Abstract: The invention relates to a diagnostic imaging method for interventional radiology. According to this method layer images (1, 2) of the examination zone are reproduced in a three-dimensional view in such a manner that the trajectory of the interventional instrument (4) forms the common line of intersection (3) of the image planes of the layer images (1, 2). In accordance with the visualization method of the invention, at the same time a target zone (6, 6′) that is to be reached by the interventional instrument (4) is displayed at the same time, so that the operating surgeon can interactively guide the interventional instrument (4) towards the target zone (6, 6′).
Abstract: An apparatus and method for obtaining short-term color stability in an HID lamp, the apparatus comprising in a first embodiment a high intensity discharge lamp with a discharge vessel and electrodes; with a filling within the discharge vessel containing a metal halide dose of at least 20 mg/cc, where volume is defined as the volume of the main cylindrical section of the discharge vessel. In a preferred embodiment, the filling within the discharge vessel contains Hg of at least 20 mg/cc, where volume is defined as the volume of the main cylindrical section of the discharge vessel. In a yet further aspect, the resulting color temperature is stabilized independent of the shape and frequency of the current and voltage waveforms that drive the HID lamp.
Abstract: The fluid delivery/refilling system includes a unit-of-use fluid reservoir for dentifrice or medication within a head portion of a power toothbrush, which is removable from the remainder thereof. A pump element is located in the brushhead and is configured so that the back and forth movement of the brushhead in operation results in fluid moving from the reservoir to a dispensing valve located in the brushhead. The dispensing valve has an end portion which is normally closed, opening under pressure of fluid from the pump. The refilling assembly is separate from the toothbrush and is configured to fit over the top of the toothbrush. Upward pressure exerted on the toothbrush when the toothbrush is within the refilling assembly results in movement of a core element in the refilling assembly, which in turn results in a hollow needle in the refilling assembly extending into a refiller valve in the head portion of the toothbrush.

Abstract: A description is given of a rewritable optical information medium comprises a substrate (1), a first dielectric layer (2), a phase-change recording layer on the basis of AgaInbSbcTed or GeaInbSbcTed (3), a second dielectric layer (4), and a metal mirror layer (5), wherein
2<a<8
0<b<6
55<c<80
15<d<30; a+b+c+d=100,
and wherein the layer thickness of said recording layer (3) ranges between 5 and 15 nm. Such a medium is suitable for use in high density and high data rate phase change optical recording systems and media such as DVD+RW, DVR-red and -blue.
Abstract: In a kitchen appliance (1) having firstly a container (3) and having secondly a cover (11) for the container (3) and having thirdly a tool drive means (10) which is accommodated in the container (3) and which is rotatably supported in the container (3) with the aid of bearing means (9, 21) which allow a pivotal movement, which tool drive means is passed through an opening (15) in the cover (11) and is disposed in the opening (15) so as to be clear of the cover (11) in order to allow a pivotal movement of the tool drive means (10), and having fourthly a drive arrangement (28) placed on the cover (11) coupled to the tool drive means (10) so as to be in driving engagement therewith, the tool drive means (10) is, in the fifth place, provided with a brake means (30), whose braking function is disabled when the drive arrangement (28) is coupled to the tool drive means (10) and which in response to a disengagement of the drive arrangement (28) from the tool drive means (10) performs its braking function as a result
Abstract: A method of operating a projection system with at least one high intensity discharge lamp (HID lamp), a rotatable color disc with at least three segments of different colors, and an array (DMD) comprising a plurality of individually movable mirrors, wherein the current strength of the electrical operating current supplied to the HID lamp is varied in time such that the light arc of the lamp is stabilized, is to be constructed such that the power and operational life of the HID lamp used are optimized. The current strength of the operating current for the HID lamp is for this purpose varied such that the current strength reaches a maximum when a given segment of the color disc, and preferably exclusively this segment, is present in the radiation path of the light rays used for the projection.
Abstract: A device (1) for applying an additive to hair, comprising a longitudinally extending base part (2) for making contact with the hair during operation, which base part (2) comprises a distribution system (3) for additive. The distribution system (3) has an inlet (4) which is connected to an additive dispenser (5), and which distribution system has outlets (6) for applying the additive to the hair during operation. The distribution system (3) comprises a carrier element (10) with distribution channels (7) which is covered by a covering element (11), while said carrier element (10) and covering element (11) are detachably connected to each other. Detaching of the carrier element (10) from the covering element (11) uncovers the carrier element (10) with the distribution channels (7) so that the distribution system (3) becomes accessible for cleaning purposes.
