Abstract: Security apparatus is provided for the display of battery operated hand-held electronic devices. It includes a electronic recoiler device that combines the function of tethering the displayed devices while at the same time providing the power required by each of the displayed devices by means of a continuous electrical connection from a power supply to each displayed device. It also provides wire and wireless alarm functions, as well as visual perpetrator identification. The apparatus also provides specific product information and comparative product information to the potential customer by visual and audible means.
Abstract: The effect of the action of collagenase in treating lesions containing collagen or mixed fibrin clots (e.g., burns or ulcers) is improved by applying collagenase to the wound in combination with an organogel and a phosphatidylcholine, of which lecithin is a readily available source, particularly when the collagenase is first mixed and stored with that choline and an organic solvent and is subsequently mixed with a second individually stored formulation comprising a gel-forming agent and water, the two formulations individually having satisfactory shelf lives and the resultant mixture being applied to the lesion promptly after being formed.

Abstract: The truck security system emits an audible alarm when a cargo door is open and a driver or other person working on the truck goes beyond a defined distance, generally the immediate vicinity, from the truck exposing cargo to possible theft. In a truck having more than one cargo door, an alarm is sounded if more than one door is open simultaneously. If an attempt is made to start the engine with a door open, the system sounds an alarm in the cab and ignition is prevented. The system includes sensing means to detect if cargo doors are opened or closed, control logic circuitry and a clock, a RF signal receiver, an ignition cut-off, an audible alarm and a battery to independently power the security system, all of which are situated on the truck.
Abstract: The invention relates to a head gear. The object of the invention is to increase the functionality of the head gear concerning playing and security features. To achieve said object the head gear comprises a whistle attached to it.
Abstract: A self-extinguishing candle system includes a candle with a top surface. An exposed wick is situated on the top surface of the candle. A base is provided upon which the candle is mounted. A canister containing a non-flammable fluid under pressure is situated within the base. The spray nozzle on the canister is adapted, when actuated by the movement of a linear solenoid arm, to release the pressurized fluid contents of the canister. The released fluid from the canister is directed to the top of the candle by channels in the shell surrounding the candle to extinguish the flame. The solenoid is actuated after a predetermined time elapses, a safety temperature sensor is triggered and/or a tilt sensor is triggered.
Abstract: The apparatus includes a hand-held RF transducer having a transmit section for providing an energizing signal to cause a RFID tag associated with an object retained in the body of the patient to transmit an RF signal and a receiver section for receiving the RF signal transmitted by the RFID tag, as the patient's body is scanned. An auxiliary antenna array for receiving the transmitted RF signal transmitted by the RFID tag is situated in the mattress on the operating table under the patient. Signal processing electronics are connected to the receiver section of the transducer and to the auxiliary antenna array for determining and indicating when a RF signal from a tag has been received, representing that a tagged object remains in the body of the patient, and for decoding the RF signal to identify the object.
Abstract: This device for optically regenerating pulses includes a synchronous intensity modulator to provide time synchronization for pulses passing through it and to stabilize intensity fluctuations in the pulses. In addition, it includes noise suppression circuitry in the form of a saturable absorber that is distinct from the synchronous intensity modulator and the intensity fluctuations stabilizer.
Abstract: In the case of a method for sensing a marking (2) of a running web of material (3), the web of material is optically scanned by an image recording device (6). This generates in successive measuring cycles image signals which are fed to an image processing device (7). This image processing device (7) determines the positional values of the marking (2) of the web of material (3). A validity signal is generated from these positional values by applying a position-dependent weighting function and is output. This validity signal indicates whether the currently determined positional value is valid.
