage surrounding the disc in the final closing movement of the disc sized to guide the disc evenly onto the seat.
