Abstract: The method herein describes a process for the preparation and extraction of components from plants of the family Rubiaceae indigenous to South America, also known as Cat's Claw or Uña de gato. Cat's claw is an ethnomedicine that contains a variety of constituents, some of which have opposing actions. Oxindole and pentacyclic alkaloids have been proposed to be constituents that stimulate immune function, whereas polar constituents act to suppress immune response. An extract that was devoid of the aforementioned alkaloids would avoid opposing actions that may negate effectiveness or limit therapeutic outcome.

Abstract: The apparatus is propelled or towed in a longitudinal direction over a field and the apparatus components engage the field surface to inject fluid beneath the field surface. Generally, the apparatus is a frame and at least one series of fluid distribution discs rotationally coupled at end portions of arm assemblies pivotally suspended from the frame. The fluid distribution discs include a plurality of fluid distribution channels that radiate from the fluid distribution disc origin to conically shaped tines connected at the perimeter of the fluid distribution disc. The fluid distribution channels are aligned with similar channels within a bushing securable to the fluid distribution disc radial portion. A stationary plate or disc valve has a disc valve fluid channel in a disc valve radial surface, which is in contact with the rotating bushing radial surface resulting in a periodic alignment between the disc valve fluid channel and each of the bushing channels.

Abstract: The invention is summarized as a method and apparatus for providing a memory function for an air economizing fluid pressure circuit. A latchable or detented valve is used to control an air circuit that defaults to permit the generation of vacuum pressure, but is also cable of ceasing the generation of vacuum pressure generation to air economize. The invention may also include blow off capability for the air circuit.

Abstract: A flexible member used as a rope in a mesh has an outer sheathing which is easy to touch and an inner core which is shrinkable so that when used in a mesh which is suspended on a frame, it pulls the frame tautly by the shrinkage of the inner cords. Also, a connection between a support member and a border can be effected using one way mechanical fasteners. Shrink nets can be further used on a frame without sheathing with a twisted cord.

Abstract: A ratchet wrench storage adapter for use with a prior art storage mechanism for sockets. The ratchet wrench storage adapter comprises a ratchet wrench coupling opening bounded by a wrench receiving opening edge that is further coupled to an storage adapter clip. The adapter can then be coupled to the ratchet wrench and also to a prior art storage mechanism.

Abstract: The present invention, a percussion instrument aid is useful to aid in the creation of acoustic vibrations, or more generally, music. The subject instrument includes a striking pad and a striking tip, positioned distally on a lever arm. Further, the lever arm is pivotally attached at a pivot joint to a brace, the brace having a percussion device attached distally from where the lever arm is pivotally attached. The instrument aid is used by displacing the striking pad with a force conveyed by a hand. As the striking pad is displaced, the pivotally attached lever arm is also displaced thereby causing a complementary displacement of the striking tip. The displacement of the striking tip eventually impacts upon the percussive device causing the characteristic vibrations of the percussive device.

Abstract: The invention is a vehicle-mounted cargo transport apparatus and a method for mounting the cargo transport apparatus on a vehicle is such a way that increases both the loading capacity and stability of the cargo transport apparatus. At a minimum, the cargo transport apparatus comprises a lifting device and at least one load-bearing member. The lifting device is connected to the vehicle and has a cargo holding area, such as a platform, connected to the lifting device for loading cargo. The cargo holding area has at least two positions: a traveling position and a loading position. Cargo is loaded onto the cargo holding area in the loading position and then raised to a vertical position above the traveling position. At least one load beam, preferably two load beams, are then connected to the vehicle in a location where the load-supporting member can support the lifting device in the traveling position.

Abstract: An apparatus and water treatment method uses Sonically Induced Dissociative Reactions (SIDR) and Multi-bubble Sonoluminescence (MBSL) to facilitate Sonically Bounds State Oxidation (SBSO) within a SIDR chamber. Included within the SIDR chamber is counter-flow ultrasonic radiation and an optional binding agent.

Abstract: The invention is a security alarm system component (the “security component”) for securing movable objects. The security, component is designed for use with an ordinary security monitoring system. The security component is threaded through objects sought to be secured. A looping block allows the user to complete the circuit without having to plug the end of the security component into a fixed location. Among other things, the looping block allows the user to secure movable objects of variable size and variable distance from the security monitoring system.

