Abstract: The control section 42 of the first VCR 2 discriminates information reproduced from a magnetic tape whether the information is analog information or digital information. In case of reproducing analog information, the recording/reproducing section 43 outputs reproduced information to the analog signal terminal 53. In case of reproducing digital information, the control section 42 controls the recording/reproducing section 43 so as to output reproduced information to the digital signal terminal 51 through the digital interface section 41.
Abstract: As one of the coal reforming treatment steps constituting a coal reforming process, an oxidation treatment step is carried out on a circular grate. For this purpose, there is used a coal reforming apparatus comprising a circular grate, the circular grate being separated into a plurality of zones which include fixed bed zones and mixing zones for fluidizing the coal properly between adjacent fixed bed zones.
Abstract: An optical disk unit that directs a light beam onto a pregroove on an optical disk and generates a tracking error signal for tracking control based on a detection signal generated from a reflection of the light beam, the optical disk unit including a recording offset generator that acquires a differential between a tracking error component generated from a detection signal from the reflection of the light beam at a write power level and a tracking error component generated from a detection signal from the reflection of the light beam at a read power level and adds the differential to the tracking error signal at recording.
Abstract: A photocurable resin composition capable of producing a three-dimensional object which has excellent dimensional accuracy with a small volume shrinkage factor and excellent heat resistance with a high heat distortion temperature as well as excellent transparency and mechanical properties.
This composition comprises at least one imidated acrylic compound (i) represented by the following formula:
wherein R1 is an alicyclic group, an aromatic group or an aliphatic group which may be substituted, R2 is a residual group of amino alcohol, R3 is hydrogen atom or methyl group, and n is 1 or 2; (ii) a radical polymerizable compound and/or a cationic polymerizable compound other than the above imidated acrylic compound; and (iii) a photopolymerization initiator. The weight ratio of the imidated acrylic compound to the radical polymerizable compound and/or cationic polymerizable compound is 80:20 to 10:90.
Abstract: Provided is a power generating apparatus for obtaining a desired power source from elastic movement of an elastic tube into which compressed air is injected. The elastic pressure receptacle having compressed air is rotatably supported and pistons engaged with the elastic receptacle are installed in the vicinity thereof. Also, installed is a driving mechanism having circular plates having inclined protrusions for providing power to rotate the elastic pressure receptacle while inducing elastic movement for driving the pistons from the elastic pressure receptacle and a seesaw mechanism having rollers in contact with the inclined protrusions of the circular plate. The rotation power generated from the elastic pressure receptacle can be used as a desired power source through a driving shaft integrally installed on the elastic pressure receptacle.
Abstract: A pressure sensor cell has a substrate including at least a first electrode and a deformable membrane. The membrane is fixed by its peripheral edge to the substrate and is spaced from the substrate to define a closed chamber around at least a part of the first electrode. A second electrode is provided formed on a wall of the membrane. The second electrode faces the first electrode and is kept separate from the first electrode if no pressure is exerted on the membrane. Finally, an electronic circuit is placed in the substrate under the first electrode.
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for measuring at least one dimension of a conducting volume, in which a measurement sensor (10) is placed in a cavity existing inside an homogeneous conducting or non-conducting body (11), the dimensions and resistivity of this cavity being large compared with the dimensions and resistivity of the volume to be measured, the characteristics of the sensor varying as a function of the immediate volume surrounding it, this medium being a medium with electromagnetic losses.

Abstract: Non-staining topical iodine disinfecting compositions having the ability to inactivate pathogens associated with skin infections or diseases. based upon the presence of molecular iodine in a concentration above at least 15 ppm. Any other iodine species selected from the group consisting of complexed iodine and triiodide may be present with the total of such other iodine species limited to a concentration of less than about 700 ppm so that any visible stain resulting from the application of this composition on the skin will dissipate without leaving any visible skin coloration.
Abstract: A disk device has a head for recording and reproducing data to and from a disk-shaped recording medium. A carriage for supporting the head is provided. A driver is included for moving the carriage in the direction of a radius of the disk-shaped recording medium. Also provided is a controller controlling the driver based on a speed profile selected from among a plurality of preset speed profiles. The speed profile is selected in response to values stored in a memory indicating a disturbance to the head.
Abstract: A pickup adjusting mechanism is provided with a turntable on which a disk-shaped recording medium is clamped, a disk motor which drives the turntable, a first base which supports the disk motor, a pickup which reads information recorded on the disk-shaped recording medium, a second base which is supported on the first base and movably supports the pickup, and an angle adjusting part which is provided between the first base and the second base, and adjusts an angle of the pickup with respect to the disk-shaped recording medium clamped on the turntable.
