  • Patent number: 4347094
Abstract: Labels are separated from a strip and charged with static electricity upon separation. The labels are supplied to articles by utilizing static electricity and label adhesion while the adhesive layer surface of the label is directed outwardly. By application of the labels to the articles, the indications printed on the adhesive layer surface of the label or the surface of the articles to be labelled are protected by the label. Thus the layer of printing is prevented from stain and fabrication and indelibility thereof may be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4345635
Abstract: A rolling protective gate for store fronts or the like is formed of a series of horizontally-extending transparent slats interconnected and articulated by a series of horizontally-extending metal rods. The transparent slats and metal rods are elongated, and each extends the full width of the building front access opening in which the rolling gate is mounted. The transparent slats and metal rods are privotally interconnected by means of circular ribs extending along the top and bottom edges of each slat which are received within sockets formed in the metal rods. The entire rolling gate is formed of the connected slats and rods for easy assembly, and the elongated horizontal transparent slats provide ready visibility through the rolling gate when the latter is in its lowered position providing a security closure for the store front.

  • Patent number: 4344207
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for transferring fish processed or presented in a vertical attitude with their tail downwards into a longitudinally aligned position with regard to their head-tail attitude. The apparatus has a pair of horizontally guided conveyor belts which engage the flanks of the fish and below which a flap is arranged to be pivotable against the force of a spring about a transverse pivotal axis. The conveyor belts are resiliently supported by means of pressure rollers in the vicinity of the flap and extend parallel to one another up to these rollers, but diverge after these. A conveying surface is provided below the divergent section of the conveyor belts.

  • Patent number: 4340179
Abstract: A lawn and garden feeding apparatus includes a container made of transparent plastic, having inlet and outlet hose connections and a disposable cartridge which is inserted into the container. The cartridge comprises a gel with plant nutriment and a water soluble dye suspended therein with the cartridge fitting the inside of the container and having a bore communicating with the inlet and outlet connections. The container inlet is connected by a garden hose to a source of water and the outlet is connected by a hose to a conventional sprinkler or nozzle so that in use of apparatus, water flows through the cartridge bore drawing nutriment and dye from the gel in micro-feeding amounts, and is discharged through the sprinkler or nozzle. Extraction of dye from the gel, after a selected period of time, results in a perceptible change in gel color, indicating that the cartridge requires replacement.

  • Patent number: 4338084
Abstract: Before piling or stacking the bags, the intermediate part (1) of the bag lying between the reinforced or thickened top and/or bottom part (2,3) is folded so as to create a layer having a thickness corresponding to the thickness of the top and/or bottom parts (2,3) where these are folded flat against the bag or sack. Consequently, the bags can be stacked in great numbers without upsetting the stack or distorting the shape of it.

  • Patent number: 4336634
Abstract: In a fish filleting machine with one pair each of circular belly filleting knives, back filleting knives and severing knives as well as belly and back guides arranged on the one hand between the former and on the other hand between the latter, the fish is saddled up tail forward on a push saddle. A scraper tool is disposed beside the belly guides downstream of the belly filleting knives and upstream of the plane of the severing knives, both halves of which scraper tool consist of a respective wedge-shaped scraper knife, the cutting edges of which are associated with a bulge-shaped backing support. The scraper tool is controllable in its height position. In that case, the scraper tool assumes a lowered, i.e. basic setting while the tail part of the fish is guided past. On arrival of the abdominal cavity end, it is driven into a raised setting so that the scraper knife after penetration of the uncut flesh band disposed laterally beside the backbone severs the fillets above the vertebral projections and ribs.

  • Patent number: 4321729
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for aligning fish in the position required for decapitation. For this purpose the fish is displaced by means of sprung displacement elements with the point of connection of at least one of its breast fins until the latter engages the catching edge of a brake shoe. The breast fin which is erected thereby is introduced, while being conveyed further, into a gap formed between the brake shoe and a guide track which ensures the guiding of the same and thus of the fish in a well-defined position for decapitation.

  • Patent number: 4300263
Abstract: The invention concerns a process for the mechanical opening of the bloodstream of flat-fish, the application of which has the aim of the bleeding of the fish. The apparatus proposed for this is equipped with a rotatably driven knife sleeve, which is sharpened at its end side and which is constructed to be lowered onto an aligned flat-fish lying flat therebeneath, and at its circumference carries tearing elements extending radially in the proximity of the cutting edge. The tool, penetrating into the abdominal cavity during lowering while separating circular area portions out of the oppositely disposed abdominal walls, tears open the bloodstream disposed at the underside of the spinal column by means of the radial tearing elements.

  • Patent number: 4296411
Abstract: A meter reader assembly is adapted for mounting on a standard utility meter having a plurality of rotating dial elements for visually indicating total units of the utility consumed. The assembly includes a magnetic reed switch fixedly mounted adjacent the single meter dial element which indicates the lowest whole unit of utility volume consumed, and one or more permanent magnets mounted on this single dial element in a position to traverse the reed switch each time the single dial element rotates through a distance to indicate the consumption of a single whole unit of utility. The reed switch opens and closes each time it is traversed by a magnet to produce an electrical pulse in a logic circuit which also contains a summing circuit for totalling the pulses, and a shift register memory.

  • Patent number: 4291435
Abstract: A method of processing fish in a machine is disclosed, which method enables the control of the time of application and of the control paths of setting members for the tools and guides of the machine and a simple structure of the latter. This controlling is useful and broadly adaptable for timed fish processing machines as well as for such operating non-timed. A measuring device determines a quantity or value to be measured in the form of travel units by the counting of pulses for each fish to be processed, this measured value being proportional to the size of the respective fish, being fed into a computer as the total sum value of the sequence of pulses, and causing a control device to start counting the pulses in turn. The computer determines control data taking into account fish and machine data stored therein, said control data being decisive for the starting times of the single setting members of the tools and their characteristics of movement.

  • Patent number: 4291436
Abstract: An apparatus for extracting the entrails and/or cleaning the belly cavity of decapitated fish comprises an endless conveyor belt advancing the fish, a head belt associated to the conveyor belt and supporting the heads, and a decapitating knife extending between these belts, behind which decapitating knife there is arranged a suction device, which is arranged downstream and decapitating knife in the plane of the same, connected to a source of low pressure or vacuum and comprises a suction chamber and a suction opening. Inside the suction chamber there is arranged directly behind the suction opening a vane roller mounted to be driven, which together with the suction chamber forms a clamping or gripping face for physically gripping and extracting the entrails sucked into the suction opening. In front of the suction opening there is arranged a screen to be lifted by the fish and enabling a controlling of the suction section depending on the size of the fish.

  • Patent number: 4287837
Abstract: A furniture assembly, such as a knock-down work station, desk or table, which may be easily assembled without the use of tools. The furniture assembly comprises a table top, a pair of I-shaped leg members, and a modesty panel which are interfitted and attached together to form a rigid furniture unit. The table top has secured thereto a pair of elongated metal channel-shaped members depending from the bottom surface of the table-top and having a plurality of slots therein into which are inserted tabs secured to the leg members for suspending said leg members from said table top. The panel is formed with side and end panels which abut opposing surfaces of the leg members when the panel is assembled, to hold said leg members from movement. Assembly is completed by insertion of snap fastening elements into registering apertures in the leg members and panel flanges.