Abstract: An external drive supercharger is described. The external drive supercharger includes an impeller, a multibelt pulley adapted to a drive source, an impeller pulley drivingly coupled to the impeller, and an external drive belt having at least one rib coupled to the multibelt pulley to drive the impeller pulley. Further, the external drive assembly includes an adjustable idler engagingly connected to the external drive belt wherein the impeller pulley and the multibelt pulley engage with the at least one rib of the external drive belt.

Abstract: An improved energy controller that increases the electrical efficiency of AC induction motors and electrical lights that is comprised of a microcontroller integrated with a signal control circuit to regulate the amount of the input line A/C signal that passes from the input the to electrical device. The microcontroller includes circuitry to measure the phase of the voltage and current of the input A/C signal and the shift of the phase across the motor or electric light. Using this phase difference, the microcontroller can determine the power factor and regulate the amount of power provided to the electric motor or light in response to changes in loading on the motor or light. The energy controller includes software that enables the microcontroller to provide a soft-start for induction motors.

Abstract: A method and system comprising a single IBM S/390 computer architecture running an OS/390 operating system, and at least two guest systems executing within the S/390 computer architecture. Each guest system comprising an execution space, allocated within the virtual memory space of the S/390 computer architecture, in which a guest program or operating system may be executed. Each guest system is configured such that if a Start Interpretive Execution instruction in invoked, the instruction is interpreted and a corresponding function is performed in its place to simulate, for the guest program or operating system, the effect of the IBM S/390 computer architecture. Control is then returned to the guest system at the next instruction after the Start Interpretive Execution instruction, thus allowing the guest program or operating system to execute transparently.

Abstract: Disclosed is a two way valve that has a valve chamber having a first valve chamber opening bounded and a fluid flow opening. A chamber shuttle, adapted to travel within the valve chamber, is characterized by a chamber shuttle cavity and has a first chamber shuttle cavity opening and a second chamber shuttle cavity opening. A shuttle-plug that is biased by a force established within the valve closes the chamber shuttle cavity to establish a closed fluid-flow state. The chamber shuttle is also movable against the biasing force thereby resisting the shuttle-plug by a structure fixed relative to the valve chamber and opening the chamber shuttle cavity to establish a second fluid-flow state. A preferred embodiment of the invention is incorporated in a valve construction of components that incorporate aspects of the disclosed invention.

Abstract: The present invention is a portable work station which is designed to be used in motor vehicles. The work station is a cabinet which is capable of being secured to a passenger seat of the motor vehicle, preferably by an attached securing means. There is provided a computer tray which is adapted to be releasable attachable to the work surface of the work station and capable of being received within the interior of the work station. An alternate embodiment of the present invention provides a computer tray which is attached to an articulated cantilever system which, when the lid to the main compartment is opened, projects and presents the computer tray and any computer which is secured thereon.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a multipurpose device that can be alternately configured to form a blanket, a cushion, a hooded poncho, a hooded poncho with a fastening shawl, and a tote bag. The multipurpose device includes a pliable sheet that can be configured for use as a blanket. The pliable sheet is lengthwise dividable into three sections, a first one-third section, a second one-third section having a middle and a third one-third section. The multipurpose device also contains a first attachment. The first attachment includes at least a bi-layer of material that form a first and second pocket and is attached to the pliable sheet near a first edge of the second one third section. The pliable sheet can be folded, preferably with the assistance of specifically placed securing devices, into the second pocket to form the cushion configuration.

Abstract: A display box for aesthetically presenting jewelry is provided. The display box of the present invention includes provisions for under lighting the displayed jewelry when the display box is opened. Additionally, the display box of the present invention may include a sound source or voice recordable chip connected in series with the light source, thus providing visual and aural enhancement of the displayed jewelry. The display box of the present invention may additionally be adapted to hold, display and illuminate more than one piece of jewelry.

Abstract: A device that enables a forklift beam to transport trailers or other mobile vehicles whereby a trailer hitch attachment is secured to a hollow shaft at one end of the device and a forklift beam on a forklift vehicle is secured to a hollow shaft at the other end of the device. When both the forklift beam and the trailer hitch are secured to the device, a mobile vehicle or trailer may be secured to the trailer hitch and transported via the forklift. The device may also receive a generic elongated beam in place of the trailer hitch such that the forklift can be used to lift heavy objects for transport such as combustion engines by securing a rope or chain to the engine and then securing the chain or rope around the beam.