Abstract: There is provided an elastomeric bearing installed at an upper girder of a bridge or between upper and lower parts of a building, for supporting a load in a stable manner. The elastomeric bearing includes a cylinder member having a plurality of cylindrical hollows, elastomeric members seated on the respective cylindrical hollows of the cylinder member, a plurality of pistons inserted into the respective cylindrical hollows of the cylinder member to hermetically seal the elastomeric members seated thereon, and elasticity reinforcement elements integrally formed with the cylinder member and the plurality of pistons, for accommodating the same, the cylinder member having a plate-shaped body and a plurality of cylinders having cylindrical hollows formed therein, the plurality of cylinders protruding from the bottom of the body. Since buckling occurs only in one direction while supporting a higher load by constricting expansion, the safety can be enhanced.
Abstract: A method for the preparation of p-fluorophenol by the alkaline hydrolysis of p-bromofluorobenzene in the presence of a copper-containing catalyst at an elevated temperature under pressure, the alkaline agent being a strong base, characterized in that said p-bromofluorobenzene, copper-containing catalyst and strong base are contacted with water where at least the base is gradually added to the reaction zone at an essentially uniform flow rate such that the addition of the base lasts at least the time required to complete the reaction in a batch operation, and less than 12 hours, and the molar ratio of the base is between 1.8 to 3 with respect to said p-bromofluorobenzene.
Abstract: A signal processing circuit for converting a 2-channel analog signal into a digital signal includes an analog/digital conversion component for sequentially converting the 2-channel analog signal into digital data according to a sampling clock, and an operation control component for setting a high sampling frequency of the sampling clock at a frequency higher than a normal sampling frequency of the sampling clock and setting a sampling clock duty ratio so that digital data of at least one channel can be sampled.
Abstract: The invention provides a production method capable of forming a thin film resistance element having a thickness and a shape controlled in a high accuracy in a printed circuit board. The production method of a thin film resistance element formed on a printed circuit board, has the steps of forming a thin film resistance layer having a predetermined thickness on the printed circuit board through an insulation layer by a dry process used in producing a semiconductor, forming an electrically conductive layer on the thin resistance layer, and etching the electrically conductive layer selectively so as to make, at least, a pair of electrically conductive pads, resulting in the thin film resistance element having a predetermined value of resistivity between the pair of electrically conductive pads. Thereby, it is possible to form the thin film resistance element having a thickness and a shape controlled in a high accuracy on the printed circuit board.
Abstract: A shock absorbing device includes a first arm portion and a second arm portion. The first arm portion is made of resin having a shock absorbing function. The second arm portion is made of resin having a shock absorbing function, and is jointed with the first arm portion at, at least two positions. The first arm portion includes at least one deformation portion. The second arm portion includes at least one deformation portion. A fitting space is formed between the first and second arm portions as a result of the deformation portions being deformed, a to-be-shock-absorbed article being held in the fitting space.
Abstract: A disk apparatus includes a disk loading device which loads a disk from an insert/eject position to a read/write position, the disk having a first surface and a second surface. A head device records information to and/or reproduces information from the disk at the read/write position, the head device configured as a pair of upper and lower heads which are brought into contact with the first and second surfaces of the disk when the disk is loaded to the read/write position. A shock absorbing member is movably arranged on the disk loading device and has a shock absorbing effect on the upper and lower heads of the head device. The shock absorbing member is maintained at an active position between the upper head and the lower head when the disk is at the insert/eject position. When the disk is loaded to the read/write position, the shock absorbing member is transferred from the active position into an inactive position where the shock absorbing member does not interfere with the head device.
Abstract: An encoder device has a main scale with a plurality of slit-like openings at regular intervals, light-emitting means for emitting and directing light toward the main scale, light-receiving means including four light receiving members for receiving light emitted from the light-emitting means via the slit-like openings in the main scale, and means for obtaining information concerning displacement of the main scale by using output signals output from the light-receiving means.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for thermally transferring an ink pattern to a recording medium, comprising the steps of preparing an ink sheet provided with a hot-melt and/or hot-sublimable ink layer and a transparent material sheet provided with a transparent hot-melt material layer, thermally producing an ink pattern on the transparent material layer of the transparent material sheet by heating the ink sheet with thermal head, and thermally transferring the ink pattern to the recording medium together with the transparent hot-melt material layer.
