Abstract: The present disclosure provides a refrigerator having a cabinet including at least one access area having an open face and a grill door for selectively closing the open face of the access area. The refrigerator can also include a water using accessory provided on the cabinet. The grill door can be selectively retained to the cabinet wherein a manifold is fixed relative to the grill door and fluidly couples the water using accessory to a water supply. A water treatment cartridge can be removably coupled to a casing such that when the cartridge is coupled to the manifold, the cartridge treats the water from the water supply for use by the water using accessory. The manifold can be located on the grill door such that the mounting of the cartridge to the manifold moves the cartridge from within the access area to outside of the access area as the grill door moves from a closed position to an opened position, respectively.
Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a method for mapping signals to subcarriers in a sending means of a MIMO-based wireless telecommunication network and an apparatus for the same. It is characterized in that, controlling the mapping of the signals in an input signal sequence to the subcarriers, so that the signals sent by different antennas at the same time correspond to nonadjacent signals in the input signal sequence. With the aid of the present invention, burst error due to deep fading channel can be effectively avoided, and diversity gains can be also improved.
Abstract: Methods and systems for assessing the effect of road curvature on the travel time and the comfort level of a path determined by a ground based route planning system. The methods and systems identify a path and determine an allowable speed profile of the path, wherein the allowable speed profile satisfies a cross track acceleration constraint. Thereafter, the methods and systems determine an optimal speed profile of the path, wherein the optimal speed profile satisfies both an along track acceleration constraint and a speed constraint. Using the optimal speed profile, the road curvature of a path may be factored into a determination of the traversal time of the path. Additionally, using the optimal speed profile, the road curvature of a path may be used to derive a comfort level of the path and/or to provide driver assistance.

Abstract: A method and system are provided for characterizing performance of a printer across a plurality of halftone screens. A first non-uniformity profile is generated by measuring printer performance. Cross-position differences between the first non-uniformity profile and selected corresponding cross-positions of a second halftone screen are detected. A scaling factor is computed relating the detected differences. Printer performance with the second halftone screen is predicted by applying the scaling factor associated with the second halftone screen to the non-uniformity profile of the first halftone screen.

Abstract: In the method, for collecting and diluting a gaseous sample disposed at a temperature substantially higher than the normal temperature from a sample space (2), a flow of sample is collected into a sampling tube (3); the flow of sample is introduced from the sampling tube into a sample channel (8) formed by a gas permeable first jacket (7); dilution gas is introduced into a dilution gas space (10) formed by a second jacket (9) enclosing the first jacket and connected by its end to the sampling tube, and further from it, through the first jacket into the sample channel; and heat is conducted from the sample space (2) into the dilution gas space (10) for warming up the dilution gas that comes into contact with the sampling tube (3). According to the invention, in the method, a substantially laminar protection flow, which encloses the flow of sample being released from the sampling tube (3) into the sample channel (8) and is disposed longitudinally to the sample channel, is formed from the warmed up dilution gas.

Abstract: An in-line mixing apparatus is especially useful for iodine extraction from brine. Three fluids (brine, an oxidant such as sodium hypochlorite, and an acid such as HCl) are mixed in the apparatus. The apparatus includes an inner tube and an outer tube. Openings are present in the sidewall of the inner tube to connect the interior volume of the inner tube with the annular volume between the inner tube and the outer tube. Fluid is passed into the inner tube and flows through the openings into the annular volume, causing immediate and vigorous mixing and chemical reaction to obtain elemental iodine.
Abstract: A system renders print jobs via a marking engine. A raster image processor receives the job from the input module and renders it to one or more raster images. One or more contone image processors receive the one or more raster images to perform cross-channel image processing to render the raster images into a form compatible with the marking engine, wherein the output is partially sub-partitioned by color separation. An image refactoring and distribution network completes the sub-partitioning by separation of the rendered contone raster images by color separation and distributes each color sub-partition to a marker channel module specific to each color sub-partition. A marking engine receives the color sub-partitioned image data, marks the image onto a substrate and outputs a hardcopy of the image.
