  • Patent number: 4500218
Abstract: A printing ink is vulcanized on the top surface of an operation indicating member consisting of a silicone-type elastomer and is integrated with the elastomer to form a character of a predetermined shape on the top surface. The printing ink consists essentially of a material which exhibits a vulcanizing mechanism similar to that of the silicon-type elastomer. In manufacturing the operation indicating member, the predetermined character is formed by means of the printing ink on a transfer plate disposed within a mold for molding the body of the indicating member. Next, the silicon-type elastomer is introduced into the mold and heated under elevated pressure to vulcanize and integrate the character on the transfer plate and the silicone-type elastomer, whereby the character is integrally embedded in the top surface of the operation indicating member formed in the mold.

  • Patent number: 4486625
Abstract: An alarm system used in a home or office for determining when the consumption of oil or other utility in a tank has been depleted to a predetermined alarm level, and automatically telephoning a computer located at the utility company's office to report the alarm and request delivery of fuel. A pump run count is calculated corresponding to the number of cycles of electricity required to pump a given amount of fuel down to a predetermined alarm level in the tank. As fuel is displaced by the pump, a counter is advanced until it reaches the pump run count whereafter an alarm is activated to cause the alarm system to automatically seize the customer telephone service and dial the computer at the utility office for requesting delivery of fuel oil. The system eliminates the human intervention for reading meters and calling the fuel oil company over the telephone to place an order for delivery.

  • Patent number: 4476610
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing fish tail pieces of the same length a fish conveyed transverse to its longitudinal axis in conveying troughs is displaced in the conveying troughs by a pulling engagement of its tail fin and is transversely cut after reaching the desired position. The device for carrying out this method comprises a gripping device in the form of a circular disc with a number of pincers which run with the trough conveyor and clampingly seize the tail fins. The diverging movement of the pincers which, due to the circular path, diverges from the conveying direction of the trough conveyor effects the displacement of the fish, this displacement being ended by the severing of the tail fin by means of a circular knife whose position can be adjusted.
