Abstract: Methods for treating neurological or neuropsychiatric diseases or disorders in humans by administering to the human a therapeutically effective dose of specific biologics are presented. The biologics of consideration include antagonists of tumor necrosis factor or of interleukin-1. The administration of these biologics is performed by specific methods, most, but not all of which fall into the category of anatomically localized administration designed for perispinal use. Anatomically localized administration involving perispinal use includes, but is not limited to the subcutaneous, intramuscular, interspinous, epidural, peridural, parenteral or intrathecal routes. Additonally, intranasal administration is discussed as a method to provide therapeutic benefit.

Abstract: A foldable speaker system, including an elongated base member having a first end and a second end; a first speaker member having a first pivoting end and being pivotally connected to the first end of the base member, wherein the first speaker member is pivotally movable between a first closed position co-linear with the base member and a second vertical position; and a second speaker member having a second pivoting end and being pivotally connected to the second end of the base member, wherein the second speaker member is pivotally movable between a first closed position co-linear with the base member and a second vertical position. The first and second speaker members in their first closed positions, respectively, substantially overlap the base member, so that the non-pivoting second ends of the first and second speakers are adjacent to each other.

Abstract: Optically-activated particles for use in cosmetic preparations. The optically-activated particles include a plurality of substrate particles selected from the group consisting of nylons, acrylics, polyesters, other plastic polymers, natural materials, regenerated cellulose, metals and minerals; an optical brightener chemically bonded to each of the plurality of substrate particles to form integral units in the form of optically-activated particles for diffusing light to reduce the visual perception of skin imperfections, including cellulite, shadows, skin discolorations, and wrinkles; and each of the optically-activated particles are encapsulated with a UV transparent coating to increase the diffusion light to further reduce the visual perception of the skin imperfections.

Abstract: A ball server apparatus for conducting batting practice wherein the apparatus ejects a ball into the air and the user swings a bat in order to hit the ejected ball. The ball server apparatus includes a base member connected to a server seat member, the base member for stabilizing the server seat member on a playing surface. The server seat member includes an interior section having a vertical channel extending therethrough; the interior section of the server seat member includes an upper seat section, a middle seat section and a bottom seat section. The ball server apparatus further includes a movable rod having a proximal end and a distal end; the proximal end of the movable rod is within the bottom seat section of the server seat member; the proximal end of the movable rod has an ejection assembly connected thereto; the distal end of the movable rod has a ball seat member connected thereto; and the ball seat member is used for holding a portion of the ball therein.

Abstract: A game table for playing different types of games. The game table includes a frame section having a centrally-located opening with a rotatable table section mounted therein. The game table further includes a pair of pivot pins for rotating the table section being cooperatively mounted on the table section and the frame section for rotating the table section up to 360° relative to the frame section. The table section includes a first playing surface on the top surface thereof and a second playing surface on the bottom surface thereof; wherein the first and second playing surfaces include a first game board and a second and different game board, respectively, thereon. The frame section and the table section include a pull-out stop pin for retaining the table section in a horizontal plane relative to the frame section. The pull-out stop pin is movable between a retaining position and a non-retaining position for allowing the table section to rotate.

Abstract: A PDA holding unit and holding case therefor, for securing and holding in place a personal digital assistant (PDA) device. The PDA holding unit includes a base member having an upper surface for receiving and holding a PDA device and a lower surface. The upper surface having a plurality of gripping elements thereon for frictionally engaging the PDA device. The PDA holding unit also includes a first gripping arm movably attached to a first side of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member; and a second gripping arm attached to a second side of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member. The PDA holding unit further includes third and fourth gripping arms attached to one end of the base member for engaging and holding the PDA device in place on the base member.

Abstract: An umbrella planter having a snap-on lower water reservoir base member and a center sleeve tube for use with an umbrella-type patio table having a table top with a centrally located opening for receiving an umbrella pole of an umbrella assembly. The umbrella planter includes an upper planter member and a lower water reservoir base member. The lower water reservoir base member includes a side wall having an upper perimeter lip and a bottom base wall; and includes a hollow center sleeve connected to the bottom base wall and having a central sleeve opening for receiving the umbrella pole therethrough; and the bottom base wall also includes an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface of the bottom base wall of the lower base member includes first connecting means for connecting and mating the lower base member to the upper planter member.

Abstract: Curtain mounting brackets for curtain rods for use with conventional blind bracket mounting devices of a blind assembly for attaching one or more curtain rods thereon in order to hold a curtain and/or valance thereto. The curtain mounting brackets include a first bracket housing having a first holding wall member with an upper channel, a lower channel, a first side perimeter edge and a second side perimeter edge; the first holding wall member having mounted thereon a first curtain rod holding prong member and a second curtain rod holding prong member; and the upper and lower channels of the first holding wall member are for engaging and being joined to an upper and lower receiving channel of the conventional blind bracket mounting device, respectively for preventing one end of the blind assembly from falling out of the blind bracket mounting device.

Abstract: A composition of an aerosol coolant spray for killing and removing ticks from human skin, to be dispensed from a pressurized a pressurized aerosol spray cannister. The aerosol coolant spray composition includes a liquid coolant material for freezing the essential oil, and the cooled essential oil is used for immobilizing and killing the tick on the skin of a human. The aerosol coolant spray composition further includes a diluent material being used as a carrier material for emulsifying the essential oil and the coolant material within the pressurized aerosol spray cannister.

Abstract: A dual-voltage lighting fixture assembly having at least two independent lighting circuits for supporting and energizing tube-type lamps. The assembly comprises a track having an insulating housing for mounting at least one set of conductors along an upper plane surface of the housing and at least one other set of conductors along a lower plane surface of the housing. Sets of complementary tabs formed in the housing provide means for locking a plurality of lamp clips at predetermined positions on the track. An improved lamp clip includes means for connecting the lamp clip to the track and separate means for making electrical contact between the lamp and one of the conductors in the track. The lamp clip has corresponding apertures for receiving the complementary tabs in the track to lock the lamp clip in position, and an outwardly-extending tang integral with one side thereof for making electrical contact with the conductor.

Abstract: A device for piercing a nut comprising a first member having a receptacle for receiving the nut and a first handle section. A second member is also provided having a handle section and a cover section for the receptacle. The cover section has an opening formed therein. A third member is provided having a handle section shorter than the first and second handle sections and a piercing device for extending through the opening and into the receptacle for piercing the nut. The first, second, and third members have a common hinge point for pivoting the second and third members relative to the first member to pierce the nut in the receptacle. The first and second handle sections cooperate to form a gripping handle for the user to grip while pivoting the third member and piercing device to safely pierce the nut.

Abstract: The present invention provides an exercise glove to be worn during weight lifting or exercise comprising a hand section extending between the wrist and the base of the fingers when worn on the user's hand. The hand section has a palm section for covering the user's palm. The hand section also extends around the hand and has a thumb hole through which the thumb extends and a single finger opening through which the remaining four (4) fingers extend freely without restriction as to movement. The palm section has a gripping section extending from the palm section. The gripping section forms a flap for covering and protecting the palm side of the user's four (4) fingers during exercise that uses the fingers for gripping.
