  • Patent number: 5275281
Abstract: A plate-like device has six recesses in its top surface for holding in face up relation a set of six commonly used micrometers of from 0-25.4 mm (0-1") through 127.0-152.4 mm (5-6"). The width and length dimensions of the holder are approximately 187.325 mm (73/8") by 625.476 mm (245/8), respectively, and the recesses are specifically arranged to be contained in an area of this size as well as being arranged in continuously ascending order from one end to the other. The particular dimensions of the device allow it to be inserted in and removed from a conventional tool box drawer in a snug fit. It is rigid so as to be self-standing and supporting when out of a tool box drawer and has finger notches for manual handling and removal and a side edge taper and bottom edge rounding for efficient insertion and removal relative to a drawer. The top surface of the device also has auxiliary recesses for holding calibrating standards and one or more adjusting wrenches.

  • Patent number: 5253565
Abstract: A pizza base unit of crust has a plurality of waffle-type depressions in its upper surface that receive pizza toppings and serve to anchor such toppings on the upper surface of the pizza. In the method of forming the pizza, raw pizza dough is formed into a pizza size portion and is subjected to a first cooking step to form a crust while simultaneously providing a plurality of the waffle-like depressions in its upper surface. Pizza toppings are then placed on the upper surface of the cooked crust and in the depressions and this assembly is then subjected to a second heating step to complete the pizza for consumption. Apparatus for carrying out the method includes a hot plate with cooking areas arranged to receive raw pizza dough for cooking into a pizza crust.

  • Patent number: 5211094
Abstract: A base mount supports a secondary mount in surface facing relation and a pair of these mount assemblies are positioned in spaced relation to receive a pallet stringer between them. The mounts support circular cutter discs which are disposed in axially aligned pairs and also in laterally aligned pairs whereby to be capable of severing nails on opposite edges of a stringer in a single pass of a stringer through the space between the laterally spaced mounts. The base mounts support the secondary mounts and are capable of being retrofitted to existing machines. The base and secondary mounts are secured by cross plates that have a cutting edge to form a backup cutter for the cutter discs. The secondary mounts are hingedly supported on the base mounts by a cross hinge at the rear of the mounts and a spring and limit assembly is provided between the mounts to allow adjustment of the mounts for different dimensioned stringers.

  • Patent number: 5177896
Abstract: A tubular open-ended body member is arranged to be buried in the ground with opposite ends in alignment with the runway of a burrowing animal. One end of the body member has an international flange of reduced size which supports a running noose of line and an elastic carrier for this running noose. A trigger hangs in the body member and is associated with the flange so that when an animal engages the trigger, it will dislodge the elastic band and the running noose from the flange and engage them around the animal's body. The running noose is on a line having an anchor end engagable with the body member to cinch the running noose tightly around the animal, and hold the animal in a trapped position.

  • Patent number: 5150625
Abstract: A gyroscopic rotor has a shaft with opposite ends rotatably supported in a housing on a first or spin axis and capable of rotating around the housing at right angles to the spin axis, comprising a second axis. The support of the shaft in the housing is a circular track concentric with the second axis and positioned on opposite sides of and adjacent the ends of the shaft for rolling contact by end portions of the shaft when a torque is applied to the housing about a third axis at right angles to both the spin and second axis whereby to cause precession of the shaft and rotor about the second axis. The track comprises a circumferential groove with opposed surfaces of a type having a friction engagement with the end of the shaft to provide an improved rolling precessional movement of the shaft and rotor. A ring is supported in the circumferential groove and has notches receiving end portions of the shaft for establishing a drive connection between the shaft and the guide ring.
