    Abstract: An air circuit breaker ratcheting mechanism includes a ratchet and pawl whereby the closing springs charging gear is prevented from reverse rotation during the closing springs charging operation. Upon completion of the charging operation, the ratchet and pawl become disengaged from the charging gear to allow the closing springs to respond to a manual closing button depression. A holding prop within the ratcheting mechanism interacts with a roller bearing on the charging shaft to prevent reverse rotation of the charging shaft under the bias provided by the charged closing springs.

    Abstract: A coordinate measuring system including a multijointed arm. The multijointed arm includes a plurality of transfer housings for producing signals corresponding to the position of the tip of the arm. A serial box mounted to the arm receive signals from the transfer housings and processes the signals for use by a computer. The serial box emits an audible tone when any one of the transfer housings is rotated beyond a predetermined limit. An earphone jack is provided at the serial box for providing the audible tone to earphones. A speaker may also be mounted in one or more of the transfer housings. One or more of the transfer housings may be placed in a locked state preventing rotation of the transfer housing and eliminating a degree of freedom of the arm.

    Abstract: A parallel multiprocessor data processing system having a plurality of nodes for processing data and a switch connected to each of said nodes for switching messages between the nodes, each node having a node processor for defining messages under program control to be sent to another node. Each of the nodes has an I/O processor for controlling the sending of messages to another node via the switch, and a shared memory which can be accessed by both the node processor and the I/O processor. Instructions for the messages to be sent by the I/O processor are stored in mailboxes in the shared memory by the node processor. A comparing circuit compares addresses on the bus to the contents of a plurality of address registers and sets the corresponding bit in a results register for each match. The adapter processor reads the contents of the results register such that the adapter processor may, with a single bus access, determine all mailboxes that have been accessed by the node processor.

    Abstract: A bone assessment apparatus for diagnosing bone by transmitting and receiving measuring waves (in particular ultrasonic waves) is provided. A body part (e.g. a foot) is gripped by a pair of transducer assemblies, and ultrasonic waves are transmitted and received in this state. Each transducer assembly comprises an ultrasonic transducer and a coupler. The transverse cross-sectional area of the ultrasonic wave beam is adjusted by adjusting the contact area of the coupler on the body part, by changing the vibrating area of the ultrasonic transducer, or by fitting an attachment which narrows the ultrasonic wave beam to the transducer assembly. The transverse cross-sectional area of the ultrasonic wave beam may be changed depending on the size of the body part to be measured.

    Abstract: An apparatus for making a multi-portion mixing element for a static mixer is disclosed. The apparatus includes a base and a split die set having a first die and a second die in axial alignment which are rotatably mounted to the base. Each of the dies have an opening forming an extrusion pattern which mate with respect to the other. The dies are capable of rotating together so that the patterns are in an aligned position during rotation. The dies are also capable of rotating to a misaligned position. An extruder for extruding an extrudable material through the first and second dies is provided and a controller controls the rotational position of the dies during extrusion. The dies are rotated simultaneously during extrusion with the patterns aligned to form a mixing portion of the mixing element and are rotated to a misaligned position to create a space between the mixing portions.

    Abstract: A permanently installed, remotely monitored and controlled transient pressure test system is provided. This system utilizes shut-in/choke valves, pressure sensors and flow meters which are permanently associated with the completion string to perform transient pressure tests in single and multiple zone production and injection wells. The present invention permits full bore testing which thereby eliminates undesirable wellbore storage effects. The present invention further allows for pressure testing limited only to a selected zone (or zones) in a well without expensive well intervention and without halting production from, or injection into, other zones in the well. The permanently located pressure test system of this invention also allows for real-time, downhole nodal sensitivity and control. This pressure test system may be permanently deployed either in production wells or injection wells.
