  • Patent number: 7089080
Abstract: This is a system for monitoring and controlling a compressed air driven, pulse tool. The system includes a means for measuring air pressure supplied to a pneumatic pulse tool and converting the air pressure into an electrical signal representative of the air pressure; a programmed microprocessor configured to identify a portion of the signal representative of the air pressure; and a means for controlling the flow of air to the tool. The programmed microprocessor is configured to identify and store timers to be associated with the signal representing the air pressure. The microprocessor is configured to report an acceptable condition if all of the timers are satisfied and the air flow to the tool has been shut-off by the microprocessor. The system is external to the tool.

  • Patent number: 7076825
Abstract: A floor machine for cleaning floors with a rotary brush or buffer includes (1) a base assembly having a motor and skirt with no frame and (2) a handle and frame assembly. The frame/handle assembly can readily be attached to the base assembly by a simple engagement of the frame to a support mounted on the housing of the motor. This permits (1) the handle and frame assembly to be packaged in a shipping carton which need only be tall enough to accommodate the wheel diameter of the handle/frame assembly and (2) the base assembly of motor and skirt to be packaged in a second carton having a size which need only accommodate such base/motor and skirt assembly with no significant wasted space.

  • Patent number: 7034201
Abstract: Disclosed is a developmental animal model of temporal lobe epilepsy and other seizure-related disorders. In particular, the invention provides a method of inducing a permanent change in the neurological development of a rodent, such as a rat, comprising daily administration of low doses of a kainate receptor agonist to the animal in the second postnatal week, wherein after treatment with the kainate receptor agonist the animal exhibits reproducible seizure-like symptoms when exposed to mild to moderate stressors. Rats treated using the above method are particularly useful as a non-human system for studying temporal lobe epilepsy, as well as for studying the efficacy of potential anti-epileptic compounds and pharmaceutical preparations.

  • Patent number: 6945308
Abstract: This assembly is for use with hot chamber die casting. More specifically, the assembly is a fast fill bottom fill gooseneck. The intake port has been moved to the bottom of the gooseneck. The bottom intake port has been fitted with an interior plug. When the plunger moves upwardly, it creates a vacuum the pulls the interior plug upwardly. This vacuum also opens the bottom intake port pulling molten metal into the chamber from the reservoir. When the plunger moves downwardly, the interior plug moves downwardly and seals the bottom intake port. As the plunger continues to travel downward, it pressurizes the molten metal and forces the molten metal contained in the cylinder through the channel in the gooseneck, through the nozzle seat and the nozzle into the die cavity of the die thereby filling the cavity and forming the cast part.

  • Patent number: 6935387
Abstract: This assembly is an apparatus for recovering vapors during the dispensing of fluids from a storage tank to a receiving tank. More specifically, the assembly reduces odors from storage tanks and loading facilities at asphalt terminals. A dual carbon system was installed for the tanks and the loading rack. The system was operated continuously at a low flow rate to handle stray vapors from the tanks when they are not being filled. The system would be turned to a high flow rate whenever the tanks are receiving product. The blowers on this system are run at a speed proportional to the number of loading arms being used, based on vacuum transmission.
