  • Patent number: 4923129
Abstract: A bowl support ring for a gyratory rock crusher has an annular inwardly directed threaded surface extending in an upright direction. A bowl having an outwardly directed threaded surface is engageable with the threaded surface on the bowl support ring for supporting the bowl on the support ring and for rotatably adjusting it to different vertical planes. A locking ring threadedly engaged with the bowl above the support ring is connected to downwardly extending hydraulic cylinders secured to the main frame of the crusher. These cylinders are arranged to apply a hold-down force on the locking ring which in turn provides a hold-down force acting through the threads of the locking ring and bowl to maintain the bowl in a stationary vertical position and also to frictionally lock the threads of the locking ring and bowl together to maintain the bowl in a non-rotatable position. A plurality of retainer pins with adjustable thrust portions maintain the locking ring in proper spaced relation from the support ring.

  • Patent number: 4922648
Abstract: A diver body portion has a flexible link with a pole line connected between the ends thereof. The flexible link is connected to the top surface of the body adjacent the forward and rearward ends, a rearward connection comprising a pair of connecting points for diverging portions of the flexible link to stabilize the rearward portion of the diver when it is subjected to water current. The body portion is buoyant, with the principal buoyant portion being at the rearward end whereby the diver will rise to the surface with the rearward end pointed upwardly when there is no tension on the fish line. The front connection for the flexible link comprises a rearwardly facing flexible link that is releasable by a force being applied in a direction opposite from the fish line, such as when a fish strikes the bait line, such releasing action neutralizing diving effects of the diver. A weight is slidably mounted on a longitudinal rod at the bottom of the body portion and assists in diving and retrieving actions.

  • Patent number: 4923795
Abstract: A pair of denture sections have curved front and side portions cooperating to form a U-shape to fit the lower jaw of a person. Front edges of the sections are disposed adjacent each other and between two front teeth and a bottom layer of resilient material is bonded integrally to both sections. A front reinforced portion of resilient material connects the sections together into an integral unit. The resilient connection allows the sections to adjust relative to each other to compensate for distortion of the gums during chewing, and a flexible torsion bar is connected across the front edges in an area through a reinforcing portion of the resilient material whereby to reinforce the connection and yet to allow the adjustable movement of the sections.

  • Patent number: 4916854
Abstract: The spinner is formed of a thin film of a type and gauge that normally retains its shape but at the same time is flexible. The spinner has shrink points on opposite side edges of the rounded end portions which are offset from each other relative to the center of the body portion and which due to the distortion of the material at the shrink points form propeller-like, cupped end portions. In the method of forming the spinner, the blank is cut with the rounded end portions and narrowed body portion. The blank is formed into a propeller-like spinner with cupped blades and a propeller pitch by shrinking the film at points of the rounded end portions which are offset from each other and on opposite sides of the longitudinal center.

  • Patent number: 4885806
Abstract: A shield plate has supporting structure at one of its ends for securement to the ear flap of a batting helmet. Such support structure holds the shield plate in one of two positions, one such position being a forwardly extending down position protecting the face but spaced sufficiently low to allow side vision for the batter, the other position being an up or out of the way position overlying an upper portion of the helmet. The shield plate is adjustable to selectively position it at different angles relative to the ear flap in its down position. The shield plate may be fitted on original manufactured helmets or on existing helmets.

  • Patent number: 4881719
Abstract: A gate valve body member 10 and plastic liner 12 define a flow passage 24 therethrough which communicates with a pair of pipes 34 bolted to the gate body. The liner has a bottom seating surface engageable by the gate 22 and extending from a central point outward to the sides of the flow passage. A top opening recess 54 in the liner 12 receives the gate in a slidable sealing fit. The recess and gate are wider than the flow passage and defining walls of the gate receiving recess terminate at the bottom intermediate the center and sides of the seating surface to provide side sealing and pressure backing support in both directions of flow for a lower portion of the gate and particularly a support below the horizontal center line of the flow passage. The seating surface includes a central arcuate surface portion and straight surface portions joined therewith and extending outwardly to the sides, the bottom edge of the gate being configured to fit the arcuate and straight surface portions.

  • Patent number: 4880031
Abstract: A control head has support structure arranged to support it at the rear side of a dashboard. This control head supports a mode control lever and a valve having an elongated housing with pressure inlet and outlet laterals therein. The outlet laterals are arranged to communicate with remote fluid pressure operated structures, and the valve has a stem operated by the mode control lever for controlled operation of the inlet and outlet laterals upon pivoted movement of the lever to operate the remote fluid pressure operated structures. The structural arrangement of the control head facilitates use of quick connect and disconnect flexible tubing between the inlet and outlet laterals and with the fluid pressure operated structures. The control head also has a cam switch operated by the mode control lever for controlled operation of an air conditioning unit.

  • Patent number: 4862849
Abstract: An electrically operated counter is associated with a valve communicating with fuel feed mechanism of a diesel engine. The valve has a first position which allows normal fuel flow to the engine and has a second position allowing only partial fuel flow to the engine. An electrically operated control is activated by the counter at a selected RPM reading of the counter to move the valve to its second position to reduce fuel flow to the engine and consequent reduction of power. The control has a delay therein for delaying operation of the valve for a selected interval after the RPM of the engine has reached the RPM setting of the counter. Activation of the delay is made apparent to the operator by a signal energized simultaneously with initial actuation of the delay. A signal may also be employed that is activated prior to the delay and its signal to warn the operator of impending governing functions.

  • Patent number: 4859515
Abstract: A body member of protective material has opposite surfaces. One of such surfaces has a pressure sensitive adhesive thereon. The body member is bendable whereby upon placing a sharp instrument to be disposed of on the adhesive surface to stick it in place and bending the body member upon itself into connected fold portions at the adhesive surface, a casing is formed around the instrument to hold it securely between the fold portions and to protect personnel from the sharp portion of the instrument. The adhesive surface of the body member is covered by a removable protective layer until use and in addition an auxiliary protective layer is provided on the body member to further restrict penetration of the sharp instrument through the device during disposal steps. The body member is formed of one piece and is bendable along any line thereof. It is dimensioned so as to receive and hold only a single instrument. It can have a lateral tab portion which serves some useful purposes.
