Abstract: A brush section for use in a powered toothbrush, and a powered toothbrush utilizing the brush section are provided. The brush section has a generally disk shaped carrier from which extends at least one finger that has oral care elements, i.e., bristles and elastomeric cleaning members, extending outwardly therefrom to provide increased contact area between the oral care cleaning elements and oral gingival tissue for enhanced massaging thereof.

Abstract: The fragrance emitting dispensing container consists of a container body and a container closure. The container body can be of any shape but preferably is of a decorative shape. The closure functions to close the container and to distribute the fragrance to the room or other space in which the container is present. The closure has a cavity that contains a fragrance emitting material which can be a sheet material or a particulate material. The top of the cavity is a lid with apertures to emit the fragrance into a room. The apertures are covered with a seal which can be partially or fully removed to open the apertures. The seal can be a single seal or a multi-segment seal, with each segment separably removeable to expose a given number of apertures.

Abstract: A waterless, disposable toothbrush is disclosed and includes a handle having a toothpick connected thereto to enable cleaning between teeth, and a rupturable dispenser containing a dentifrice and being connected in a bristle portion of the toothbrush head for dispensing the dentifrice to the teeth to provide teeth cleaning and breath freshening, all of which deliver a cleaning, polishing, whitening, between teeth cleaning, and breath freshening action. The disposable toothbrush of the present invention combines three benefits into one disposable toothbrush: (1) tooth surface cleaning with the toothbrush bristles and the dentifrice in the rupturable dispenser; (2) between teeth cleaning with the toothpick; and (3) breath freshening with the dentifrice in the rupturable dispenser.

Abstract: A toothbrush includes a head and a handle, wherein the head has a plurality of dense packs of bristles surrounded by a plurality of tufts. The tufts can be inclined, extended farther from the head than the cleaning members to retain dentifrice, and at either end or along the sides of the head.

Abstract: An oral care implement with a handle includes a head with a tissue cleanser. The tissue cleanser may be a pad composed of an elastomeric material. The pad is disposed on the head on a surface opposite the tooth cleaning elements. The tissue cleanser may include a plurality of nubs extending for cleaning between the papillae of the tongue. The tissue cleanser may include a plurality of conically shaped nubs. A tissue cleanser can be used to reduce oral malodor problems and remove oral epithelial cells.

Abstract: A toothbrush includes a support member mounted on a first shaft in the head of the toothbrush. A carrier member is mounted on a second shaft to the support member. The support member is eccentrically mounted so that when its first shaft is rotated the carrier member is moved in an orbital path during the rotation of the support member. The carrier member is freely mounted on its second shaft so that during this orbital movement the carrier member rotates in a random manner. Cleaning elements such as bristles extend outwardly from the carrier member.

Abstract: A powered toothbrush is provided and includes a handle portion having a neck formed at one end and a head coupled to neck. The head includes a first carrier that is coupled to the head and is operatively connected to a first drive for moving the first carrier in a first direction. The first carrier has bristles, elastomeric cleaning members, or a combination thereof extending outwardly therefrom. The head also includes a second carrier that is coupled to the head and is in selective engagement with a protrusion extending in a recess defined by the first carrier to impart movement in a second direction. The second carrier has bristles, elastomeric cleaning members or a combination thereof extending outwardly therefrom. In an exemplary embodiment, the first carrier oscillates in a rotational direction and the second carrier moves in a direction parallel to the head.

Abstract: A powered toothbrush is provided and includes a handle portion having a neck formed at one end and a head coupled to the neck. The handle portion is adapted to receive a single battery therein in a tight fitting arrangement. The head includes a base, and one or more carriers coupled to the base. At least one of the carriers is operatively connected to a drive for moving the one or more coupled carriers in respective directions. The one or more carriers have bristles, elastomeric cleaning members, or a combination thereof extending outwardly therefrom.
