Abstract: The present invention provides for a nutritional composition in a dry powder form or a liquid drink form for optimizing muscle performance during exercise. The dry nutritional composition includes carbohydrate and protein in a ratio, in the range of 2.8 to 4.2 parts of the carbohydrate to 1.0 part of the protein. One or more carbohydrates are sugars in the range of 50.51% to 84.81% by weight of the dry composition wherein the carbohydrates are a mixture of high and low glycemic sugars. One or more proteins are in the range of 10.29% to 32.25% by weight of the dry composition. The dry nutritional composition further includes a first vitamin being Vitamin C in the range of 0.06% to 1.78% of the dry composition for use as an antioxidant for preventing free radical formation during exercise and includes a second vitamin being Vitamin E in the range of 0.07% to 1.78% of the dry composition for use as an antioxidant for preventing free radical formation during exercise.

Abstract: A tote bag apparatus for securing a telecommunication device within a passenger vehicle between a pair of seats. The tote bag apparatus includes an inner bag having a generally rectangular shape, a partial rear panel, a front opening for receiving a telecommunication device, a top panel has one or more adjustable closure flaps for opening and closing the top panel for adjusting the size of the interior space of the inner bag; and an outer tote bag having a generally rectangular space, an outer rear panel and an outer top panel have an outer flap and a first outer flap opening for receiving the inner bag and telecommunication device within the outer bag interior space of the outer tote bag, an outer front panel has a front outer flap and a second outer flap opening for accessing the telecommunication device therein.

Abstract: Methods for treating neurological or neuropsychiatric diseases or disorders in humans by administering to the human a therapeutically effective dose of specific biologics are presented. The biologics of consideration include antagonists of tumor necrosis factor or of interleukin-1. The administration of these biologics is performed by specific methods, most, but not all of which fall into the category of anatomically localized administration designed for perispinal use. Anatomically localized administration involving perispinal use includes, but is not limited to the subcutaneous, intramuscular, interspinous, epidural, peridural, parenteral or intrathecal routes. Additonally, intranasal administration is discussed as a method to provide therapeutic benefit.

Abstract: A foldable speaker system, including an elongated base member having a first end and a second end; a first speaker member having a first pivoting end and being pivotally connected to the first end of the base member, wherein the first speaker member is pivotally movable between a first closed position co-linear with the base member and a second vertical position; and a second speaker member having a second pivoting end and being pivotally connected to the second end of the base member, wherein the second speaker member is pivotally movable between a first closed position co-linear with the base member and a second vertical position. The first and second speaker members in their first closed positions, respectively, substantially overlap the base member, so that the non-pivoting second ends of the first and second speakers are adjacent to each other.

Abstract: Optically-activated particles for use in cosmetic preparations. The optically-activated particles include a plurality of substrate particles selected from the group consisting of nylons, acrylics, polyesters, other plastic polymers, natural materials, regenerated cellulose, metals and minerals; an optical brightener chemically bonded to each of the plurality of substrate particles to form integral units in the form of optically-activated particles for diffusing light to reduce the visual perception of skin imperfections, including cellulite, shadows, skin discolorations, and wrinkles; and each of the optically-activated particles are encapsulated with a UV transparent coating to increase the diffusion light to further reduce the visual perception of the skin imperfections.

Abstract: A game table for playing different types of games. The game table includes a frame section having a centrally-located opening with a rotatable table section mounted therein. The game table further includes a pair of pivot pins for rotating the table section being cooperatively mounted on the table section and the frame section for rotating the table section up to 360° relative to the frame section. The table section includes a first playing surface on the top surface thereof and a second playing surface on the bottom surface thereof; wherein the first and second playing surfaces include a first game board and a second and different game board, respectively, thereon. The frame section and the table section include a pull-out stop pin for retaining the table section in a horizontal plane relative to the frame section. The pull-out stop pin is movable between a retaining position and a non-retaining position for allowing the table section to rotate.

Abstract: A ball server apparatus for conducting batting practice wherein the apparatus ejects a ball into the air and the user swings a bat in order to hit the ejected ball. The ball server apparatus includes a base member connected to a server seat member, the base member for stabilizing the server seat member on a playing surface. The server seat member includes an interior section having a vertical channel extending therethrough; the interior section of the server seat member includes an upper seat section, a middle seat section and a bottom seat section. The ball server apparatus further includes a movable rod having a proximal end and a distal end; the proximal end of the movable rod is within the bottom seat section of the server seat member; the proximal end of the movable rod has an ejection assembly connected thereto; the distal end of the movable rod has a ball seat member connected thereto; and the ball seat member is used for holding a portion of the ball therein.

Abstract: A PDA holding unit and holding case therefor, for securing and holding in place a personal digital assistant (PDA) device. The PDA holding unit includes a base member having an upper surface for receiving and holding a PDA device and a lower surface. The upper surface having a plurality of gripping elements thereon for frictionally engaging the PDA device. The PDA holding unit also includes a first gripping arm movably attached to a first side of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member; and a second gripping arm attached to a second side of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member. The PDA holding unit further includes third and fourth gripping arms attached to one end of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for inhibiting the action of TNF for treating muscular diseases in a human by administering a TNF antagonist for reducing the inflammation of muscle of a human, or for modulating the immune response affecting the muscle of a human by administering a therapeutically effective dosage level to the human of a TNF antagonist.

Abstract: A collapsible umbrella is provided having ear-like projections as part of its main canopy, and includes an umbrella frame with a central shaft having a handle at one end and a crown member at the other end. The umbrella frame also includes a plurality of radially extending ribs being connected to the crown member and a plurality of strut members being connected to the plurality of ribs. The umbrella frame further includes a first ear-like frame assembly and a second ear-like frame assembly, with the main canopy including first and second ear-like covers that extend over the first and second ear-like frame assemblies, respectively. Each of the first and second ear-like frame assemblies include a first frame wire member attached to a strut and a second frame wire member attached to a rib.

Abstract: A collapsible and portable page holder device for holding the pages of a book, including a back support member for supporting a book thereon having a hinge about which two equally sized sections are foldable, a channel opening formed in each of the back support sections of the back support member, and an adjustable holding clip having upper and lower clip members mounted within the channel opening in each of the back support sections. The adjustable holding clip has means for biasing the clips to a closed gripping position for gripping and holding the pages of a book. Each adjustable holding clip has a guide member having a guide shaft attached to each of the lower clip members for slidably moving each holding clip within each of the channel openings and relative to the back support member to adjust the spacing of the holding clips for receiving different size books.

Abstract: A videophone interactive mailbox facility system for processing of information to conduct a transaction which includes a user station, a vendor station, and a central data center. The user station has a videophone for viewing information sent or received to conduct a transaction; an encryption encoder and a decryption decoder for safeguarding the information sent or received; and a touch pad for inputting the information into the videophone. The vendor station has a computer for the transmission and receipt of vendor-type information to or from the central data center for conducting a transaction; and an encryption encoder and a decryption decoder for message privacy and transaction authentication of the information sent or received. The central data center is electronically connected to the user station and to the vendor station and includes a computer processor for centralized transmitting, receipt of and storage of all information and transactions with the user station and the vendor station.

Abstract: The present invention provides a housing for an emergency light source which is electrically connectable to a conventional light switch. The housing replaces a conventional switch plate and has at least one opening for receiving the switch actuator of the light switch. The replacement housing includes wires for electrical connection to the light switch and is divided into upper and lower housing sections, wherein the upper section includes a battery compartment, a printed circuit board compartment, and an opening to receive the switch actuator. The lower housing section includes a compartment for receiving a compact fluorescent lamp, reflectors, and a diffuser cover.
