Abstract: A device (1) suitable for marking a laboratory sample cassette (2) has a platen (6) with an aperture (7) and a cassette (2) is positioned so that a marking surface (3) of the cassette is aligned with the aperture (7). The device (1) also has a plurality of wires (9) with each wire (9) connected to a solenoid (11). An end (10) of each of the wires (9) is heated by a ceramic guide (12a) and selected ones of the heated wires (9) are oscillated once in a first direction (25) by their respective solenoids (11) to and from the aperture (7) to mark the marking surface (3). All the wires are then moved in a second direction transversely relative to the first direction (25) and selected wires are then oscillated once to mark the marking surface (3). This process is repeated until the required marking of the cassette marking surface (3) is completed.

Abstract: Techniques are presented for determining a corpus of content portions, each content portion associated with at least one element. A first set of feature values is determined for each content portion. Clusters of content portions are then determined based on the first set of feature values. The features values are optionally associated with topics. Structural links between the elements are determined based on a second set of feature values. A layout of the element is then determined based on the clusters and the structural links. Optionally the N-most dominant topics are determined and also used to inform the layout of the elements in a display.

Abstract: A method employing a hybrid classification model is used to perform optical character recognition operations for an image. Image data from the image is provided to a generative classification model of the hybrid model, and generative image classifications operations are performed, generating a feature data set which is outputted from the generative classification model. This feature data set is then provided to the discriminative classification model, and discriminative classification operations are performed to generate a classification of the image.
Abstract: A single-converter circuit-based LED driver circuit (10) with isolated multi-channel outputs is disclosed. The circuit (10) includes an IC control circuit (11), a plurality of isolated output channels (70, 74) each having an output current sensing and conditioning circuit (74, 90), and an output current regulation circuit (128). The output current regulation circuit (128) includes a voltage-sensing transformer winding (T4) that senses an output voltage level across a secondary side of the circuit (10), and a peak output current sensing component (156) that senses output currents from the isolated output channels and determines which channel has a highest current output. Additionally, the circuit (10) facilitates providing output current regulation when detected output voltage is below a predetermined threshold, and providing output current regulation when the detected output voltage is above the predetermined threshold.
Abstract: A system and method of providing personalized broadcast transmissions Broadcasting-Party-Designated Recipients over a mobile telecommunications Radio Area Network is provided. The Broadcasting Party can send multimedia content for a personalized broadcast to an IMS Application Server in a SIP Message and broadcast the multimedia content to the mobile telecommunications terminals of the Broadcasting-Party-Designated Recipients. The personalized broadcast transmission can be generating using a plurality of unicast transmissions or a multicast transmission made to a multicast channel/address.
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing controlled blade engagement with an image forming machine moving surface are provided for metering a release agent onto the surface, cleaning the surface, or both. A blade engagement apparatus is provided having a controller controlling an actuator connected to a blade positioning mechanism for providing controlled engagement of the blade with the moving surface. The minimum blade load applied by the blade to the moving surface needed to prevent defects is determined and maintained for increasing the useful life of the blade. Control systems and methods utilizing single and separately operable dual blade positioning mechanisms are provided.
Abstract: A system and process for controlling vehicle loading on a multi-axle vehicle and improving maneuverability is disclosed. The system includes a reservoir of pressurized air and associated leveling valve that uses a relay valve to improve refill times when the vehicle returns from a dump mode operation to normal operation. The process reduces pressure in one or more of the axles when maneuvering the vehicle at predetermined slow speeds and maintaining that first predetermined pressure while the other axle(s) is at a greater pressure than the first axle. By preventing complete exhaustion of pressure from the suspension system, restoring air pressure is attained more quickly. Also, use of a relay valve enables higher flow rates to improve the refill time of the pneumatic suspension system after the dump operation.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate calibrating a scanner by capturing a plurality of white calibration files and generating a mathematical function that models the scanner. For instance, a white calibration file can be captured before and after a page is scanned, and the function can be an average of offset and gain values for pixels in scanlines of the scanned page. Three or more white calibration files can be used to generate a linear function (e.g., using linear regression) or an exponential function describing the gain an offset values of the pixels.

Abstract: A method for identifying header/footer content of a document, in order to sequence text fragments comprising recognizable text blocks as derived from the document. The textual variability of lines comprised of text blocks, including the different kinds of text blocks within the line is analyzed for assessment of textual variability. Header/footer zones are defined by textual content having a low textual variability. An alternative embodiment identifies pagination constructs by comparing selected text-boxes for similarity and proximity and clustering the text boxes satisfying a predetermined similarity value, wherein the clustered text boxes are deemed to comprise pagination constructs.
